Darkrelik's dedicated music for TR :)
Hello TR! I have been working with music for over nearly 8 years now, and earlier this week I composed this song for Hammerfell. I created it as to possibly being an explore song. Mind you, it's just a sample, but if you guys and gals are interested in the music, I'll go ahead and finish it. Here's the link...

I'm not a musician so this is just the perception of your average guy so forgive me if I'm not getting something.
I liked it at first as a song for a desert village or a seedy marketplace something, but when it started picking up speed and using those deep pounding sounds it sounded more like a battle and towards the end where it added similar sounds it sounded even moreso, nothing like what it was when it originally began.
Listen to some Explore Music and some Battle Music and note the differences. Explore music is generally soft, slow and melodious and doesn't contrast the pitch of instruments so much. While battle music usually has deep thundering beats and sharp quick highs to contrast. Your piece has both, and so it seems like neither.
For this particular one I would slow it down a bit overall, tone down the deeper sounds and slow down that flute/wind instrument to better match the speed of that bongo-like instrument and the shaking-sand maraca-like instrument (which I think sound great together). But honestly don't take it from me unless you think to do so, It might just be my personal preference and ultimately it's up to you.
But otherwise, I think it's an excellent style, it's definitely what I would think of for Hammerfell music. I look forward to hearing more from you.

i have merged your two topics together, as we want to have only one showcase per person. does it include any new interior/exterior locations? if so ill take a look at it later today, but i cant really review quests.

I included the Oblivion Region. It's north of the Sheograd Region and inaccessible with the exception of the Oblivion gate which appears at the end of the quest. There are no creatures in the Oblivion Region though...i had to remake the mod before i posted it up because i accidentally merged it with TR Data and such and it somehow got corrupted. There had been creatures and statics in the old one. I added a few new meshes, none that i made though. I recreated parts of the daedric ruins to be doors for parts of the oblivion gate structure. Also, the forcefields in Mournhold i did the same with, but i recolored the textures to look like fire. I also added a black cape for the new character. Other than that, i only added the new character Marien Dralas, found in Nerano Manor. But somehow...she got duplicated so there are two of her in the same place, only ingame and not in the CS. i think it's somehow related to either the new cape since one of her is wearing a cape and the other isn't, or maybe it's dialogue-related...very possibly it might be with the "talked to pc = 0" but i'm not sure, since i couldn't find anything which pointed to it. The same thing happened in the old mod and i deleted her dialogue and it fixed it...lol

once again, sorry for the wait.
- i encountered a couple of errors about scripts not being compiled. it didnt seem to affect anything, but you should go back and compile them none the less.
-smooth the landscape, there should be no jagged edges or any completely flat surfaces.
-vertex shade around texture seams and around statics.
-add some statics there is a 100 per cell minimum. ashlands statics, dungeon pieces, and lots of other items would be appropriate here. since this is oblivion you can get a bit creative.

BNelo, I think that the beginning was kinda' like building up to the middle. A melody the whole time would get boring. Also, this isn't his piece, as you can see, it's a FF8 song, re-mastered by him. I though it was an OK battle piece. I still like the first one better .

I know its not his work. I also think the build up was to long and I really thought the ending (not the bit where it stops) but the bit working down to the endig was good. I also agree with theoron that the first one was better. Also he could probbaly moddify this song so it becomes his own creation.

:O *GASP* IT'S FINALLY HERE!!! and only 35 seconds long... lolz XD I finally made a short sample of a battle theme. It's still a bit rough and I need to find some more instruments online to fit into my program, but here it is...i guess you could call it a roughdraft

Mus_explore1: Kill the tremolo, it sounds completly out of place, the track would sound much better without it. Other than that it's good.
(EDIT: Listened to it more. The Tremolo sounds a little better towards the end, but the one at the start does not fit at all. I'm not sure if it's the fading in and out (modern) or just it being a completly different insturment from the others(different cultures), might be both.)
Battle1: Very confusing peice, good to hear the old TR theme tho. It sounds roman at the start, then shifts to the TR theme, you need to sort this one out. Stick to one of the two, mixing it up dont work.
Force your way: I dont like the idea of using other games tunes. But it sounds like a good battle peice. Never played FF8 so never heard the tune. If you can make it completely your own then I dont see why it cant be used. But if people can recognise it, TR will get flack for it.
(EDIT: I've listened to this a bit more, and I realy cant see this fitting into TES.)
All this is just IMHO. Keep at it

For the new battle theme, I actually like it quite a bit. Oblivion usually just jumps right into the battle theme instead of having that short (like only those first few seconds, not sure how else to describe it) intro before the proper theme, but this is really a non-issue.
I liked the battle rendition of the TR theme, and honestly I didn't think the transition was too bad, I can see myself fighting to this theme. Overall, very good job.

I really like your sound. If you haven't already, please listen to anything that Macar ever composed; it's the sound for Hammerfell.

It's good, but after the TR theme, it has the same sort of thing for pretty much the rest of the song. I was fine with the new section up until about :46, where it repeats itself, or is at least very similar to the bit before it. However it sounds like it was changing into something else when the song ended, I think that bit could come earlier. One of the things I like about this song is that it's always changing.
And I didn't think you needed to change the intro, but both are good. (What I referred to as the intro in my previous post was that sharp whistle right as the song opens).
I liked how the original started as tuneless percussion then suddenly went into the melodious TR theme. I would like to see what happens if the entire song is done like that, where you get a short measure of thundering drums/low sounds, followed by a high, tuneful part, then back to deep percussion and so forth.
But that's just my personal rambling, I really want to hear a full version before I start confusing everyone with ideas I'm not entirely sure would work.

lol well, before I do anything more, are you guys actually in need of music for Hammerfell, or did Macar compose everything you need? just wondering if i should keep going, because I'm also making another soundtrack called "The Armidian Assassin". Please let me know lol what i'm trying to say is, do you want me to make a soundtrack for Hammerfell?
