Theron Udraer's Concept Art! (yes, I know, I do everything!)
Hiya, all. I'm not quite sure if I'm supposed to post this in my showcase, but whatever =) I'm an OK artist, so I decided to put my skills to use (whatever skills I have). I'm that kid who used to sit in the back of the classroom trying to be quiet and doodling swords from Zelda on his notebook, then hiding his notebook so no-one could see what a geek he was =P . Ahh... the old days. So I'll put those notebooks to good use!
Here are some weapons I just drew. I did some research on a few, and they each are a little different. I heard from a few Moderators/Admins that Hammerfell was pretty Oriental. So I drew some Japanese weapons with some modifications on one (so many mod words! Moderator, modification, moddler, modder. How do we ever distinguish....) One is a modified Tonfa with a blade attached instead of just a stick. This would be a short blade, though it would be hard to get the arm-slashing motion. The other one is an unmodified Naginata. Kinda like a halberd, this is a traditional Japanese art weapon, then martial. The other two are a katana and a kukri.
The first 2 from the left (the blunt weapons) are hammers. The first huge one is a two-handed blunt weapon with stabilizers under the hammer part so that it wont break as easily. The second, small hammer (or axe) can either be a one handed blunt or an axe. Lightly based on a AFrican throwing axe (though I didn't paln it to be when I started it), it is designed to take some of the shock of the impact, and be practical for throwing, too.
The last one is the weirdest of them all. Spears are spears. Long, pointy, and straight. Who really needs to draw a spear, I thought, when they are all the same? So I decided to make a different spear, something that is not the same. A triple-barbed tip creates heavy, sturdy damage. The design, slightly similar to a staff, is meant to be held below and above the first bulge. The bulges are a form of weight balancing. Having the weight towards the middle (larger bulge) helps even out the strikes: too much in the front, and it will be hard to lift up quickly; too much in the back, and not enough striking force. By adding the bulges, it adds to the front and back, then balances them out in the middle.
Some of these are slightly unique, but, for example, the Tonfa can be modified upon its quality. The spear is just a try to be a unique spear, and will be hard to make into a standard weapon, so is maybe best as its own thing (unique spear).
Thanks for reading all of this, and if you didn't, well, whatever. Your loss. I'm uploading the picture, since that is the easiest for me =) . If I'm not supposed to, I will just paste it in.

Ok! Next CA! This time is houseware. The pot/jug/vase on the top is different than most. It is shaped similarly to a watering can. My CA of it wasn't very good... It has the basin, and then sticking out like a chimney, but from the side, is a spout. A little twist on normal pots. These are all fancy houseware. Hope you like!
Nice to see you interested in concept art as well, Theron.
If you had to choose between what you have posted, what would be your favourite weapon and houseware piece? I suggest you to pick up just two of these (one weapon and one houseware) and draw it bigger adding some detail.

You know what's also popular? Enormous flying cities and ridable dragons. Maybe TR should invest in navigable ships and underwater cities.

OK can do. Oh by the way, osiris. I'm a playtester now! Just like you hehe. I'll use this post to put them up. Thanks for getting back to me!
Hiya! Here it is! Well, at least the first one. The goblet is finished in full size! All you moddlers planning on making this (if you do), take a look at the attempt at shading on the basin. The middle slightly protrudes, giving it a slight edge. I'm fairly new to shading (Well, not really. 1 or 2 years...), so this is not the best of it. HOpe you like it full-sized! I made some minor adjustments, but other than that, it's the same as the small one.

Ok, I appreciate the size changing.
Shading is definitely better, now you should work on the details: you have to make the goblet interesting and unique, possibly Hammerfell related. For general advices on how TR concept art should look, start with a tour in Luthemoth's Concept Art, then have a look at some style examples here and here. There will be a point where you'll need to post more concepts than just one though, use imageshack to post pictures in thumbnails.

Let people post their thoughts. A 15 y.o CV in professional art creation allows me to help in an art forum everytime I wish . I'm not on holidays, so since I have some knowledge in drawing, maybe someone could find it useful.

I made a Photobucket account, since the other one is down (I never remember its name!), and posted this pic. I don't have enough pics yet, so the next will be a link to the page. Oh the link is http://s217.photobucket.com/albums/cc93/pigsandkiwis/, but I'm gonna post it here (last one here) The frog in the front is a doormat. The snake heads are planters! This is more of the woodsy style: hope you like it.
Me likes inventive concepts, a good step since your first works. If you only could study a bit the shape of both frog and serpents (not sure if the frog can be Hammerfell-related though. I have no idea)...
Why that tree behind the door?

I know, I didn't do that well on the frog; thanks pes for the support, though. The tree is just a little decoration, meant to show it was in a forest. Thanks for the feedback, osiris.
I'm reworking the goblet to be a little better. I'll post it soon (on my Photobucket acc). Thanks!

Ok, so I never really got back to the goblet, but I drew 2 new CAs, which 1 of them I will make more Lute-y. The other one I posted on Photobucket with all the other CAs, under a new album. This one is different, as I took a natural approach on it. It is based off my floor in my REAL house, as strange as it sounds. Since it is a REAL house, I thought that it would be a trust-worthy source (heh). I drew the outline based on the patterns on my floor, then actually went down onto my kitchen floor and shaded on top of that. So this is real wood . Here it is.

not very thumbnaily the thumbnail version is only available on imageshack, you use photobucket.
your concepts are a good start, but one thing they lack is detail. in other words, what sets Cup A apart from Cup B? why is Sword C Yoku while Sword D is imperial and Sword E Orcish? concepts have to be unique and detailed.
you might also want to clean them up some, either with a graphics editing program or with real life tool (eg. pen). atm they arent very clear and would be hard to model.

you dont need to join imageshack to upload pictures, you can just host them strait up (but joining is better since it keeps your work together, im not sure why youre having trouble registering).

Ok, so in history today, we watched a movie about Islam. It had some really cool architecture, which I thought might fit somewhere. I also did some High-Class things, all you modelers out there! Your art has come along quite a bit since your first post, but if I could give you one bit of advice, take your time.
Theres really no need to rush your work so much, just slow down about 30 clicks and add more effort/detail to your art. In the end you and everyone else will appreciate it that much more.
For an object such as a tumbleweed or a desert shrub, of what value to a modeler would a mass of scribbled lines be?
Just keep in mind that your concepts should provide a clear style and outline for the modeler, you don't need to flesh out every single detail, but just give a really good clear understanding of what you are trying to get at.
I like where your going with the buildings and architecture, but again, clearly define your detail and style, and focus in for detail. Quality not quantity in art.
Keep at it bro.

Try detailing out the High-Class dome roofed house. I've heard some talk of possible need for unique upper class homes to individualize some hammerfell cities even more.
Try and hold true to the defined hammerfell themes, but make it unique as well (not at all saying you haven't):D
If you get some nice detail goin on I'll try and model this home for you.

So I expanded on two of the houses, one is a huge villa, the other one a medium sized high class exterior, as seen before. Hope you like it! I'm bad at textures that I don't have, I shade things like wood and stone, which I have around my house. Not sandstone, though. The modeler could maybe use a sand tex, like sand.tx or whatever it is? Again, if you want me to full size anything, just ask.

Been a week, so I'm posting something new (not that I'm posting only every week). Recently I've been interested in bamboo. I am doing an art project in school where we are designing a font. Mine is bamboo. So I've been learning how to draw bamboo the last day or two, and I drew up this chair (yes, in class like I always do. That's where I get my inspiration! lol) If anyone has any bamboo-drawing tips, they are greatly accepted
This is a MC-HC chair; it has cloth, leather, and bamboo. Enjoy!

Here's a more middle/upper class throne-ish chair that I drew. It's made of bamboo and cloth/leather: Bamboo structure, cloth or leather seat and backing, and leather straps woven into the backing and seats which connect to the bamboo to attach the cloth/leather backings/seat. My CA thread hasn't seen a lot of action lately. Any reason? Am I a terrible drawer? lol

The shape of the chair is interesting. However, the materials used are way too cheap to be upper class (that chair should be lower class). If you are going to do middle/upper class art, take a look at what everyone else has made. If you want to do upper class, look at umbinc's furniture set. We'll most likely follow that style when there's an upper class FCG.
