Problem w/ Bloodmoon (not weather related) - SOLVED

Post by TennysonXII »

I really want to use the mod, but I can't. Since Bloodmoon has been patched, I have to "re-save" the esm in the Construction Set. I can't figure out how to save a file as a master file, so when I try to save, it automatically saves as an esp. Can anybody help?

Note: I was having similar load problems with other esp files, and when I loaded them in the CS and saved them again, the problem was fixed.
By the way... Do you happen to know what the fine is here in Cyrodiil for necrophilia? Just asking.

TESDTK can convert files from .esm to .esp and back. You can find TESDTK on our utilities page.

Are you talking about the warning "Certain plugins couldn't find the correct versions of the master files they depend on" that pops up while loading the game? If so, just click "yes" (continue running executable) and the game will load as normal. This error is extremely common due to the various versions of Morrowind modders and end users operate under, and it rarely results in problems.

Alternatively, are you saying that the TR master files claim to require a different version of certain master files than the ones you have (BLOODMOON.ESM and/or others are in all capital letters)? If this is the case, your version of Bloodmoon is not fully patched. All TR files are based on the highest versions of all three Morrowind master files.

If neither of these is what you mean, I don't know what the issue could be. Patching the program does not require you to re-save the master file, since this is not possible without third party tools and an official patch would never require you to use external applications. Is this a user-made patch that you are trying to apply?

Hit the nail on the head. This is the error I'm seeing in the file summary:
Summary wrote:Bloodmoon.esm is required for this file to be loaded, and it has changed since this file was last saved. You might experience problems with the game.
Unfortunately, I don't know how Bloodmoon isn't patched, since this is the first thing I did after I downloaded Map 1. I think this error might explain the problem:
Patch Warning wrote:Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done, since file contents do not match.
I assumed that this meant that I had already installed the patch at an earlier date, but I must have been wrong. In that case, how can I fix this?

just to be clear, you are installing from purchased morrowind disks and patching with the regionally appropriate version of the bloodmoon patch right. (are there regional differences? I forget...)

Yup, I have the disks and know to install regionally appropriate patches. I can't imagine stealing an Elder Scrolls game, let alone any game.

Are you using Windows Vista?

Yeah, I use Vista.

Edit: Vista doesn't matter. I don't know how I fixed it, but when I tried loading the mod, it worked. Go figure, huh?

Anyway, I hope none of you lost too much sleep over this (I know you probably didn't). Thanks for both the help and the awesome mod!
