As our intention is to complete the entirety of Tamriel, why are we only focused on one province for Oblivion at a time? Unlike Morrowind the provinces are smaller for the OB world space and I’m sure we can double up exteriors, or at least provinces that are similar. Summerset, Valenwood, and Black Marsh are too detailed. But we could be working on Elseweyre with Hammerfell as both would share desert exteriors.
I would be the first to say they are certainly not alike at all in flavor, but Elsewerye and Hammerfell share common geography. I won’t push for any change, but ask if this approach was thought of before and if so, why the group choose against it.
Can we broaden our scopes?

As I understand it, the project's goal is to create one province per engine, not the entire continent. The workload with the current provinces is massive as it is and if more were added the project would either collapse under the weight or simply never release anything.

The problem is mainly not the amount of exterior/interior modders that we have, but the amount of modellers and texturers. The idea is currantly completley unfeasable, and even with a full team of modellers/texturers, wouldn't it be much smarter and more feasable if we did one province at a time so that there would be some sort of release rate, and not as much need for huge amounts of management?

Hamerfell and Elsewyr are not all that similar in geography when you look closer, and are VERY different as far as cultures. Next to nothing from one province could be used in the other.
This said, and even if they could, we wouldn't want to spread ourselves out. We aren't exactly a huge group on the OB front to begin with.

Because, even after three years since OB's release, we're still only halfway through the landscape generation of the first part of our first province.
We're progressing at extremely low speed, and I seriously doubt we'll gain momentum any time soon. The Elder Scrolls community is filled with people eager to help, but not with people qualified to help. Another thing, just look at the grand scale projects that are announced almost at a daily basis over at the official forums. 99 % of them die after a month, and the rest of us get the usual response "cool I'll dl when it's done".

It do not feel it is going particularly slow. It's going at an expectable rate, given the amount of modders, their experience, and the task at hand.Menotex wrote:Then let me broaden this thread's theme. Why are we slow? What is clogging the OB pipe so to speak?
What can/will/could we(as a mod group) do to fix the clog.
