Stirk 1.0 Released!

Post by Lady Nerevar »

Version 1.1 is now live! Make sure to update if you downloaded previously, this version fixes the errors of the initial release.

Yep, that's right, after a whole lot of work, frustration, and anticipation the final version of Stirk is finally out! I suppose all of you know what it is by now, but if you don't read about it in our official forum thread.

Download it here:

Congrats Tamriel Rebuilt for their first final release ever! May more final releases follow soon! Map 1 and 2 are underway, map 3 is getting ready for beta and Hammerfell starts to look absolutely awesome. Keep up the good work! :D

Great to see this one being final. Nice work my friends. Downloading it now.

The TES Nexus file was giving me problems, the archive seems to be damaged and winrar or 7zip are unable to unpack it.

The PlanetElderScrolls file was all fine.

CONGRADS!!! Looks amazing, however dialog goes bye so fast, it's impossible for me to follow. I end up clicking multiple times on one topic. Is this normal?

Yeah, the dialogue thing is done or you (meaning "head of sound" or "head of Oblivion") plan to fix it with a "patch" release?
Is OoT included?

Stirk has OoT included.
PoHa: how can we best this trio of trouble? who will save us from this menace of sub-par models? what will we do?
PoHa: I know! we'll shoot an Aro at them
Aro: you have only one Aro missile!
PoHa: yes, but its heat seeking and quite possibly indestructible

sorry man, thats all on me. i took that quite directly from the readme, part of which i wrote.

Night0205: do you have the latest version? It includes silent voice files so dialog should go at a normal speed. In fact, it should be a little too slow for most people.

My name also was never changed in the readme. Its still that silly old account name I had a long time ago. :P

EDIT: Oh right, and to add something meaningful into this. There are a couple of voices that do seem to go too fast, but only a few.
I noticed that when playing it last night.

I downloaded from Planet Elder Scrolls. It's the second download i've ever added, besides Unofficial Oblivion Patch, maybe that's it? But almost every new dialog you guys have added goes by really fast, same speed, a couple seconds.

I happily had absolutely no involvement in stirk. Congrats to all who stuck with that milestone.

You know what's also popular? Enormous flying cities and ridable dragons. Maybe TR should invest in navigable ships and underwater cities.

The problem with Dialogue going to fast has been found and can be easily fixed by anyone.

Go into the ..\Data\Sound folder and rename the folder 'voices' to 'voice'. Each sound file is about 10 seconds long I believe, so this should be more than adequate for this. ;)

Can an Admin add this to the descriptions on PES and TESNexus?

EDIT: Ah, I forgot to mention. If you already have a 'voice' folder just move the contents of 'voices' into that folder for it to work properly.

Yep, moving voices to voice folder worked. Thanks.

Alright i got something for ya, maybe, unless it's somehow just my computer. When i look out towars the mainland from stirk i noticed that places in the water, like whole cells disappeared. I tried to swim to it, and i think it's that point that says you can't swim any more, then i fell and died at the ocean floor. Just letting you know :)

Ok. I have downloaded Stirk, installed, played it a bit, looks amazing. Very nice landscape and interiors, good AI, maybe even better than vanilla Oblivion's. Very good dialogue and journal entries too. Just a pair of very minor and almost unnoticeable world errors which I will report in the error reporting forum as soon as possible, nothing major though. The mod is shiny and works great. Definitely a fine addition to Oblivion.

I will look forward for the upcoming full voice acting, which seems to be in the working AFAIK.

I noticed that as well and I was wondering how to fix the issue. Thanks.

Hi there, just finished playing through Stirk (V1.1) today awesome island and quest line, however there is a large bug in the main quest line.

When the player reaches the point where his inventory is removed and returned to him further on in the ruin, no quest items are returned to the player. I had the Amulet of Kings and one of the bits needed for repairing the orrery quest these were not returned with the rest of me inventory, oddly any other items required for the orrery quest disappear when they enter my inventory.

Just thought I'd inform you guys ;)
