Túrelio's Art Thread

Post by Túrelio »

Hey guys I will be using this thread to just post all my art, especially stuff not related to the Dres or any other specific threads.

Right now, I am working on some frescoes for the Velothi tileset, since we only have two as far as I know. I can probably get a good number of them, but if you have an idea for a scene that might look good as a fresco let me know. They should be at least Dunmer related, and most likely Temple related. The best would be scene's from a story.

Here are the vanilla frescoes:

The Tribunal, and then a scene of the Exodus:

Here are my frescoes:

Vivec(and compensating for the stretch):

Dunmer/Chimer Warrior:

(More will be added to this post)

Edit: I dirtied them up as was suggested by Haplo.
Also, I am unsure how I would go about getting these added as objects to TR_Data. If I have to apply the textures to the object first let me know.

These look awesome :) Do you have them in a higher-than-texture resolution? Because I do retex's sometimes, and if no details need to be lost, all the better.

Perhaps one of a (sexy) Almalexia.

Not the frescoes, it was easier to leave them at the right texture and work on top of it, that way I don't waste time doing details that wont come out when it is downsized. Sexy Almalexia? Have to think on that one.

On these however, I do have a much higher resolution, because it turned out to be much easier working in a high res. I attached the PSD with the full resolution to this post.

Perhaps for an additional shrine with new blessings. No saint in particular, just a Holy Ordinator. Since we are working in Necrom and Indoril territories now, I figured some of these might be useful.

Again, if we need some other additional shrines or something similar let me know.

Dang. Those would be really nice to have.

The two velothi frescoes appear to be slightly less saturated than the originals, though.

Well, that is the idea, to get these to whoever might need them. Maybe we can go back and replace a few of the vanilla frescoes already placed with one of these as well.

Anyways, here is what one of them looks like in the editor and on the model. Saturation doesn't seem that off, at least compared with the Tribunal fresco, but I'll see if there is anything I can do about it.

Oh. My. God.
Túrelio the frescoes are awesome! Just a few idea:

¤The sexy snake-queen Almalexia,
¤Clockwork-wizard Sotha Sil,
¤The Thirty-Six Lessons of Vivec: Sermon Fourteen

"Vivec wept as he slew all those around him with his terrible new spear. He named it MUATRA, which is Milk Taker, and even the Chimeri mystics knew his fury. Anyone struck by Vivec at this time turned barren and withered into bone shapes. The path of bones became a sentence for the stars to read, and the heavens have never known children since. Vivec hunted down the biters one by one, and all their progeny, and he killed them all by means of the Nine Apertures, and the wise still hide theirs from Muatra." (I know what is the 'hidden' meaning, but lets just take it literally, as it is written)

¤Maybe the Anticipations, together as the Tribunal fresco, or separate?

Wow, awesome. :)
Aeven asked me to take a shot at morrowind frescoes a while ago, but I think you're doing better than I ever could. Especially the ones at the top.

Too good!

One thing that would be brilliant for Dres territory is a fresco that mirrors the 'Tribunal' one, but has the three Good Daedra instead. And also maybe Trioliths for them.

And that Ordinator shrine needs to be in Necrom. Good lord, how it does.

Awesome. Really good job, I'd like too to see the other two tribunes ;) Maybe a "Battle of the Red Mountain" too (maybe different version for different account... ;) I don't think the ONLY Dissident Priest shrine is on Azura's Coast in Vvardenfell... :P)

In response to your question about TR_Data, I can make a claim thread which you can claim, and then post the textures in the proper format (.dds), then I will add them to TR_Data. I'm not sure if we have fresco meshes though, do we? I know that often they are simply part of an interior velothi shell.

Simply cloning the fresco tile (which is not a full tile, but can be attached to a Velothi tile) and assigning these frescoes should suffice.

Ok Haplo, sounds good. I'll work on finishing up those first two and getting them applied to the meshes.

Here is a WIP of an Almalexia fresco, I stretched it to show how it would appear in-game, abouts:

Hey Túrelio. Any news here? I'd really love to know if you've made any progress and stuff, or have anything ready to be handed to modellers (like that triolith design).

Re: Almalexia up there, I think that's a little too 'overtly' 'sexual', rather than just 'sexy' as in 'attractive', which is I think what Aeven meant.

Having just been playing it recently, something more along the lines of the style of some of the priestesses of the game Okami would be more fitting, I feel.

Here is a good example. The 'attractiveness' is there (and not exactly concealed), but it doesn't form the point of the picture. The pose is more neutral.

Also I think the 'stuff' and smoke going on around is a good idea. Adding more levels of detail and somewhat obscuring Lexy in it all might be cool.

Anyway, it's late, I'm rambling. Sorry for somewhat necromancing this thread.

Hey, Turelio, would you mind posting the DDS (or PSD, PNG, TGA...) of those textures? JPG is a lossy format, and DDS is lossy as well, so if converting from JPG to DDS the pics lose a lot of their quality uselessly...

Thanks BC, yea I agree with that, I already planned on scrapping that one and starting over. I haven't really worked on these any more, been rather busy with school work and life I guess.

No problem Gez, here are the two frescoes in PSD format. I was going to apply them to models myself, but I just haven't been able to get around to it. I'm also including a PSD of a blank fresco. It could be used on a model I suppose, but it is more as a resource for others.

God damn! How did I miss this thread. Fuckin' genius. I love them. They should be implemented wherever the vanilla ones are. THey'll give more variety that's for sure, plus some places are devoted to a single Tribune. Could you make one of Sotha Sil. The temple at Kragenmoor is devoted to him. A couple Map3 temples I did are devoted to Vivec.

Well these technically aren't Concept Art, but it is Tamriel-related art, so I guess I'd post them here anyhow. Maybe a few ideas will come of it anyways.

Hey Turelio, I've been following your art threads and I must say I love your drawings. You are really able to catch Morrowind feel in a manner that astonishes me.
One again, you made some nice new additions! Keep going! :D

TR is really lucky to have so talented guys working on it!

P.S.: Those telvanni drawings are amazing!

Yea I've seen that one before. Usually it's not a big deal, but it's nice to ask the artist for permission to use their art, even if its just for an avatar or banner. Artists get paranoid about people stealing their art, it happens a lot. Most wont care about avatars though, but its still a good idea to ask.

Oh... yes, you're quite right...
I can't remember exactly who the artist is, but I'll search and if I can find it, I'll ask permission.
Actually, I dind't even think about that when I was searching for ordinator image...

Thanks for advice! :D

No problem, like I said it isn't a big deal, but some people prefer if ppl did, and since the TES community is quite small, the chances of the artist come here are fairly good.
