Stirk: The Annoying Ruin - SOLVED

Post by Akul »

I am the point when miners discover the secong Ancient Gate and when I, the brothers and Mr. Orc are trying to get deeper and deeper into the ruin. The quest is filled with bugs (like NPC's jumping into traps, them claiming that the ruin is their house and that I should leave, them following me when I am supposed to be alone...) and I don't intend to list them all here. Since the reason for all thiese bugs appearing is probably that I am doing something wrong, can somebody please post me a detailed walkthrough of what exactly I should do and what NPC's SHOULD be doing at the moment.

Actually, these are just Oblivion AI issues, I think. Sometimes i've had these problems, sometimes I didn't. But, just because these NPCs aren't doing the proper things, it shouldn't stop the quest from working.
The NPCs AI is really weird in that ruin (and in all of Oblivion for that matter), and we've tried to fix it, its just really hard and obviously we haven't been able to.
So right now I suggest you just do as the journal tells you, it should work just fine. If you get the "I HAVE NO GREETING" error then just use the local map to see where you go.

But, nonetheless, when I get a chance to look at Stirk again, I'll write up a walkthrough of this spot if you really want it.

Somehow I managed to end the quest and release my wrath on the poor Steward.

Thanks anyway. Hopefully you'll manage to improve the quest later on. :)
