Currently they have a retex of the extravagant robe. It's rather pretty, and more than fit for purpose.
David, if you can come up with a simple (and implementable) yet stunning design, you might be able to convince one of our precious few modelers to make it.
But as it stands, it's not something we 'need' as such. Up to you if you want to draw it.

if you want to model it, then go for it, no ones going to stop you, and i'm sure any models you make would be appreciated
i would keep the colour scheme of necrom in mind, maybe have the robe match the colour of the necrom ordinators?

Those are some nice designs. I Really like the hat and green scarf-thing on the last one. I don't like the skull mask though. To me, it seems like a horrible fantasy-cliche to put skulls on everything that has something to do with death.

A friend of mine has a quote he busts out every time we sit down to play D&D, these days.
"You know why it's cliche'? Because it F**ing WORKS!"
He and I have been designing campaigns and videogames long enough that we are both disgusted with the idea of forced originality. Originality is good and great, but too much, and you have the risk of alienating your audience.
Originality is best left in the right places. In some cases, it is better to deal with a cliche than a totally unique idea. Just for the sake of consumer comfort.

maybe something more stylized, like an animal skull or just the representation of a skull. but im not too fond of the idea in general.
maybe have the robe be similar to that of the bonelord?

How about this: No mask, just a really low hood.

Sorry about it being incomplete. Just trying to get the idea across. (Note all the borders of the robe, and all the streamers have runes, I just didn't bother drawing them all.)
I know it seems a bit more Aldmeri, but Veloth himself was educated in the Summerset Isles (Artaeum), and took a lot of their influence northeast with him.

Indeed. Especially since masks are already done in Necrom, with the crying ordinators.Myzel wrote:To me, it seems like a horrible fantasy-cliche to put skulls on everything that has something to do with death.
Note that the robes that Mehra Milo is wearing are supposed to be Temple priest robes (though there are also Imperial Cult members who wear them and, in TR at least, normal people). You can tell from the fact that all or almost all Temple priests wear them, as do the ordinators at the one Daedric shrine. Any unique robes for Necrom should be at least similar to those designs.

The Necrom robes don't have to necessarily be similar to regular ones. Necrom is an ancient city whose style has changed little over many centuries. The robes its priests wear should be similar, being a style from Morrowind's distant past but one that is still being worn out of tradition.

Jesus Christ Yeti come on. They do have to be similar in style because that creates a thematic unity between all parts of the Temple. It doesn't matter if in your imaginary history of something that doesn't exist it is feasible for things to happen blah blah blah, what matters is what looks. right.

FWIW I don't think the Necrom priests need new robes, unless they're supposed to be different from normal priests in some way. Maybe a recolour of the existing priest outfit. Mourners, on the other hand...

Yeah I know Sload, sometimes I can get alittle carried away with imaginary historys. Sometimes I just start rambling on and on about stuff like this.Jesus Christ Yeti come on. They do have to be similar in style because that creates a thematic unity between all parts of the Temple. It doesn't matter if in your imaginary history of something that doesn't exist it is feasible for things to happen blah blah blah, what matters is what looks. right.
Using Sloads example of thematic unity: It would be nice for the Necrom priests to have ditinct robes that fit with the theme of Necrom. Necrom has its own archetecture set, and its own ordinator armor. There's no reason its priests can't have speicel robes that would add to Necrom's uniqueness.FWIW I don't think the Necrom priests need new robes, unless they're supposed to be different from normal priests in some way.

Oh yes. Forks made from the spines of the ancestors. Beware the ancient artifact that is Veloth's Spine! A deadly fork like no other! It has the magnificent power of luring the people to follow it's wielder, which has been used in many situations to gather an empire fit for an empire.

I can't see the harm in a few people tossing in some extra work when they don't have much else to do.
If the retex is fine, a new mesh might be fantastic. Concept art is just that, conceptual, and not actually a final reflection of the game itself. Stuff gets cut. Simple as that.
I need stuff to put into a showcase, and showing my old work isn't something I'm interested in. I'd like to take concept art from this forum and transform it into something viable for the sake of proving my skill with a medium, a style, and conforming to artistic differences within a team.
So, I'm gonna get some vertexing work done-ish, and it's not just for the sake of doing something for TR, but more for the intent of making an effort at a showcase.

I knew it...David House wrote: TF MERGE: K i am no good whatsoever at modeling, I tryed on multiple occasions today, and im garbage.
You're biting off more than you can chew, modeling takes skill, don't expect to be able to model amazingly after a few weeks in blender. And don't expect to be able to model great after watching a video of someone else modeling.
Complete the tutorials, start small, learn to use the tools effectively in combination with each other, and even then you wont be great. And that's because modeling takes experience. Trust me, it's a fact. Also join a modeling forum, read the tips the experienced modelers give there, and ask any questions you have on those forums unless it is directly related to morrowind or oblivion modeling, cause the people on those forums are amazing.
edit: to be fair, there's no-one here I would call amazing at modeling at these forums (me included obviously), we're mediocre at best, just keep modeling, get some tips from fellow modelers, and you'll get better in no time.
