Question of Lore and Artifacts in Tamriel Rebuilt

Post by Sarudak »

So I was thinking. Bethesda always has this funny habit (I suppose it's expected) of putting all (or nearly all) their legendary artifacts into every game. Which I think it's funny because each of the games only takes place in one province (or part of one) why should all the fabled artifacts of lore happen to be there.

In any case the real question is what about mainland Morrowind? Will the highest rewards have to be neutered because all the most powerful artifacts are already accounted for or will the TR team create new powerful, legendary artifacts that the player can find? Personally I like the second idea of making new artifacts because I'm cool with adding onto lore but purists may object, and I really loved how they would show up in the most unexpected places like how the Staff of Magus was just held by a mage in a cave and if it weren't for the Mage's Guild quest you could probably never see it unless you went randomly exploring.

I think there are a few artifacts you have to play around with if you wanted to add like the ebony blade, wabbajack, sanguine rose, etc. But quite limited and I don't know how well the MW scripting engine would really handle said items. What does everyone think?

There'll be some pretty good high-powered unique artefacts here and there on the mainland.

So far, the TR artifacts have been quest related and/or are minor artifacts. TR has invented several major artifacts but their presence in lore is confirmed by art/scultpure in both TES3 and TES4.

Don't worry. There are tons of artifacts in TR. They just aren't famous.

I think most if not all of those can be found on Vvardenfell already. Although I think we have a Daedric Crescent in TR_Data.

I know its a long way off but I wouldnt mind seeing some Nordic Artifacts for Map 5, maybe make some things dedicated to the Nedic/(Nordic) Gods or significants.

Lack of artifacts

Post by Monkey Man »

I believe that with arftifacts you should stay with the motto "the more the merrier" this will allways make things more interesting as long as there is about the same artifact to land area ratio as in the morrowind base game when including the expansions.

There are some artifacts belonging or associated with Imperial Cult saints: Alessia, Kaladas, etc.

The daedric Lords enjoy playing with their artifacts and enjoy having them come into the possession of the next important person or as Umbra would say if it could talk it twists the fate to make the current owner have a convenient death near were the next hero is going to be or it rolls in a river to float to the next hero.
Dunmer 1: AHHHHH The Argonians are invading,
Dunmer 2: What luck, i just bought 200 new cage.
