Faction Questions

Post by Artaxerxes »

Hi. I'm sorry for these questions are probably answered elsewhere already. But my computer is old so I won't be playing TR till I get a new one, and in the meantime I'm so curious and fascinated with your project, that I'm wandering in here asking questions you're most likely sick and tired of answering ;)

I got the part that mainland Telvanni and Vvardenfell Telvanni function completely separately, and with the quarantine, that suits me fine.

I was wondering, are there any 'rewards' for completing the mainland Telvanni faction thingy... like, do you get your own fortress or any power over any NPC or anything?
Don't worry I won't be shattered if the answer's no, that doesn't detract from it looking like a wonderful game (can't try it yet as I said, but still), and then I'd anyway have Tel Uvirith ;)

Also, do you prevent people from belonging to one faction on Vvardenfell and another on the mainland? For quarantine or no quarantine, it might look strange being member of House Redoran on Vvardenfell and then House Telvanni on the mainland - not that this would be any huge problem anyways, since obviously the player could just NOT do that ;) so I'm really just curious

The reward for completing the Telvanni quest line will involve you having a tower and power over people to some extent, however you will not build this tower like the strongholds in the original game. Note that our current releases does not contain the completed Telvanni quest line, which takes place over two maps and is bloody massive.

As for factions conflicting, as with the original game you cannot join mainland Telvanni if you are a member of any other house (vanilla or TR versions), however due to TR's policy of not editing any part of the original game, being a member of a mainland great house does not prevent you from joining a Vvardenfel great house. For example, you are still able to join Vvardenfel Hlaalu even if you are a member of Mainland House Telvanni.

Alright, thanks :) Well, that sounds wonderful - and as I said, I need a new computer someday, so I might just wait for the final Map 1 (also, I'll be starting a new char then, so I can easily just spend some months in Vvardenfell before trying your mod. So even if you take 5 years making the final Map 1, it still won't be a problem for me... I'd love to help out, if I wasn't compeletely useless!:p)

Well that sounds alright too.In any case, players start in Vvardenfell, so most are probably likely to join a faction there first, rather than crisscross back and forth to use that hole. And anyways, if they do the latter and join 2 different houses, then it's their own fault if it looks curious :D I can't see how any of this could be better. Looking forward :D

Actually, one correction for MowSkwoz.

If the player joins a House on the mainland, they are also automatically drafted into that faction on Vvardenfell.
