TR Map 2 help - SOLVED

Post by Need Help With Download »

I need help downloading map 2

Whenever i download it it comes up with some exstracting problems.

Whenever i register my BSA it says that it has already been registered, when i have not yet done anything

Could this be with me using a very new computer system?

Or using J-zip for exstraction

Or Parental controlls

My question is not directed at you, David House, so please don't answer it. This person is obviously having problems doing exactly what you just brushed off in your post, which makes what you said absolutely pointless. Another word for it would be spam.

That may be causing your troubles. Try re-installing the game to a different directory or a different drive. Either that, or disable Vista User Account Control (only if you are the administrator of your computer).

vista tries to make things 'safe' by disabling some abilities for things in that folder (making files read only and stuff). this prevents you from editing the ini file and often using mods in general.

Because vista is a terrible operating system, and things often don't work right if you install to that directory, for precisely the reason mentioned in the post before mine.

its not under textures and meshes. its just in the Morrowind folder.

for me the path is C:\Games\Morrowind, but yours is probably different.

One of the Morrowind files will be .exe and the other will be .ini, right click and select properties to check. However, if you have Vista and have not disabled UAC any changes you make to the morrowind.ini file will most likely not be saved.

I thought that ReadMe error was fixed in the latest release? Ah well, scroll down to the section titled [Archives], it should say:

Code: Select all

Archive 0=Tribunal.bsa
Archive 1=Bloodmoon.bsa
Add a third line beneath those two:

Code: Select all

Archive 2=TR_Data.bsa

I think I know what the problem is, did you extract it straight to data files? with vista you cant do that, because of "security" extract it to desktop then drag it into the folder, if that isn't it then sorry, I've got no clue.

David House, please don't interrupt others in the middle of one solution with a random solution of your own. If Wolf certifies that MowSkwoz' approach doesn't work, then you can suggest another, but unless you're completely sure that your solution is the correct one to this problem, please wait to avoid confusion.

O.o everything was working fine but when i exstracted things it did not work. I copy and pasted the neccesary files to my desktop for now. Could i simply copy and paste them to the data files or do i NEED to exstract them. Copy and paste works but exstract does not.

Alright tamriel rebuilt i think works now. But is reset all of my files and mods that i had before. This leads to a major problem. When i saved it it said it was missing save file under morrowind program files ect. SO i tried to put a folder into morrowind data files. When I did this i got another message... "Save restarted before previous save..." I dont understand it at all but i could get in to morrrowind if i was the administrator? I can log on to my admenstrator temporaraly.. but after 10 min. it shuts down O.o. Thats not my problem i dont care about htat. I just want morrowind save to work. Auto save and quick save messages are same thing. This may have little or nothing to do with tamriel rebuilt but i thought becuast it screwed up morrowind i should post it here. Sry for doble post but i feel this post is neccesary O.o

but the first one wasn't...

I have no idea what this most recent problem is, but in order to edit things in the program files directory you need to be an administrator. This is why installing to the program files directory is a bad idea. You need to make all the neccesary changes in the .ini file while on the administrator account. If it shuts down automatically after 10 minutes then you need to get your computer fixed. Until then though, take as many times as you need to make these changes as an administrator because I can almost guarantee you won't get it to work otherwise.

Please just install Morrowind to a different directory. Create a file called 'Games' or something on your hard drive and install Morrowind to there instead.

Use Windows Explorer. Go to the 'C' drive. Right click, select New, 'Folder'. Name your folder. Install there.
