Firstly just let me say a huge thank you for all the work you have done bringing new life to both Morrowind and Oblivion, I am enjoying the new areas available for both games, and am eagerly awaiting the release of new content and maps for both games - I don't care when it will be available as long as it's good - and I am sure it will be!!
I just wanted to let you know that I had a very weird experience when playing Oblivion and visiting Stirk for the first time. I took the ship there from Anvil (the shipmaster seems to have ended up treading water in Anvil dock, I hope he can swim OK!)
I got off the ship at the dock in Stirk, I saved my game. I wandered around Stirk for a bit in the dead of night, then headed back to Anvil by ship (hoping that the ship's captain would end up back on his ship rather than in the process of drowning, unfortunately he was still in the sea, he seems to be quite buoyant though). I headed to the Anvil city gates and saved my game again in a new slot. Everything looked fine. My husband was demanding use of the computer at this point, so I exited my game.
When I came back to my game later, I reloaded the save from Anvil, and my entire world was upside down. The ground was up and the sky was down, and all the mouse controls were reversed - up was down and right was left.
So I went back to the previous save, when I had just got off the ship at the dock in Stirk. This time I got a very colourful kalaidascope effect, couldn't even tell where the ground ended and the sky began.
I had to go back to a save before I went to Stirk in order for the world to be the right way up again. I did a bit of an experiment after that, and found I didn't have any problem at all if I used fast travel to get to Stirk and back, but going by ship caused the same problem if I reloaded a game after visiting Stirk, whether I was currently on the island or on the mainland.
I am not looking for a solution to this issue - I have several other mods loaded so there is plenty of potential for a conflict, and I don't need anyone to worry themselves about sorting out a problem that might just have occurred due to a freak of nature (or should I say a freak conflict between mods that no-one else may ever experience) and certainly don't expect anyone to go to any effort to find out why this happened - just to make the team aware that I had a very strange issue crop up in the unlikely event it happens to anyone else (so you can advise them to avoid ship travel to and from Stirk), chances are it will never happen to anyone else though!
I have Oblivion and Shivering Isles patched to the most recent version, and the other mods I am using are as follows (all are the most recent available version as of 24th Aug 09): Unofficial Oblivion Patch, Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, OBSE, Kvatch Rebuilt, ssjheero Bruma Mages Guild Restored, The Lost Spires, Belda Elysium, Mountain Tower, Enchantment Restore, Krystinas Enchantment Misc Tweaks, Quest Award Leveller, Regrowing Nirnroot, Reznods Mannequins, SDCrystal Ball Lamps, Lamps of Oblivion, and Nighteye Goggles - and of course TR_OOT_Main, and TR_Stirk.
Once again thank you all for an amazing project, it's very very much appreciated.

I've got the same problem. *sometimes* after coming back from Stirk and saveng somewhere elce, quiting Oblivion, and then starting up and loading that save everything is upside down and everything except for land and static meshes (like city walls and such) is missing. And if I load savegame made on Stirk - and travel to the same place - everything is fine. Weird. I've got only Oblivion and everything that comes with GotY + Stirk and OoT. That's all. Videocard seems to be in a good shape, all other games I got installed (L4D, Bully and Fallout1) work just fine. And yes, I updated drivers about a week ago from nvidia website.
Any ideas? Because that just looks weird.
Oh, that reminds me of one more strange glitch on Stirk - right after arrival some poor old man walks near and asks for a coin. I hit "use" to enter the dialog and give him a coin and for a second before I saw usual dialog view with the talking head and frozen world behind - there was a strange glitch - like random triangles flashing for a second and then everything went back to normal.

I've never seen the upside-down thing before. But who manufactured your card? I had an Asus one years back that had an nVidia chipset, and it was a turd, glitched up all the time. Overheating is another issue with GFX cards, you might want to take a look at your internal temp.umbinc wrote:I've got the same problem. *sometimes* after coming back from Stirk and saveng somewhere elce, quiting Oblivion, and then starting up and loading that save everything is upside down and everything except for land and static meshes (like city walls and such) is missing. Why would that be an issue if the problem ONLY apears *randomly* after installing Stirk and ONLY in Oblivion. Fallout 3 for instance has the same engine and I had no problems with that one. I have no idea about who manufactured the card. Where can I find the info about that? It's NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT. It's relatively new (bought it half a year ago). And every single game I have runs just fine. Oblivion included. No problems. Until I installed Stirk. Then it happens randomly. Although today for instance it didn't happen. Not a single time. Yesterday it did. Twice.

gro-Dhal - yes I am one and the same, thank you for recommending I try the TR content! Very pleased with it indeed, just wandering round Morrowind TR Map 2 is a treat, even with no quests yet.
umbinc - Now that you mention it, that's what happened to me. I got off the ship and spoke to the beggar chappie who sleeps by the lighthouse - there was a momentary swirling - his face stayed still but everything behind him swirled around for just a split second - it was after that I experienced problems - I had assumed it was the ship travel, but you've triggered my memory about that.
Thanks for the replies everyone! It's definitely not my graphics card, it's fairly new with the right drivers, and everything else works like a dream.
QUICK QUEST QUERY regarding Stirk main quest - I can't seem to get started on it. I did one quest (following up rumours) involving finding the lost miner's body parts, and took them to the priest. This was weeks ago (in game time) and I have been back to both Winston and the priest but there are no new dialogue options. How do I get started on the main quest for Stirk? No one in the town is giving me any hints or rumours, the only other quest I have found is to find the ship which was supposed to be bringing a woman's lover to Stirk (sorry, I can't recall the names of the NPCs!) Many thanks!
