Finding that hidden mine
On an older file, which is probably about a year old, before Map 2 was out, I had found a gold mine on the mainland which I assumed was lost. There were no guards or anything and it was high in the mountains and I distinctly remember there being two rope bridges I had to cross to get to the entrance. My problem is that looking back, I have no idea where it was. I searched for about 4 hours straight today and I thought I found the place again, it was in the mountains, had two rope bridges near it, but at the place where I assumed there would be an entrance, was just a roamer. No lost gold mine or anything. Now I am beginning to wonder if this isn't some lost mine that was changed between maps 1 and 2. If I found the correct spot and it was removed. Also, I checked on UESP.net and the only gold mine it had was near Port Telvannis and it was inhabited by guards. So yeah... my question I guess, is where is that lost mine? I really really want the gold nuggets for my displays and stuff. Any help at all would be a blessing.
Thanks in advance!

You could load up maps 1 and 2 in the CS and use it to find the location of all the gold deposits in the game, perhaps? Gold is a TR addition, so it'll only show up mines on the correct landmass.
Other than that, the mine you're thinking of might have been repurposed for some reason?

I remember the mine you're talking about, and yeah it was revamped/removed in the latest version of Map 1. I cannot remember its name.
EDIT: It may be you're talking about the Balsincag Diamond Mine. That's the one I was thinking of. It was revamped, not removed.

I think I did move some mines during map 1 fix, due to theirs illogical position and this was one of them. The entrance must be somewhere nearby in somewhat more reasonable place. I hope not finding a same plain, non-quest-related gold mine on the place it was before did not ruin your game experience too much though

There wasn't a lot of central planning in the early days of TR. An interior was like was really more like someone made the entrance for a cave, then left, then someone made it a gold mine, then left, then it was overlooked during NPCs. It wasn't intentionally anything.

My memory could be off but I thought the Balsincag Diamond Mine was the mine that was initially across the two rope bridges, up on a ledge. Nowadays there's a roamer there instead. The mine was simply moved to the valley floor at some point during an update, almost directly underneath the two bridges. If that's not the right interior then I apologize for any misleading on my part.Anonymous wrote:Hmm.... well, I can try and find it. Any idea where that diamond mine is? I wouldn't mind exploring it.
I do know though that when you reach the diamond mine you should do as much exploring in there as possible. It's a big interior.

Hmm... that is exactly the place.
Where the roamer is. I guess I was mistaken when I thought it was a gold mine, but I would like to think my memory was correct. <sigh> Oh well, either way, it will allow me to have more valuables for my vault. Thank you. Maybe if I get around to it, I will display my treasures I have earned. <chuckles>
