maybe dumb question
Right, so after becoming officially addicted to Oblivion I lost access to the system and my laptop simply can't run it. (Well, it can, but it lags so badly that I can't survive a fight with a mudcrab.) All this to say that I picked up my old copy of Morrowind again and started playing. I'm having fun, just like always, but the journal system is even more frustrating after playing Oblivion and seeing how easily the journal was navigated. Does anyone know of a mod that will make Morrowind's journal act more like Oblivion's?

Yes, I actually have the GotY edition, but I didn't want to add in Tribunal just yet so that I don't have to deal with assassins. Lets me sleep easier. (lol) I never got to actually play my Tribunal game though because shortly after I loaded Tribunal onto my game Oblivion came out and I abandoned it only to have a HD blowout. Bad luck I guess, but how close is it? Does it keep track of the individual quest lines for you? If it does I'm gonna do a little dance and deal with the assassins.

i think BM might add it too, so you can try installing that first (not sure, someone back me up)
It does let you keep track of the quests, sorting them by name. it doesnt sort them by status however, so your completed and active quests are all together. It also lets you search specific terms (not sure if this was in vanilla). its a big improvement.

N, it does let you switch between Active and Completed. It's also indeed a vanilla feature (I think) to be able to search by topic.
And D, don't install Bloodmoon first if you intend to install Tribunal ever. It will screw your game somewhat. Always install Tribunal first, and get a DB-delaying mod. You can make one yourself in ten seconds.

Actually I just installed both, Tribunal first, and now it keeps crashing, something about cannot load snowflake: Meshes\BM_snow_01.nif I'm just an artist, I don't know anything about computers, not really, so I'm confused.
Alright, I don't know what to do. I've loaded the Bloodmoon patch and double checked to make sure all my stuff is there. I don't know what's wrong with this thing now.

Let me guess.. You're on Vista right?
To fix this you need to install the games manually
First to solve the snowflake error:
Insert the Bloodmoon expansion CD into your CD/DVD drive next navigate to
C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files\Meshes and leave that window open. Next (make sure the Bloodmoon CD is in your drive) go to Computer and right click (D:/) Bloodmoon and click explore then go to the Datafiles folder on the CD. You should notice other sub folders called
BookArt
Icons
Meshes
Textures
First go to Meshes on the CD and copy EVERYTHING into the Meshes folder that you already have open (C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files\Meshes), by clicking and dragging. This should solve the snowflake error.
If you start the game with this done you should notice that instead of the snowflake error you should get a new one. This shows that it’s working and that the game is using the textures that you supplied. So now do the same with every folder in the data files folder on that CD BookArt into the BookArt folder Textures in the Textures folder etc. etc. With that all done try run your game and it should work, finally!
But after a while you should notice more errors. To test this go to the trader in Seyda Neen and an error will appear in the loading of the interior about a missing texture called Netch leather cuirass. This is a texture that was supplied with the Tribunal CD, so more manual copying. Insert the Tribunal CD into your drive, right click explore, go to the data files folder and do the same that you did with the Bloodmoon CD but the only problem is that this time you need to go to the separate sub folders and place them into the separate sub folders on C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files meshes textures etc. because Bloodmoon already created them. You need to go this because if you just select everything in the Tribunal meshes folder and click and drag into the data files folder on you C:/ drive it will overwrite the existing Bloodmoon files this should then fix all if not most of Vista's missing texture problems.

You know what's also popular? Enormous flying cities and ridable dragons. Maybe TR should invest in navigable ships and underwater cities.

This method is better; it saves some space: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=21130Pluto wrote:Let me guess.. You're on Vista right?
