Whoops, soory i forgot about this, its been VERY hot here of late and I'm having enough trouble organising my birthday this saturday without the extra stress of heat. Bah! enough winging! You'd like a review wouldn't you?

Straight off the bat, while loading your .esp i had several warnings/errors pop up. Firstly you seem to have "potentialy duplicated land", this seems to be a 'bashed form' error of some kind (not something I've had to deal with myself). There was also a long list of quest script errors.

Basicaly, at this point your .esp isnt at a stage where i can even open it safely, so i cant really review it untill these issues are resolved.

Hmmm, don't know why those errors pop up. I didn't do anything I don't usually do...oh well. i think I've cleaned them (or at least most of them. As I said you don't have to review the exterior, so issues with these I think you can ignore. Feel free to look it over though. :) ). I've added everything in the Slough Point Census and Excise Office, besides pathing and AI (since that takes so long.) Happy reviewing!

Excuse the double post. I have just finshed writing a biography for King Lhotun that I hope will impress Nanu. I tried to make it as lore friendly as possible, but I'm not entirely sure, so a look over would be greatly apprecitaed. Enjoy. :)


The King of a New Age: The Biography of King Lhotun

King Lhotun is a name that everyone from the arid land of Hammerfell knows. Some love him, some hate him. But however you feel about him, you cannot deny that he is truly an inspirational and influential figure.

Lhotun was born 3E393 to the rulers of the great city of Sentinel, Queen Akorithi and King Camaron. He is the youngest of three children. Lhotun's older brothers is Greklith, and the oldest of the children is the now Queen of Daggerfall, Aubk-i.

Lhotun had an easy life growing up, as is expected from the child of the powerful rulers of the capital of Hammerfell. He played with his siblings in the spectacular gardens of Sentinel in the magnificent palace, while his mother looked on. Lhotun didn't know his father very well. Camaron was an important man, and so had important issues to attend to. Due to disputes over land, notably the small fishing village of Betony, war erupted. The war lasted for two years from 3E402 - 3E403. Camaron returned home in late 3E403, to briefly visit his family. This would be the last time any of them saw him. As the war climaxed in the Cryngaine Field, the King of Sentinel was slain in valiant battle. At the time, Greklith was only 11 years old, and Lhotun was 10, so the Queen took her husband's post as ruler of Sentinel.

Lhotun had everything that he had ever wanted. He was rich, powerful, and well educated. But he was never truly happy. While listening to his private tutor lecture him about the history of Yokuda, Hammerfell, and Tamriel, he would often gaze out the window, staring at the blue sky and clear waters. He would stare at the white walls that surrounded the city until his eyes burned. What lies beyond Sentinel? What are ordinary people like? These are the questions that Lhotun would ask himself. He was exceptionally brilliant, much more so than his brother and sister, who were more interested in other things. Greklith wanted to become a soldier in the Order of the Candle and lead the armies of Sentinel across the Alik'r, conquering the wild Dunedwellers and terrifying beasts that stalked the sands at night. Aubk-i was always flirting with the soldiers and nobles that came traveling to the Palace on business. She was always hoping that a young noble would take a fancy to her and carry her off to a foreign land where she would become the Queen of a rich and powerful country. Instead, the King of Daggerfall, King Gothryd offered her his hand in marriage. She was divided. On one hand, this is what she had always dreamed of. It would also restore friendship between the two states. On the other hand, Gothryd was the murderer of her father. In the end, she accepted. Many from the royal courts of Sentinel condemned her desicion and believed that she was more of a slave in the courts of Daggerfall than a Queen.

A glmipse into Lhotun's future was seen when he was a child. He was often disturbed by his history lessons after having heard of the great divisions in Hammerfell between the Crowns and Forebears. He knew about war, but he had always assumed that Sentinel had only fought High Rock, notably Daggerfall. With Sentinel being so far north, Lhotun had only heard of violent encounters with the people of High Rock, but never conflicts with other native hammerfellians. When he asked his mother about it, she told him that of course the Hammerfellians fought each other. Sentinel was a fiercely Forebear city, and they hated the "filthy Crowns" and their resistance to accept the new ways of life. Lhotun was angered and distraught, not understanding why war against your fellow people was even accepted, let alone encouraged. He asked Greklith about it, and his brother responded with a stony face. "Of course. Everyone knows about the filthy Crowns." Lhotun refused to emerge from his bedroom for three straight days.

When Lhotun was 17, in the year 3E410, a great tragedy befell the city of Hammerfell. A great plague descended upon the city. Many people died, and the royalty was ushered inside the Palace, where they were quarantined. But it was too late. Queen Akorithi was bedridden with the sickness. Lhotun and Greklith were crushed. Upon hearing the news, Aubk-i returned to Sentinel to see her mother. The three children were forbidden to visit their mother, for fear of getting the plague themselves. Greklith, who was very close to Akorithi, defyed orders and snuck inside. He payed the price, and with two weeks, both Queen and Prince were dead.

Lhotun was now the beneficiary of Sentinel. The Court of Sentinel advised him and taught him the way to rule. They shaped him into a successful leader, and within 4 years, when Lhotun was 21, he was leading completely independently. Now that he was a true King, Lhotun used his position to tour the province. He visited all the major Forebear cities and spoke with their leaders. Raha Treigo of Rihad, Duchess Clavilla of Taneth, and Utei Bendassa of Gilane. Lhotun told them of his disgust of war between the Forebears and Crowns. They were surprised, but unsupportive. Forebear or Death, they told him.

Without sucess from the Forebears, he turned his attention to the Crowns. He visited Utei Yaswa Ei-Azel of Hegathe, Ra Pashat Ayaan-Si of Elinhir, and Utei Mañei Ei-Shom of Skaven. They were reluctant to see him at first, but with promises of peaceful negotiations, they obliged. They reacted in a slightly more violent way than the Forebears. Generally, he was forced to leave before the soldiers killed him. Disapointed by his failure, Lhotun returned to Sentinel. He was now 23, and sought to tour the rest of Tamriel now. Perhaps with allies from other provinces, he would be able to unite his warring brethren.

Lhotun began with High Rock. He was granted protection from his sister, but no leaders were willing to talk to him. High Rock was still bitter from Sentinel after years of war and disagreements. Orsinium offered no hekp either. The Orcs were sill violent and bitter toward the Redguards after the conquest of Hammerfell, once the Orc's true land. Skyrim wanted no alliance with Hammerfell, for they still wanted to conquer it. Morrowind was engulfed in its problems with the Nerevarine prophecy and the Sixth House. Black Marsh and Elsywer were too far away to do much help, and they expressed disdain for Lhotun. They wanted nothing to do with foreign wars. Valenwood reacted similarly. The High Elves of Summerset Isles stuck up their noses at the Redguard. Cyrodiil was Lhotun's last hope. The Emperor expressed interest in helping Lhotun, as the Crown and Forebear issue's escalation had been an annoying issue for too much time. He said, however, that he just didn't have enough soldiers to help. Conjurors were springing up all over the place, and an issue with the mysterious cult called the Mythic Dawn was too pressing a matter to spare troops.

Returning home to Sentinel, Lhotun didn't know what to do. His exploits had lasted five years, and he was 28 years old now. But an idea came to him suddenly. He had spent all his time searching for help from foreign countries and cities, but he had ignored the help that was right under his nose. Sentinel! The people of Sentinel would surely help him. Ignoring the protests from the Court, Lhotun emerged from the Palace and faced a huge crowd. Surely everyone from Sentinel had come.

Lhotun delivered a speech that would go down in history. His eloquent soliliquy captivated the citizens and soldiers, and before he was finished, the people of Sentinel had made up their minds. Lhotun has single-handedle created a new political party. The Lhotunics were eager to rise and unite their warring country. Lhotun displaced the skeptical Court with members who would surely provide him with more useful help. The bitter Court members were banished from the city and retreated, not to be heard of again. But the Lhotunics are sure that the scorned Forebears are still around, waiting for Lhotun to make a mistake.

The Order of the Candle became Sentinel's standing army. Lhotun chose the best soldiers as his personal guard, the Baram du Lhotun. The Forebears and Crowns alike felt instant hatred towards this newcomer. Sentinel had been a powerful Forebear ally, but now it was independent. As Lhotun slowly gained forces and followers, he fended off weak attacks from the two other factions. Lhotun was confident for now, but if the Crowns and Forebears sent their entire armies to Sentinel, he wasn't sure he would prevail.

Lhoutun is now 40 years old. Despite his age, he still looks young, and he doesn't let his enemies (or allies, for that matter) use it as a disavantage. Although lhotun is still without a queen, he has been desperatley seaching for one. His lifetime lonliness has always been an issue, but since he inherited Sentinel, it has been almost debilitating. He has few freinds, and so feels alone. But with the return of his childhood friend to Sentinel to join the Lhotunics, will he finally find a worthy Queen?

I sit now in the Palace of Sentinel after having interviewed a truly wonderful man. His morals and goals are valiant and outstanding, and I wish him all the best. Perhaps with the Biograhy of King Lhotun word will spread of this King, and followers will flock to the Golden City of Sentinel to pledge their lives to Lhotun and usher in a new age to Hammerfell that will truly make everyone happy. Although this brings up another interesting question. Will everyone ever, truly, be happy?

I had a look at your text, and gave it a bit of a proofread. I can't confirm whether your history is all accurate, but it should have a lot less spelling mistakes now :D Attached below.

Alright, I'm gonna start working on a new exterior now. I was gonna create a somewhat small city, with a small wilderness around it. Since there isn't very much open space in cyrodiil, I was thinking about creating it in a new worldspace so that I don't have to worry about running into something while working. Is this alright?

Greyhounds, you're on page five of your showcase. This means that you certainly have the dedication to our project that we're looking for. So often, we'll have a really talented member come in and submit a showcase, fix it once, and get promoted. These types of highly-skilled members often prove useful to the project until they get bored in a few months, after which they leave and never look back.

We're trying to find members who have skills with the game and its tools that also plan on staying around for a while. You've got the latter part down. As soon as you get a recommendation from any other CS-involved department, I'll give you membership in the writing group. We can work on your skills there.

Like Nanu said, dedication = big plus. Cant wait to see this town your making for us, the seperate worldspace thing should be fine, just make sure that you provide a "cow" co-oridinate for the reviewer to 'jump' to (assuming that, like me, they test in-game as well as in the CS).

Coolio JD. Quick question: When i make a new worldspace, is it possible for the worlspace to be a certain size? I want it to only be 5x5 so that I have a small enough workspace without unlimited space, so that I can be more accurate, if you know what I mean. I don't like feeling overwhelmed with all that unlimited water. Oh and JD? Feel up to taking a look at that census and excise office? :) Happy B-Day, by the way! :banana:

I'm not sure on the worldspace thing, I've yet to create one myself. But yeah, a small one would be good for the reasons you mentioned, i know it is posible to set size, i just dont know how. I did have a look at your last .esp, but as mentioned in a previous post, i was unable to even open it properly due to loading errors. Basicaly, if i cant even load the .esp without a bunch of 'warning' boxes coming up, I'm not going to bother looking at the mod itself.

Sorry to sound impatient, but I can't find it on the wiki and nobody has helped on beth's forums.
The cs only saves as much landmass as you edit. Once you save and load all of the land you left flat will be gone.

Also if you want to be able to work in the cells without accidentally going off track you can go to file>preferences>renderwindow and uncheck "allow render window cell loads"

Could somebody give a quick look to this? I've been working on this, and I want to make sure it's alright. The premise is pretty odd and unique, and I want to make sure that it's plausible before I work too much on it and find out that it's too unique for promotion. Danke. :) The worldspace is TRNewCity.

While I'm at it, I figured I'd upload my border forts interior test. I believe I finally got those weird greetings sorted out. (Oh, just as note, the fire thing in the kitchen is a makeshift oven, I know it's not very good, but I couldn't find anything else like an oven. :P)

Quick and simple two-shot for you here:

"New City"
> The texture you used for the cliff faces is not right, there is a specific cliff texture (i dont know its exact name) available, that will do everything you want.
> You seem to have used large rocks from several different areas to put 'into' your cliffs, pick one (that goes with the cliff texture you choose) only.
> You have mixed Leyawiin and Bravil archetecture, and they just do not go well together... I'd go with the Leyawiin style (though i must admit, i dont really like either).

There were some interesting bits though. The Outdoor chapel, with the dragon statue was a nice touch, as was the Bravil style houses built into the cliff face at the waterfront area.
Overall, i fear you have gone a more than a little overboard with how high the main town is. There is no need for it to tower above the water level THAT MUCH. Realisticaly, it would only need to be a little higher than the roofs of those Bravil style 'cliff houses' (the waterfront areas do loke good in Bravil style I'll admit, but you should still stick to one architectureal style for the whole town al the same). The Castle section can be higher thean the main town, but only by a little.

"Border-fort Int"
I feel a little silly, ut i couldn't find the areas/interiors you worked on. The only exterior cell i could find that was marked as modified was 34,-28. If thats not part of your .esp, then it means your file is dirty.
Of course, the fact that i got this far is an improvement, not a single error on loading this time. I'm not going to count this as a 'fix' for this file as i dint actually DO anything. Just give me some co-ords or re-name the cells to start with the number 0 (forcing them to the top of the list of cells) and then i can actually look at what you've done.

Eh, sorry JD for not telling you the cell name for the border forts. :P The ints are BlackMarshBorderFortCensusAndExcise, and that same thing for the rest, but added at the end are Fighter'sGuildOffice, Mage'sGuildOffice, Bedroom, and Basement.

As for the city, I'm working. It's a beeotch to fix the heightmap and all the stuff that was on it before. Lowering those cliffs are gonna take a while. :) I decided to go with the Bravil architecture all around because, even though it looks bad, it makes sense at the waterfront, and was actually my inspiration for this city anyway. :P. I'll post the fixes later.

P.S. Thanksgiving is only an American holiday, but I'm in the holiday spirit, so Happy Thanksgiving anyway JD. I'm thankful for you putting up with my noobish CS skills and sticking with the reviews, no matter how long it takes for a promotion. And felix, too. He had to put up with my ints for a while too. :P

Okay JD, here you go. The castle is still a bit high. I think when I was first making the city, I didn't realize the scale, so I just made it really high. I did lower the town significantly, with the Chapel higher than the rest on the top of a hill. Just a quick note: if some of the stuff in the town seems sloppy or crude, it's probably intentional, since this is a relatively poor town. happy reviewing. :)

I took a look at your new city even though it doesn't really matter.

There were just a few small things like the Bravil Cardinal House outside the main city too far forward, or the Bravil Fighters Guild missing a door.

I'm not an exterior modder so I wouldn't know which texture to use on those cliffs. It looks fine.

The chapel and dragon statue were cool and I thought how you joined the houses with bridges on the cliff face was awesome.

It sucks how TR have stopped making Oblivion stuff but you could mod some interiors to this and release your own mod. (Just a suggestion) ;)
