Mantriel's Questions
Hi!
I have only one question at the moment, but I'm sure many will follow. 4 scimitars that TR adds to the game have an unusually high enchantment point "capacity". My question is: is this a bug, or a feature?
a.) TR_w_adamant_scimtar has 750 enchantment points, almost as much as an ebony staff (800). All other adamantium items (in the original, and in TR) have around 100. Except the one-handed longsword (150) and the staff (500)... I assume the correct value would be 150?
b.) TR_w_daedra_scimitar_01 has 250 enchantment points while the TR_w_daedra_scimitar_02 has only 200 enchantment points so I assume TR_w_daedra_scimitar_01 should have 200 too. (The original daedric dai-katana/claymore/staff have only 210.)
c.) The TR_w_steel_scimitar has 420 enchantment points, while a common steel staff has only 70, I deduce that the steel scimitar should have 60 (like the steel longsword) or 65.
d.) And the same for the the TR_w_iron_scimitar which has 400 e.p.

Um...maybe the scimitars are just meant to be very enchantable? I really need to get the newer mod; I only got Telvannis, and I think at least one has come out since then.
Did you happen to be looking at the enchantment values in the Construction Set? I know that the value changes a lot from CS to game (I don't know the formula or anything, though.)

Well are they? This was my question. IMHO they are out of place, there are no other scimitars/weapon type with such high values and AFAIK there is no lore to explain this.Anonymous wrote:Um...maybe the scimitars are just meant to be very enchantable?
Yes I did, but that doesn't change anything. I was compairing the enchantment values against each other in the CS. Not in game vs. CS. (BTW the in game enchantment value is a tenth of the number in the CS. So e.g., a Daedric longsword which has 150 points in CS, has 15 in game.)Anonymous wrote:Did you happen to be looking at the enchantment values in the Construction Set? I've been working since weeks on a house mod, and I'm finally at the part where I would like to add some weapon racks/weapons for a quest, I was browsing through the files and found this inconsistency. I will create some spreadsheets during the week with the other values (weight, dmg/sec etc.) and look for anything that is out of place.

For some reason the original game's ebony scimitar has a wtfhuge number of enchant points. I think the odd enchantment values of scimitars come from this fact.

This is a good point, and one worth checking out, even though Bethesda's scimitars had high enchantment point allotments. To be fair, the scimitars that Tribunal added were kind of uber (Hopesfire, Trueflame, and Her-Hand-gone-bad's personally enchanted scimitar.). Our scimitars' enchantment point amounts could probably stand to be lowered a bit. (I don't think Bloodmoon added any scimitars)

I assume the TR_weapons are in levelled loot lists, or they can be bought, or they drop off bandits.
The weapon TR_w_glass_ssword_uni is an unique weapon, and the only glass shortsword currently in the game.
The weapon mesh is quite good looking, it would be a waste if the player wouldn't be able to obtain it somehow.
My question is, does the NPC (Mistress Faruna) give it to the Player at a certain point, or do you have to kill her to put your hand on one of these shortswords?

I'm done with the spreadsheet.
Here is a list of recommendations that I think should be changed. This list is absolutely subjective, every weapon was compared to either to his fellow weapons in his type (Scimitar, Saber, Staff, Mace...) or to a weapon in his material class (chitin, steel...).
I can give a detailed explanation for all changes I propose, if needed.
TR_w_adamant_halberd -> Reach (from 1 to 1.8 )
TR_w_orcish_spear_01 -> Health (from 2000 to 1100)

That's already been said. Please read the entire thread before posting.
