quick question

Post by Night0205 »

I still come and see what you guys are doing every once in a while, because, while I'm sure not many people do, I still play Morrowind. I had a quick question for you guys, seeing as you guys cut out Oblivion, which is fine with me, because Morrowind is better. However, the reason, which I'm not exactly sure about, has to do with Morrowind being easier to mod? If this is the case, then it seems very unlikely that Elder Scrolls 5 will be any easier to mod, so you wouldn't be doing that either. And if you aren't doing any modding except for Morrowind, and for the fact that you can't build all of Tamriel with the Morrowind engine, and probably won't build anything other then Mainland Morrowind with the Morrowind engine, my question is are you going to re-name the site?

No, I'm pretty sure we won't be changing our name; for several reasons including the following:

1. Tamriel Rebuilt is already a recognized name in the community
2. It’s a cool name
3. We're still rebuilding a part of Tamriel
4. We can't know for certain what the future holds. Since we were able to release a small mod for Oblivion (Stirk) We might be able to do another small one for TES5 even if a big project proves unfeasible
5. A lot of people are probably attached to it
5. We'd gain nothing from changing it
6. It would be unnecessary work changing it

Hope that answers your question sufficiently :D

oblivion is easier in some respects and harder in others. difficulty wasn't really the reason TR had to leave the project, lack of modders (specifically modelers) was. morrowind's community is mature and we are a recognized force, hence, modders come to us. oblivion's community is still fresh and there are still many other projects in development. people have more choice in what to join, and often end up starting their own project. there is less will to cooperate since there is more choice in what to do.
