Let's Play Morrowind

Post by Haplo »

Remember what it was like, playing Morrowind for the first time? Remember that overwhelming sense of freedom, or the beautiful world sucking you in as you get lost looking for a quest mushroom or a powerful staff? Well here is a very long--yet quite fulfilling--Let's Play series of videos on Morrowind.

I strongly recommend everyone watch this; it's like falling in love with Morrowind all over again. To top it off, the video series is recorded in 720p, so you can actually see what's going on in the game as the guy plays along. Just mouse over the bit that says "360p" and select 720p instead. For the first several videos you can choose 480p if you want an HD experience but have a slow connection.

Try not to yell at your monitor too much when he does the wrong thing; you'll lose your voice pretty quickly ;-)

Enjoy!

haha, nice one  although I haven't played morrowind without any mods or tools improving the graphics and bugs for a long time... some passages are very amusing, e.g. when he's trying to pronounce the names of towns in the right way

lol i already like that guy. His scenario is very similar to mine. Played morrowind - didnt like it. Played oblivion - loved it. Went back to morrowind.

Now i love morrowind.

And I love his pronunciation of the word "Oblivion"
it makes me want to say "Oblivi-off" after every time he says it.

I watched some of these videos a while back. I'd probably watch the rest, if I had more time to watch hundreds of 10-minute videos :P .

I shake my head in despair at the wanton killing of egg miners in vid 20. But yes, it does bring back that original feeling. Thanks for the link, Hap.

spoiler alert! (lol)

I couldn't bear to continue watching when he mistook a Hypha Facia for Bungler's Bane and started heading back to Balmora with just three of the four mushrooms for Ajira's first quest. The pity!

The worst part is, he's playing a mage, so his speed and athletics are incredibly low... so it takes him forever to get anywhere!

I just finished watching these, and while it can be slow at times (and it definitely takes a while), I recommend a full showing for everyone! He's not even close to being finished yet, and it really makes one fall back into love with all the things about Morrowind that we loved in the first place.

I guess I'm the oddball again. :) I found watching them about as interesting as watching paint dry. I do have to admit it was fun seeing a "new" player fumble through some of the same stuff I fumbled through when I first played though. Maybe I'll skip ahead a few videos to see how he makes out. :)

I like em though. Reminds me of me. I did scream when he didnt pick up the right mushroom though.

even disregarding this fact, that guy is not sload. Sload would never do something like this.

Just an update... Gix is now at about 152 videos. Roughly 24 hours of game play, and he is just now being sent to the Urshilaku tribe.

Somehow his videos are really entertaining to watch. I'm at 103 atm, he's slowly crawling ahead of me.

I cheered for him out loud when he finally found Mentor's Ring quite some episodes back.

I remember when I first came across his videos... I was hooked. He reminds me of myself when first playing, as I am sure he reminds everyone of themselves! I love how he does let's plays in general, and wish he would have kept up on his Daggerfall Let's plays as well. Awesome to see a forum supporting him. I embeded some of his videos on my board as well, but it is not an Elder Scrolls board... so not as relevant. Anyway, can't wait until he finishes the main quest!!!! It will certainly be funny to see his reaction to Dagoth Ur.... giant streaker in a golden mask, LOL!

For the first time I played morrowind I got strong feelings
from it. Still its fun to play morrowind because of the expansions and the TR mod project!

I have watched from youtube "lets play morrowind"
many of them.

+1 I started playing Morrowind again some days ago, I wanted to try that Overhaul thing, and to my surprise I enjoyed it! It is quite a change, recently I installed TR and started to explore the new places, it's great to be back at Morrowind, it's still a lot of fun!

It's been quite a while since I writed here, think I did a couple of interiors for TR 7 or 8 years ago lol, I'd like to visit them in game again, but I can't remember the places, I tried searching for them but I can't find anything, maybe someone here can track them down? That would be too much asking I think, lol.

p.s.: Sorry for my grammar, English it's not my natural language.

I searched through all your previous posts and I found a few things:
Tolkar wrote:I would like to claim this two interiors of map2:

Claim 2-6:(35, 3): Cave Entrance
Claim 2-6:(35, 5): Nord Rock House

For make it a smugglers cave and a house.
and
Tolkar wrote:I have finished my last claim the shack at group map 2:
2-1 (25, 6)
The interior name is "Tolkar, map2(25, 6)"

I would like to claim the 3 shacks in exterior of group map 1 for make it houses:
Claim 2 (15, 25)
I hope that helps you find them. There were also some Black Light interiors, but I imagine they are probably long gone.
