I recently got engrossed in a new game and one cool part of it gave me an idea for Morrowind.
In the game Mount&Blade there is a dynamic trading system of goods between towns and your character can make a profit by buying say pottery cheap in one town and selling it high in another.
This made me wonder if this could be scripted for Morrowind or specifically including TR; it would make a lot of sense to have this function especially with all the added towns and cities of TR where goods naturally would not hold the same value in every city, as is the case right now.
Unfortunately I know squat about scripting so I hope that someone who does could comment on the feasibility of this idea.
Any takers?

I believe there is already a mod that does this, althought I can't remember the name.
TR does not change the gameplay of the original game, we only add more of it. New features such as this are therefore out of scope of the project (although there is nothing to stop members creating a seperate mod to do something should they so wish).

Sure, it depends on your speechcraft and mercantile and their speechcraft and mercantile levels, and their current disposition toward you, and your fame.

trading goods
Thanks for the comments; so basically one would have to change the worth of goods manually by vendor? Ouch; though as Haplo is saying the default skills of your character still apply and would work with such changes. I may give this a try, but what more I envision in such a mod besides that is actual caravans trading between certain house centers if not every city.
This would go along with the trading competition between houses that is said to exist in the game. That however is where the scripting part would come in, and that is beyond me at this point.
Anyway if you can think of a mod that does something similar already I would love to know about it.
Thanks

I believe someone attempted something along those lines for OB. The way objects and references are handled in MW, you'd probably have to write specific scripts for each vendor for individual items, rather than have regional differences in the costs of items.
Still, even limited to a handful of specific items and a dozen vendors, it could be enough to "simulate" an economic war and local price variations, at least enough to give a distinct impression that it was "functional". Your character, with just "moderate" Mercantile skills, could even make a few spare Drakes along the way by "exploiting" the price differential.
