Jule's Showcase
I've been a fan of Morrowind and TR for years now but I never really had enough time to contribute to the project myself. I'd like to change that. I've put together a little interior (Jule's Mod, Showcase Interior), nothing extraordinary, just a drunkard's home. The house is in Balmora and there is no interior for the upper floor since I didn't have enough time to create one.
EDIT:
Just one question: do I even have to link my interior to an exterior?

This showcase is actually pretty good, you've accounted for the warped de_p surfaces admirably. I just need to point out a couple of things:
-the bed is missing a pillow. you say this is the home of a drunkard, so it doesn't necessarily need to be in the right place on the bed, but it would be nice if you added one somewhere nearby.
-the cell is slightly lacking in objects, we try to aim for 100 in a cell. Granted this is a small cell, but try to get as close to that number or above as you can (the broken urn and bottle pieces would be perfect for the theme of this cell.)
-interior modders don't add the exterior, they generally work to fit an existing one. Clean out your additions to Balmora, I've seen what exterior you're trying to fit (ex_hlaalu_b_25 for other reviewers)
Address these issues listed, and if at all possible create the upstairs house as well, and I'll recommend you.

Well, I can't say I haven't rushed this... After all, this is my first mod ever, I've never used the CS before, so I'm quite enthusiastic.
I've deleted the exterior, cleaned the file, and I'm now making a basement instead of a second floor. Should be finished by tomorrow.
And thanks for the advice
I also have one more question: how can I keep the altered radius of lights when cleaning my esp with TESAME?

In response to your question, why would you want to, when the game files provide 64, 128 and 256 versions of most lights?
If you need an item with a specific property (such as specific items in a container or a specific key) you create a new item with an ID denoting that you created it. There are conventions for naming your items in an actual TR claim, found here http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=3837 (hopefully members can see interiors: unclaimed, I can't remember), but creating new items should be avoided unless there is absolutely no substitute object already existing.
EDIT: Also, I forgot about this in the original review. Replace your com goblets with de ones, so as to better fit the de furniture. Ta!

I've added a basement and cluttered the whole place a bit. I guess it's done now.
I didn't know that there are variations of most lights, thanks for the tip. I also tried to remove any misc items which have de counterparts, so I guess style mixing should not be a problem anymore.
(BTW I hope you like the urn )

Right, last few errors before I recommend you for promotion:
-The iron warhammer downstairs is bleeding into the floor, and I'm not sure it would come to rest balancing like that anyway, especially if a drunk had been wielding it. Place it so the head is on its side.
-The pillow upstairs was sunk into the floor by like, a foot. Just place it normally on the bed or something.
-Oh, and just make sure a player can get past that table upstairs in both directions. If not, move it back a little bit.
That's it! Really pleased with how this showcase is going.

I've repositioned the warhammer. The pillow is on the bed now, slightly bleeding into it (just enough to make it look real). The table has been moved a bit away from the stairs.
Also, is it possible that objects get moved every time I open or save my esp in the CS? I don't remember placing the pillow that way, and the bottles near the rail in the basement turned out to bleed into each other as well, yet I remember placing them correctly in the earlier versions of my showcase.
Anyway, I'm glad you like the showcase. I'm quite fond of it, too: I thought I'd have tons of errors when I began to work on it. Thanks for reviewing!

Hey Jule, sorry I'm not Cathartis, but I'll look through your file nonetheless.
You had a couple of minor errors, but nothing at all that would prevent me from recommending you highly to the admins. I hope they'll take a look at this soon, but in the mean time-
-You need to rotate the inkwell on the desk below; you did great with rotating everything else, though.
-The knife sticking into the shelf should be sticking just a little more. This is really minor, but a knife most likely wouldn't stick if it was that far in in real life.
-Paper is annoying. While no one really notices this and IMO not many modders actually do this, its best to F it so that it's bleeding halfway, then raise it up manually in the properties window decimal by decimal until it's just not bleeding. 99% of the time, though, no one cares.
-You have one floating cloth on the bookcase.
-One cloth slightly bleeds; because it is cloth, this is fine, so if this was intentional, I have no worries.
-Lastly, the sack next to the bookcase should be lowered into the ground, as it's modeled so that it sits on a point.
Those were really just minor things that even promoted modders miss (sometimes). I hope an admin takes a look at this soon. Nice job, man.

On my last claim I tried placing 4 plates on top of eachother in a small stack, but whenever I saved the file half of them would disappear. I just ended up using 1 plate in each stack :/Jule wrote: Also, is it possible that objects get moved every time I open or save my esp in the CS? Thanks for the advice, shapeshiftr!
Yeah I remember having a dilema about the sack as it looked awkward sitting on one point, so I just rotated it a bit so it rests on one side. I didn't know it should be bleeding into the floor, this is a useful tip. I assume this applies to all bowls with a pointy base as well? Should they too be sunk into the surface they're standing on?
I think I just missed the inkwell, cause I really gave my best to rotate everything.
The bleeding cloth was supposed to bleed a bit.
The knife is one of those stupid things that keep moving when I'm opening or saving the file; it was stuck a bit deeper into the shelf. I'll look into that.
Anyway, thank you very much for your review and your support
EDIT: after a bit of rotating, sinking and patching up some bleeding old wounds, I've fixed anything I could think of.

bleeds sacks into other sacks
I would totally have put something under that overturned peach glass bowl.
Oh hey, you did hide something under a cup downstairs
couple of minute errors with the poor furniture, but nothing bad.

Well done on the promotion, that was pretty damned quick!

Thrig already did.
He doesn't miss much, if anything, when reviewing a mod. To be honest, that's the shortest error list I've seen him post for a showcase, which means you were nearly perfect.
