Construction Set error...

Post by PoisonUnagi »

Whenever I open the Construction Set, a window will come up similar to this:

And when I click on 'yes', then another one comes up. I hold down Enter and hundreds of them get 'yes'd.
If I'm using vanilla Morrowind, I don't get this problem. If I use it with the expansions, I have to go through about 20 seconds' worth of these. If I'm using Tamriel Rebuilt, I have to go through about a minute's worth. It seems minor, but it really bugs me.

Any ideas?

inherent and unavoidable dialogue conflicts. Add a line for yes to all in your .ini to skip them. I don't remember what to put, or where in the .ini to put it, but I know someone will come along shortly to give the answer.

you should write "AllowYesToAll=1" at the bottom of the Archives section, or somewhere near the top. This will give you an extra button to skip all messages.

Or if you use MGE there's a little checkbox in the 'Morrowind ini' section that makes this change for you.

By the way I like that cool orange/yellow bar. How did you get that?

It's one of the Classic skins for Windows XP. I got SP3, which for some reason doesn't seem to come with the XP theme, just Classic o.O

It's called Maple if you're wondering.

Access is denied

Post by broda812 »

I am trying to add the line, but whenever I try to save, it tells me that I cannot because access is denied. Is there a way to bypass this? I am using Windows 7.

I have the same problem! And when I tried adding "AllowYesToAll=1" onto a copied Morrowind INI file on the desktop, when I move it back nothing happens! The addition is just ignored!

one thing it could be is MGE overrides .ini settings

Sounds more like Windows 7 being a git again to me. You need to give Morrowind admin rights or something. I don't know. I have good old XP.

Win7 likes hiding the ini that is actually used in a hidden folder called "Virtual Store". If you edit the ini in the morrowind directory it still uses the hidden ini. The easiest way is to open MY Computer, navigate to the bethesda softworks folder, right click on the bethesda folder and then click the security tab. Choose your account and set all permissions to allowed. Then you should be able to edit the ini in your MW directory like normal. :) Also be sure to right click the Morrowind.exe file and set it to run as administrator. You should also do this for any utilities you use (MGE, Mlox, Mash).

Thank you!!!!!!! Win 7 seems to hate letting it's users have easy access to it's stuff! (It does the exact same thing with my saves and mods I create!) I'm not going to wreck my own game people! I know better then to type random stuff into an INI file and why oh why must you hide my saves!

I've never had any problems with Windows 7. You can avoid every single UAC and "game file path" issue with Windows 7 (and probably Vista too) by just using the original admin account.

Locate your Morrowind install and in the folder 'Morrowind' there should be a file called 'Morrowind.ini'. Open it in Notepad and add the line 'AllowYesToAll=1' after the line 'Werewolf FOV=100'. If there is already a line that reads 'AllowYesToAll=0' change the zero to a one.
