I'd like to try this claim but I have a problem with it:
When I opened map 4 in my editor I saw that the claims surrounding 4-11 are pretty inconsistent. There is a Hlaalu village of Indal-ruhn in the claim 4-26 and it has a road which leads to 4-11 but even if I would continue it in the claim 4-11 it could not lead to anywhere because the other surrounding claims don't have a road. It just doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I would make it just a nice landscape and something beautiful to look at. Maybe an abandoned shack/house/cave/eggmine or something of interest. I have a bit of Grazeland textured mountains and a bit of West Gash mountains but the lower lands will be Ascadian Isles.

ok, granted

make sure to align your land with surrounding claims [terrain and textures].
here is the texture map: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/?image=g/maps/map_mw_sw_textures.jpg&p=modding_data/maps

the road: please, make the road going west, i'll add the rest into existing map4 [make it so that it leaves your claim heading to 4-9 [riverbridge].

according to our drawn map, it's supposed to be mountains, so do make it mountaneous - along 4-11/4-24 border, you are free to make the land higher, 4-24 will be changed a bit, so i'll match your terrain.

ahh, READ THIS: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=13222

interiors: 1-3 ints are fine [mine, shack, tomb, etc]

post progress once a week

get latest OoT and use anything you like [but is not ot of place] - we need OoT stuff spread in morrowind

have fun and happy modding :D
Recommeded OoT packages:

Well, now I got started and I'm doing the landscape but if I direct the road towards Riverbridge then it wouldn't make sense. If you look at the screen you will understand.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/Animunculi/4-11.jpg

For interiors maybe a Hlaalu style one family (guar?)farm and a shack for one servant.

road: i didn't mean to direct it towards the city itself, rather to the whole claim -there is a road going south-north there to which i'll connect it. but there's more room for it in 4-9 then in 4-24. so, make it leave your claim in top-left cell, heading west.

the screenshot: i know it's just raised land, but please make it mountaneous. and on top of that, you don't have to follow your northern border that much - we need mountains to look like mountains, not lowlands...

interiors: well, imo mts are not the best place for a farm, but if you can make it look good [in mts area], then do it, your call.

Is this more what you meant? Now I realize that a farm doesn't suit the mountains very well, though it would be nice in the bottom right cell which is much lower than other cells. If not farm then maybe a Hlaalu style small inn?

Progress report: done ~5%. Completed upper 4 cells landscaping and texturing.

I'd still like to know if an inn and a farm in this claim is ok.
Sorry for the double post.

good. ok, make an inn [1 hlaalu building] if you want to.

see the screen: you should make the blue area lot higher - so that it's impassable, thus making the road go south and then turn north again. you know, this way it makes no sence; why was the road build to go around just a small hill?!

My claim is about 65% done now, but I am leaving for one and a half weeks now. Please don't revoke this claim. I'm now detailing and adding a lot of statics and plants. I started vertex shading already so my claim looks much better now. Here are some pictures:
1)All cells
2)Mountain path
I thought I needed to do something with the mountains so I created this path.
3)A spring
A spring next to the mountain path. The hermit and the innkeeper use it for fresh water.
4)A passage to the spring
This nice place near a clear spring is often used by travelers and the innkeeper as a place to rest and a source of fresh water.

So what does everyone think? I have no access to internet and the CS during the time I'm away, so don't excpect an update for ~10 days

I have returned now, but I have found out that one of my brothers has deleted Morrowind(and TESCS) from my computer. I have reinstalled it, but I had all my claim backup copies in my main Morrowind folder and they were lost. Right now I am redownloading OoT and forcing myself to start from scratch.

i'm sorry to hear it. next time you are free to use the upload function on top of this page as a back-up - that's what it is for...

and look at it from the bright side: you may redo areas you possibly didn't like, yet did't changed. and don't take it as redoing, rather as making new claim with somewhat similar settings; helps me... :]

Work with my new claim has progressed nicely. I'm too busy working on it to post screenshots. Now I save often and backup the file in my documents. :]

Edit: Does OoT have leafless bushes? If not could anyone make them?

Progress report:
45% done. (3 cells detailed but not vertex shaded. 3 cells not detailed and not vertex shaded)
I like the new version much more than the old version. I am still too busy (working on my claim) to post screens but expect them in a day.

review:

1. good job, you do know how to make a nice exterior...

2. not a single floater! -that's great [though i may have overlooked one or two]

3. a few spots where vertex shade is missing, but no big deal.
[i'd suggest using a bit darker shades, but it's up to you]

4. the only problem and a reason why i'm sending this back to you to finish: add more stuff along the road [in marked areas on attached screen], like container flora, a tree or two, those de_railing things, etc... no need to add tons of it, just a few touches here and there...

overal: i'm very pleased by your work, just finish the above mentioned area. i'll be happy to grant another claim to you...

Original file has outdated .esm dependencies.
TR_EoT.esm
TR_OOT.esm

Use this instead.
Also, check out this screenshot for guidance. This claim is only 6 cells squeezed in between several finished claims.

Two questions about his claim.

1. There is no road in 4-9; I believe it would be rather weird to have this road start in 4-11 and have a dead end. If I remove the road, Haplo will have to remove it from 4-26 too.

2. I know there is Ashlands on the western side and TRV on the eastern one and that I should keep two WG cells. However if you say "keep certain cells" then what kind of region should the central part of the claim be? Or should I leave the mix between WG and GL?

Double post.

Now listen, I will keep most of this claim, remove stuff looking weird and make the transition to Thirr.
(if need be even without a 4-26 WIP)
I was thinking about adding a tower where the road ends and then make a proper transition to the ashlands.
Also, should I keep the inn and shack being in the claim right now or should I kill them with fire?

EDIT: Crap on a stick, I will replace GL stuff with WG one and use AI trees along the end of the road.

You could consolidate the inn and a guard tower into a sort of border station with some walls and stuff? There's one like that on the southern edge of the ashlands, too.

Though if the road goes nowhere I don't see the point in a 'border' station? There are no travellers who'll be coming here either to sleep at an inn or to need guarding.

Might it be better to merge into this claim some of the neighbouring cells from the Ashlands in 4-9 and 4-24 so that a less artificially disjointed and much smoother border can be created?

This whole little thing of WG mountains is a bit of an anomaly right now (particularly noticable north of here in the 4-9 4-13 border). Maybe worth giving the whole border region a bit of a tidy-up and reconsideration of what we actually want it to be once we've got a merged Map 4 file in place.

My reasoning was it was a natural pass between a badlands full of dangerous and hostile bandits and raiders, and the most economically productive region in mainland morrowind, there would need to be some kind of guard post to prevent attacks and stolen produce.

I agree that this long spit of WG makes very little sense, though.

Personally I'd just axe the road, which is a remnant from before the wider road plan for Map 4 was put in place and its continuation in 4-9 was cut; so just remove the natural pass, and continue the mountain range which encircles the entire rest of the ashlands.

If we do want to keep the road from 4-26 and give it a purpose, maybe just create a small village/outpost on the Thirr side of the mountains.
