Mizodas Showcase
Ok, here it is. My first draft of my first showcase. First off, let me say some things.
1: Im a novice with the cs, so any advice is appreciated.
2: Im making another showcase for a dungeon, BUT I am having some trouble getting the pieces to meet flush. Instead they overlap or leave giant gaps! (both with and without clip to angle/grid)
3: It took me all of 3 hours to make this showcase (spread out through a school day) so that could explain any obvious mistakes.
Thanks for your critique-dom and I hope I meet the standards!

Hi Mizoda,
Your .esp should be dependent on Tribunal and Bloodmoon as well, as they add certain fixes.
Did you clean your file? I saw that for example Balyn Omavel's manor in Balmora was edited/touched in some way. These kinds of unintentional changes should be cleaned with tesame or a similar program.
What is the name of your cave? I haven't found it yet in the CS.

easy way to find out the name of someone's cell is to open the file in TESAME or look at the references.

The dungeon that I am working on is in another plug in, but it is going to be called the Tower of Mizoda. Im having the most problem with the outside of the tower "clicking" together because it is mainly comprised of resized pieces of dwarven strongholds (specificaly Marandus )
On another note, I do not have the expansions for Morrowind yet, but I plan on getting them soon. Ill get right on cleaning the file!

If you don't have the expansions yet, I fear you won't be able to actively participate in TR - you won't be able to open any of our files. Good to hear you're planning on getting them however.
If you're having trouble making stuff "click" together, try altering your gridsnap settings (File->Preferences) or turning gridsnap off completely so that you have more freedom fitting things together.

I read some other showcase reviews and I've gathered some info that should make my house a bit...fancier? Anyways, I cant upload it at the moment because A:Im on my cell posting this comment, and B: I do not have an internet connection atm. Thanks for the patience and ill try and upload it tomorrow, or monday at the latest

Indeed. We generally have a "minimum" reference count of 100, although ref counts of a few hundred to several hundred are much more common. We do this so that the detail in each interior seems realistic. There aren't really any cultures on display in Morrowind that could be described as 'spartan', and our interiors try to reflect how the inhabitants would live in them, decorations, furnishings, and all. As one of the old interior moderators urged, try to imagine the life of the NPC who lives in the house/cave/building you're working on. Think about the kinds of things they'd be interested in, and the kind of lifestyle they would lead, and try to populate your interior as the NPC would, if it were him doing the interior decorating.
So in summation, not necessarily "fancier", but some more detail is in order. And don't worry if it takes longer than a day or two; modding is a hobby

As of now (23:24) I have 104 refs, and a couple of them are Unique to give my character some character (haha, bad pun!) I've made the room slightly smaller, arranged things in a different manner, and fixed some issues with my door and ownership.
Some background for the owner of the house. He is a drunk who drinks a form of alchohol similar to vodka made of saltrice. Since he is a drunk, he is not very smart and cannot read nor write very well. If he isn't stashing it away, he spend his money (guld) on booze, or saltrice to make booze. He also eats very poorly as a result of his addiction, mainly mush and bread.

Alright! I'm uploading the Mizoda Showcase MKII! I made the room smaller, yet added some more objects, actually made a few unique objects (if there is a problem with this let me know, ok?) and as posted above added a bit of background to the owner. It's still a work in progress, unless you say it's good and want to promote me. I'm also tempted to try my hand at exterior design, but I may completely fail at that. Won't hurt to try, right?
EDIT: I'm almost finished with another version of my showcase with some dialogue and his items being owned by Mizoda. Is their any faster way to assign ownership to an item than the normal way??

Tada, Mark III
New NPC, Dialogue, all items in his house are owned, by him of course.
I hope I get promoted soon
EDIT: Just got game of the year edition from steam, so I can now download and upload tribunal/bloodmoon dependent files.
EDIT 2: For some reason whenever I load the bloodmoon and tribunal master files in the construction set, it gives me a lot of error boxes either saying the chunk size is too big and it is resizing it, or that it could not load certain files. I've scoured the web and can't find any help. Any solutions?

I cant update my showcase if you don't look at them
I know you all have probably been busy, but it just seemed so abrupt. I'll be looking forward to whatever you have to say about my showcase!
P.S. I can't make my showcase tribunal/bloodmoon dependent because of the errors I made note of in a previous post aswell as in another part of the forums. I'll do my best with what I have now, and I'll fix anything when I get it working. Thank you for your patience :3

Hello. Firstly you don't have to put dialogue in an interior showcase since it will be ignored (the only place to add a new npc and dialogue is in a quest showcase).
Secondly using de_p furniture in a com_interior is a huge style mix and that's quite bad. So you should build a house in a non-imperial style (velohi, redoran, hlaalu, telvanni) using de_p furniture for the showcase to be accepted. As a ground rule don't mix com objects with de ones (except in the case of some containers and a few mix objects) but neve furniture and interior pieces. Use ceramic and pottery (from MW) and stonewere (from TR) in de_ints with wooden cutlery while metal and silver go in imperial interiors.

how has no one posted yet that the dialog errors when loading the expansions are inherent conflicts between bloodmoon and tribunal and can safely be ignored?

Oh, is that what he is referencing? I haven't seen anyone speak of it in such a manner. You can edit your .ini file with an AllowYesToAll=1 line (put anywhere I believe...mine is near the top) and then press the cancel button when the errors start to appear and they will go away with one click
And that's how you get to Llama School.

That is not the error I am referring to. The error I get says it cannot open/locate certain files within the the expansions. Before those appear though, it says that the "chunk size" is too large and it will truncate it to "[]",
then it goes on to say that certain weather and meshes cannot be found in EVERY SINGLE CELL in tribunal and bloodmoon. When I "Allow yes", it doesn't load any references in trib and bm areas, and shows yellow "!" triangles.
This is my problem, I'm sorry for any misunderstanding and ope that with this information the problem can be resolved.

Did you install Tribunal before Bloodmoon? If not it does all kinds of crazy stuff, perhaps that is your issue, aside from that I can't help, but there are many more knowledgeable about these types of issues than me around here
And that's how you get to Llama School.

If you're getting errors related to chunk size, you might want to check that the directory of your CS is the same of the folder that Steam put your MW data in. It is possible that your CS could be trying to load either a cached version of your *.esms or, more likely, isn't able to find the correct version.
Then again, I have no idea how Steam handles BethSoft's proprietary files.
