Why Telvanni? - SOLVED

Post by Pokegami »

Is the head of TR a mushroom-waver (i.e. Telvanni member)? Just because it seems unfair to have Telvanni's capital in map 1 and Hlaalu's in.... MAP 7 Very unfair on Hlaalu. Just because Telvanni has thr weird architecture doesn't mean it should come before other Houses!

You are obviously correct. We should let the other houses have capitals in map 1 as well.

He just means the map release order, Nemon.

The project got the Telvannis region out first because it's a quite isolated spike of land and so reduces the amount of unsightly land cutoffs at the map borders, not due to any particular preference for Telvanni. The western, Redoran coast would be a similarly good choice except that was the one Silgrad Tower started with. No point two mods competing in the same location if they don't have to yet.

At least doing things the way we have, the lands of Great House Indoril are the second great house faction to be released, which are a major faction not seen in the original game.

Also, TR has no singular leader, more like 8.

Yeah, it's totally unfair! I think we should axe the Telvannis region and start with Hlaalu instead!

Telvannis is Telvanni territory, hence the name. Hlaalu's territory is elsewhere. If you find this strange, think about how Russia doesn't have a capital city in Australia, and hopefully it will make more sense. Outsiders should not concern themselves with internal-use-only map numbers, which are largely outdated anyway (as you seem to know from your mention of "map 7", which has never even existed for Morrowind).

No one knows why we labeled Telvannis as the first region to begin work on, as those people have long since gone. And since you asked, neither Thrignar Fraxix nor I have any sort of special preference for the Telvanni. I believe TF prefers the Dres, and I have no specific preference.

Hlaalu are probably my favourite house, with Dres being a close second :3

Cath's first post is the best explanation.

BTW: I can tell you that Narsis is better the Port Telvanis and (some) interiors at Narsis are much better. The project's quality has only improved.

House Redoran is best just because it's mostly on map5. That will kick ass, you'll see.

Life is unfair!

But TR had to start from somewhere and the Telvannis region seemed the best place to do start. The mushroom-waver bit was funny though.

Well, a Telvanni is either a mushroom-waver or a tower-fiend. A Redoran is an insect-dweller or a sword-worshipper.

So anyway. Just do Hlaalu first. Make map seven Map 3, or Map 4! I know....

Make the Sacred East Map 4 (Indoril are just mad about their gods, and Dres are evil slavers), and make the Narsis one map 3. Then make the Redoran "finger" map 5, the mixed-up one Map 6, Dres domain map 7.... and we don't need a map 8!

And judging by the speed of this project, Map 7 will be released around the same time as, well, ELDER SCROLLS 142857, in about...... 2020!

And, well, should I just get some kind of vote from the "TR council"? I mean, one has already said Hlaalu first. TR hortator type thing, if you know what I mean.

Please don't double post. -Nemon

We release our land as a contiguous piece, releases containing separate, unconnected chunks of land strewn about the place would be weird and undesirable. Seeing as Telvannis and Antediluvian Secrets are already out, you'll have to wait until Heartlands to play with them (which is primarily a Hlaalu-owned section of the province, with only a small amount of Indoril and Redoran at the fringes).

Contrary to what you seem to believe, the world and by extension this project doesn't revolve around your whims.

I'm also moving this to public discussion, it has no place in help and spoilers.

It really doesn't seem as if Pokegami is adding anything to any kind of discussion or interesting debate, more expecting the TR team to do whatever the hell he wants.

I suggest this thread is locked, because to be honest, it's getting hard to not spew flames at him.

Sensible idea, tbh. The thread was going nowhere productive, anyway.
