Making a Dependent Mod - SOLVED

Post by Howling_Snail »

OK, so I've decided to make my first Morrowind mod, and I wanted it to be on the mainland, so I opened the ESM file for map 1 in the CS, but it came if with this message:

I click yes and it comes up with another, similar message. I repeat this over and over with a seemingly endless barrage of messages. In the Oblivion CS, this could be remedied by the "Yes to All" option, but my question is, is there a way to get past/rid of these messages, without pressing yes to every message that comes up?

Open your morrowind.ini (Notebook) file in your morrowind folder and add AllowYesToAll=1 to the [General] section.

I'm trying to do that, but as I try to save it, it says that it can't create the file and to check that the file path is correct. Well it's saying C:/ProgramFiles/BethesdaSoftworks/Morrowind/Morrowind.ini

That's definitely where it is, so what am I getting wrong?

Do you have WinVista/Win7 or some earlier Windows?
In the former case, is UAC activated?
If yes: install Morroiwnd to a non-UAC-protected folder. (UAC protects C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86), among others.)

Oh, and you could also try opening the file in Notepad with admin priveleges, but sooner or later you will get in troubles with Morrowind and UAC anyway.

By running as an admin, I've successfully added the AllowYesToAll=1 to [General], but It's still not stopped it. I'm running Windows Vista with Admin privilliges, so I wouldn't imagine UAC would be a problem.

You should see a 'cancel' button. Press that button and every error will be skipped.

No cancel button, and the X in the corner does nothing.

Get out of Microsoft programs :). I really don't know what your problem is there. I never had any problem with enable yestoall. Can you enable screenshots or is that also not possible?

As the thread 4 places below this one suggests, you can also download and install MGE, which has a handy little box you can check that places the allowyestoall line automatically.
