Ashlands in TR?

Post by AngryNord »

I know this topic has probably been discussed before, but when I heard of the Armun Ashlands in map 3 I was a bit puzzled as to why they were on the mainland, I thought Red Mountain's lava and ash storms were restricted to Vvardenfell, can anyone explain?

Vvardenfell used to be part of the Mainland, before Vivec flooded it to create the Inner Sea, so any partial eruptions from Red Mountain or especially other, now dormant or extinct volcanoes would produce ash and lava. It's mostly the Heartland area that will be Ashlands though, Sacred East only has a little bit.

Thanks Haplo, very discriptive. I knew that Vivec flooded the place but I didn't know that it created the Inner sea, I thought that was because of tectonics. My thirst for knowledge has been quenched.

I know this is an old post, but according to this:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Inner_Sea
Vivec didn't flood it, it was caused by red mountain

Yes it is an old post. Don't revive them. Also, Vivec caused Red Mountain to do it.

*cough*

My apologies for yet again reviving it, but...

Apparently, after the events of Morrowind, the 'Ministry of Truth' crashed into Vivec, destroying the city and causing Red Mountain to erupt.

That kind of answers my question of if Vivec lost his powers what would happen to the Ministry of Truth LOL.
