Hayabusa153's Interior Showcase

Post by Hayabusa153 »

Okay, here is my interior showcase. It features a 3x2 Hlaalu interior of a poor residence. You can get to the cell by traveling to Balmora and going to the north wall where there should be a new building on the west side of the river. Alternatively, you can use coc "Balmora, TR Interior Showcase" to get to the cell. Well, here you go:

Clean. No error messages ;) Objects look randomly tilted but if you look closely the shelves are uneven in places. I went for realism.

Hi, actually it's recommended to use de_p furnitures in showcases just because they are uneven, so you would have to rotate items when you place them. So it's good that your items look randomly tilted. Now about the interior, I looked at it and it's mostly fine. It wasn't necessary to connect the interior to exterior however, but it doesn't really matter.

Clean: yes (it's clean except for textures, but since you edited exterior, I don't know if they should be removed)
Northmarker: yes
Lightning values: yes
Style mixing: partly (see comments)

chest_small_02_gold_05 bleeds
Light_De_Lantern_01_77 bleeds
light_com_candle_05_64 bleeds
furn_c_t_ritual_01 bleeds through lower part of beam
misc_com_bottle_01 bleeds
light_de_candle_01_64 bleeds
misc_com_wood_knife bleeds
misc_com_wood_fork bleeds
misc_com_metal_plate_07 bleeds
misc_com_wood_cup_01
ingred_hound_meat_01 bleeds

Comments: first about style mixing. You shouldn't use furn_c_t_ritual_01 because in Morrowind it's used mainly in Mage Guilds. You also uses wooden cups and metal plates, those could be replaced with suitable redware counterparts (fork and knife are fine, because they don't have any alternatives). And then there is Com_Chest_11_clothing, which should be replaced with de_p chest. Next is the items I listed as bleeding, they mostly bleed not because of lack of rotation, but they are simply placed to deep. And finally is the kwama eggs, you could scale some of them for greater variety, and maybe add some small eggs.

Okay, thanks for checking it out. I have fixed everything listed thus far. Hopefully there aren't many other errors though. I didn't find any mishaps after the fix. (Doesn't mean a Reviewer won't find any though) Fixed version below:

misc_com_bottle_01 (the blue bottle on the table is still bleeding a bit)
common_pants_01 (from front it's fine, but from back one corner is bleeding slightly and other is floating)
misc_com_redware_plate (is bleeding slightly, also could be rotated a bit more on x-axis)
ingred_scrib_jerky_01 stack (the middle one bleeds and the top one half floats)

It is clean except for textures and now also landscape. I don't know if they should be cleaned, but since this is interior showcase it can't hurt. The other issues listed are minor things.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I will fix the issues and clean the landscape out. (if it doesn't screw it up, the textures too)

well, if it is only an interior showcase you won't need any texture changes. If there is also an outside link to this int. you shoul leave the textures there. But a TR int. claim doesn't need an outside link so landscaping should be untouched.

Finally...

Post by Hayabusa153 »

Okay, I finally got around to doing this. It should be fixed up now. Landscape is gone so it's clean. The bottle on the table is as good as I can possibly get it. I tried many different rotations until I finally went with a small tweak. The plate looks better and I got rid of the top scrib jerky as when I press F on those they bleed into each other. The pants are moved to the chest. They were too large to keep messing with on the dresser. Here you go:

Clean, Scrib Jerky removed, pants moved to chest. (Those pants are hard to handle!) Plate and bottle rotated to best possible positions.

Everything looks fine, the bottle and few other thing on the table could be still rotated just a little bit, but that is really nitpicking and I doubt any sane player would look at some random bottle for half-minute from every possible angle.

So I recommend you as interior modder.

a bit undercluttered, and sacks, being heavy, tend to go under shelves or on low shelves, rather than towards the top.
This said, the int was fine technically.
