The quests that will be in the release are all merged, and we have moved to the final stage of pre-release testing. This means that everyone (even you, ESPECIALLY you) should download the current version of mainland from [url=http://www.mediafire.com/?7dp3oe6ooe2nbo7]Here![/url]

This is it people, this is not a drill. Release is coming, and only through the combined efforts of the modders as a whole can we ensure it is as good as we all know it should be.

Testing priorities
Since all quests should now have been merged we can start playtesting all the quests to see if they've carried over correctly. This means that you should head down south, and start doing quests, to see if they work. Please, if you have played through a quest thoroughly, post in this thread. I want to hear if it worked properly and, if it didn't, what the errors you encountered were.

FOCUS ON MAP 2 QUESTS AND MAP 2 FACTION QUESTS. These have only recently been merged, and haven't been tested thoroughly yet. If you want to test the Map 3 quests, that's cool, we need to do that too, but those have been merged into their respective NPC claims a while ago, and should be way more stable. So again, priority is Map 2. Below is a list of all the quests I want us to test!

Calling it quits for the night

Akamora Dridea quest, directions were vague and I only found it flying zig zaggy all over with a scroll of windform. Other than this, good.

Slave quest I took the route where you help the dude. In the reward I was told that a good word would be put in with a friend of the guy, but I don't believe any information as to who that person was, where they are, and what help I'd get. Other route needs to be tested. Love the irate dialog for the dude btw.

Collector quest worked reasonably well. The stairs to the basement in the forsaken manor were too steep to climb without jumping. The water pit in the boss room was also very nearly impossible to clear with my character. On the top floor of the manor, the door is barred on the inside, but even after usage it remains unusable on the outside. Either remove the bar or block off the door completely. Also the ivy hanging over the door makes it very difficult to use. The only actual dialog problem is that if you talk to the dude about "My Collection" again, he give the lead in for the quest hook. He should have some dialog thanking the player for bettering his collection.

Ayemar's quest was quite nice, I like how there were multiple ways to go about it. Problems encountered were that while "south of ayemar" is accurate, if one doesn't take the offshoot towards the daedric ruin and notice the semi-obscured path to his shack, the player will never find Hlorgir's shack. The only other dialog problem is that if you talk to Tavrene Indales again after completing the quest he still says "I have news concerning the smuggling ring..." Also, why is there ordinator armor on the top floor of the ayemar guard house.

Also wtf do I have to do to enable beta comments? I've completely forgotten.

This is not how you get the quest.
You find the questgiver in the Necrom catacombs (sorry, I don't have the time to look for him now).

@BC: Add the following line to any point in the [General] section of your Morrowind.ini:

Her greeting-7 "This is the Helnim branch of the Guild of Fighters [...]" should link to "orders", not "duties".

Also, find and fix the "suspisicions" typo in a "latest rumors" reply.

Script TR_m2_q_20_Arfil doesn't work because an OnActivate can be detected only once. Replace the script by this:

Not after completing the quest, but after having been told of Vuvil's slaying by Tavrene.

Fix: in the Conditions of Greeting-5 "I have news concerning the smuggling ring." by "TR_m2_Tavrene Indalas", replace the two journal conditions by a single "journal TR_m2_Ay_FallGuy == 77".

I'll be unable to make edits to TR_Mainland until late this evening. If you find any game-breaking bugs that prevent further testing contact TF or arvisrend, they'll probably know how to fix things. Any other errors probably don't need an immediate fix to the file, so keep on testing and posting! :slavedriver:

Also feel free to show your excitement. This is the last big milestone until release, after all. I'm excited! With the amount of sleep I've been getting, I'm fueled by pure excitement right now! :banana:

Alt Bosara
- No one in Tel Vaerin has time for gossip. Yeah, seems legit.
- The nearby Telvanni Waystation could probably do well to be called Alt Bosara, Telvanni Waystation? I originally thought it was just another fledgling of what is supposed to be a town.
- This town really calls for the hand of Nemon. Land is all wonky and such. Also, 4 traders and 3 customers, one of which is blind, one an outlander and one a crazy bitch (I think that is the official term). And everyone outside falls into the water. That is just typical though.

- Geroth's background has all typod as al.
- I had a lot of trouble getting the rumour, since most of the population has unique rumours and whanot.
- In the end, the choices are mixed up. Telling Felmo to take the ring tells the player to hurry up and saying that you do not have the ring yet has Felmo thank the player and take the ring.
- The topic "Felmo Enlaris" has replies filtered for guards, but not by location, so now the guards in Akamora are also happy that he is gone. Must have been quite an asshole.

- Works fine, as far as I can see.

- The Waters of Akamora could probably do with some of those water sound activators we have. Just saying.

- Seems to work fine, though I would have liked to recieve a tip about which exit to take from Akamora. I went west, south and then east and the first Dridrea I found was the Matriarch. Then I found one spawnling. And that was the whole infestation as far as I could see. Also, I do not think 500 septims is enough for slaying a bloody matriarch. At least it wasn't a Monarch.

- I seem to be unable to lie to the brownshirt and attempt to reap the benefits of both sides. After I agreed to take his side, Guls had some lines that were not as mad as he should be. He should not be happy to tell me about his background, I do not think.

- Seemed to be functional. Dun Akafell was seriously demotivational though, with its hobbit-sized buildings and doors. This ends my testing for today.

I just wanted to say that I'm at a place with paid-per-time internet access and abysmally low upload speed, so I'm not going to edit the Mainland file for the next few days (until May 29, that is).

Did a couple of quests, probably will do a few more soon. I don't really know much about quest design, and I probably missed some errors, but whatever.

Tel Mothrivra - The Trials of Age

Llothis Dralor's name is misspelled in both of the journal entries for this quest. In the first entry it's spelled Llothis Aralor, and in the second one it's spelled Lothis Dralor. Other than that it worked perfectly, although I didn't try giving Drelasa a restore endurance potion that I didn't buy from Llothis.

Hla Bulor - The Famous Fraud

My biggest problem with this is that it's not clear enough that you need to raise Trela's disposition to continue with the quest. Also, I think if you pick the ruder option when talking to her the first time, it should lower her disposition (right now, it doesn't matter which option you choose, I think). Other than that, I didn't see any problems with it.

Also, I saw a tree majorly floating just east of Hla Bulor. But, other than that, looks great so far!

Edit: Did the rest of the quests in Tel Mothrivra.

Gone To Ground

Couldn't find any problems with this quest.

Quality Time

Everything worked fine for me. The only two issues I have with it are that Mohryl's chest isn't locked, making the key he gives you as a reward really pointless, and that the Amulet of Acrobat you get as a reward feels too great for a quest of this length and difficulty, especially with the other stuff you get as a reward, too. Aside from that, the quest is great!

I should go speak to the guy in charge of the castle to set the nord free, but noone in the fortress has a topic of the indales guys as to where to find him. Maybe add a quick topic to the inhabitants to say "blablabla, he is prop. in his chambers at the indales manor etc etc."

Also had a hard time finding the shack of the nord, since there is no road leading there directly. Following the road let me straight to the second shack where I killed the chaps standing there.

Mostly the way I played it through everything worked and was ok.

Galsu Merith's dialogue under 'Staron' - should be 'paid' not 'payed'. Also several of the responses to 'favor' overdo punctuation. Too many commas!

Almost nobody on Mainland sells Divine Intervention (sc_divineintervention) scrolls. Add them in negative (=respawning) amounts to some imperial keep booktraders and enchanters. They're needed for a quest, but also for general immersion.

The Tel Mothrivra quest involving Staron has some weirdnesses:

In the same quest, make stages 55 and 60 into finishing stages.

Here is the list of changes I made to the mainland file, if you're going to continue to playtest, use this file instead. Also, if an admin could possibly edit this somewhere to the top of the thread, that'd be great.

-deleted references of a random floating lantern and ladle floating near a shack next to the temple of Akamora.

-Made the gold reward for the Dridrea quest 1000 gold instead of 500. Also added more lesser Dridrea so that it really is an infestation.

-Added generic greeting dialogue to Flaalsa Irano of Akamora, that way if you're a Telvanni and you help her with the Dridrea problem, she doesn't tell you that you're a "Telvanni scum" right afterwards.

-Added a global100 variable to those "Telvanni scum" greetings that the residents of Akamora have, not that it really does any good at this point because there is only about 5 generic greetings for that town anyways, but whatever.

-Hartise's greeting now links to "orders" instead of "duties."

-Fixed the "suspisicions" typo in the "latest rumors" reply.

-Fixed script for NPC TR_m2_q_20_Arfil

-Fixed the smuggling ring dialogue that both arvisrend and Thrignar Fraxix had posted.

-Fixed the background typos and grammar issues of Geroth Enlaris, the enchanter.

-Getting the rumor for the quest (You Can't Choose Your Own Family) will now happened automatically the first time you ask someone in Helnim for "latest rumors."

-Fixed the choice mixup that Andres had mentioned concerning Felmo and the ring.

-The topic Felmo Enlaris now has filters for cell as well guards, so the guards in Akamora no longer care.

-Fixed the misspellings of Llothis Dralor's name in the journal entries of the quest "The Trials of Age."

-Added a little bit of dialogue for Trela in the quest "the Famous Fraud", now it should be fairly obvious that the player needs to raise her disposition up before she'll say anymore.

-Mohryl's chest is now locked (lock level 55).

-Changed 'payed' to 'paid' for the dialogue of Galsu Merith.

-Fixed the grammar issues with the ridiculous amounts of commas for the "favor" topic.

-Terrain_rocks_GL_01 Helnim (25,1) no longer float.

-Added a disable script to Erdlan of the fighters guild.

-Changed the rank requirement to do Hartise's last quest(s) to swordsman instead of Defender, also changed the necessary dialogue changes that go with it. If the rank of Swordsman needs to be changed, let me know and I'll change it.

-Fixed issue with dialogue topic Saruse Evenas. You'll no longer get the quest-starting reply after completing the quest.

-Did the same thing with dialogue topic "Lucrete Ponius", now you'll never get the quest starting dialogue after it's complete.

-Moved the de_p_chest_02_gold_50 out of the way of the Robber Baron in Otori.

-Same thing with the light_de_lamp_01

-Fixed the scroll issue by adding the dialogue entries that arvisrend had mentioned.

-quest stages 55 and 60 of "TR_m2_TMo_GoneToGround" are now finishing stages.

-fixed the "bizaare" typo for Journal TR_m2_HB_Fraud stage 50.

-Edited the sentence of Varden Alvis so that the player doesn't get the perverted idea that a Dunmer woman is doing someone shady.

The Brave and the Foolish (TR_m2_TM_Brothers)
Soren Uveran, reach him through Tel Muthada's main entrance, the one in the tube thing.


I liked this one, the only thing that looked weird is that Soren automaticly disappears after the fight with the dremora. Got the reward from his brother and could find Soren in his chamber again and got some more reward.

Misc mainland

Tel Mothrivra monastery still needs to be fixed with new models, if you want to include them.

When I unlocked the door to the turret of the Tel Mothrivra, south tower. I got into the room with the skellies etc. But the the door was locked from that side aswell. So I had to lockpick the door twice, which is weird.

And some other bugs that I posted in mainland thread are not fixed yet. I suppose that will not be forgotten, to bold everything out in that thread.

Script TR_m2_q_4_AlaudUveran lines 21-22 fire every single frame when the conditions are satisfied. This is not only a waste of perfectly good fossil fuels; it also makes Alaud disappear every time the player goes to menumode (this has been reported, like, 2 years ago by y.t.). Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix it without fucking up even more stuff. Also, Soren might and might not have the same problem. This is not really a bugreport; it's a reminder for myself to work on this when back home.

There is currently NO WAY whatsoever to join the Thieves Guild in Helnim, and even if you are in the Thieves Guild, getting any quests from the Helnim branch requires you to ask the "jobs" topic from Tiron Naren, which I don't think many people will do (he is one of 6 NPCs all stuffed into a small tavern; I personally wouldn't talk to every single one of them and try all possible topics each time).
Now, given the quests, this is all reasonable, but the player should get a reasonable pointer from Firewatch. Something along the following lines:

(1) Add a new quest:
Quest ID: "TR_m1_TG_ToHelnim"
Quest name: Thieves Guild: Rats in Hiding [better titles please]
Entry 10: Silniel the Maven, of Firewatch fame, has mentioned in passing a Helnim branch of the Thieves Guild which is headed by a Tiron Naren and which I should be looking for in Mjornir's Alehouse. They have not been making much contact in the last time, and I should try to find out what is going on. [again, improve as you wish]
Entry 40: The Thieves Guild in Helnim is keeping a low profile due to pressure from the Militia. [This should be a finisher.]
There should be some way to break these news to Silniel, but that should be completely optional and not touch any quests.

(2) Dialogue topic "jobs": Copy the reply
"I don't have any more jobs for you, %PCName. You should talk to the other ringmasters."
Then, in the FIRST copy (i. e., the copy that is above the other), add a new condition "Journal TR_m1_TG_ToHelnim == 0" (keep the other conditions in, of course), change the answer to
"I don't have any real jobs for you anymore, %PCName. You should talk to the other ringmasters. There is the Helnim branch, in particular, which seems somewhat reclusive lately, even as it comes to contacting ; they might be having troubles with the Militia, this gang of vigilantes that has formed not long ago. They hang out in Mjornir's Alehouse, and Tiron Naren is the person you want to speak to, if things are still as they used to be. If you happen to run across them, let me know."
(If it's too long, use "Continue".)

Played through Helnim and Marog miscs. Already mentioned a bunch of problems to Not directly. Couple of things:

First Helnim misc for jeweler dude gives the player an amulet of shadow. That thing is seriously overpowered. Even though it exists in vanilla I don't think we should have it as a reward for anything, let alone a mere misc.

When I found Jeela at the end of the escaped slave quest in Marog, her line telling me to talk to the wisewoman was doubled, as was the forcegoodbye.
Where the hell do I put the skull in the Salvarys ancestral tomb? Also, why do I get the feeling that the ghosts weren't supposed to spawn til I removed the sacrificial dagger?

On Temple guards vs Necrom Ordinators, I felt that the Ordinators in Mourning should be kept to their special duties, rather than doing things like impounding goods at the docks or watching the roads, so created a seperate set of henchmen for those more mundane purposes, to make the Ordinators seem more special.

I have figured out how to fix the Tel Muthada quest. There were LOTS OF bugs interplaying. Tel Muthada scripts seem to never have been sanity checked; there are several bugs (conditions that can never be met, startscript/Positioncell/additem/journal functions that are fired every frame, targetless functions on global scripts, and more). On the surface, they made Alaud weirdly disappear in menumode; less obviously, however, they were laming down the game and bloating the save even when the player was outside Tel Muthada.

Line 11 in script TR_m2_q_4_AnnaveneScript (the line says

Script TR_m2_q_4_AttiaScript has a pointless "if" statement (lines 21-23). Either add a "set TR_map to 2" after its "endif", or remove it.

Book TR_i2_238_bk_rogue_indoril has a typo "shortsightetness". Also, can't we just axe the third paragraph? ("In case of fire: don't update Twitter status.")

One important thing I have forgotten to say before: Once the Tel Muthada scripts are fixed, PLEASE USE A FRESH SAVEGAME TO TEST TEL MUTHADA. "Fresh" means "has never yet been played with that quest claim or the post-merge TR_Mainland active". If you use a save that has already seen the Tel Muthada quests, chances are that they're not going to work properly anymore, even if your character has never visited Tel Muthada. Yes, that's how fucked up the scripts were.

I apologize for anything that I missed, I'm going to spend the night fixing the new bugs that were posted, and then I'll reupload the next file.

As far as Necrom and Ordinators go, perhaps have regular ordinators doing the ground work? Only I think maybe they should have their armor retextured to match the white of Necrom, and give them their own unique name.

'Tis just a thought, and will probably end up taking far too long to do before release. But yeah, that's my $.02.

edit: arvisrend, I must have missed the Hartise greeting, I'll be sure and get that one on this next run through of bug squashing.

Also, I'm a little confused as far as greetings go. I'm not sure if TR has a specific policy, but wouldn't faction specific dialogue go in the greetings 6 dialoge? Yet I see a bunch of greetings asking to join a specific faction in the greeting 5 tab.
I suppose I'll add the standard greeting of needing to join the fighter's guild for Hartise, but I'm guessing I'll put it in greeting 5 for now? Unless someone has a better idea.

Let me know by tomorrow morning 8-9 am (EST) as that's probably when I'll be finishing up.

Quest is playable, but there are some issues:

If Bradasou's disposition towards the player is less than 50 he responds with
"Concerning this, I can only speak to a friend" (period missing btw). I'm not sure if it's clear enough, that it's the disposition that has to be raised to continue the quest.

If the player decides to kill Naleth after opening the skooma chest, it can't be opened afterwards, because the chest script doesn't have an option for that case.

I was unable to trade with Naleth (dialogue topic "my trade"), because he kept telling me that I don't have enough money. Maybe it's because Gold_100 is used in the dialogue conditions instead of Gold_001 ?

I don't know why there's a duplicated Bradasou's dialogue entry (topic "Naleth Llarni" -> "Excellent! Not only is my debt gone, but Naleth's...") for Arvs Rethrathi...


Also, TR_m2_Raleni_Taresi in the Windmoth interior stands on a table until he moves.

I thought I'd help out a little bit with testing :)

-The Silt Strider caravaner in Necrom says she travels to Sailen and Akamora, but the only travel option is to Sailen

-In the Necrom quest Old Soldiers, the lady in Seitur that I'm supposed to visit doesn't seem to be there. I've not checked outside of the village for nearby houses, but if she is there the dialogue is misleading.

-Alt Bosara, dialogue topic Felmo Enlaris. "Most of these preachers no to stay far away from Master Vaerin" needs to be corrected.

-Asking Master Vaerin about "Felmo Enlaris" has him referring to himself in the third person, he should probably have his own unique dialogue.

-The "Felmo Enlaris" topic seems to have appeared for all guards, including the ordinators in mourning in Necrom. Which y'know, makes no sense at all.

-In the Necrom quest "Honor the Ancestors", I found the cave and what is presumably the corpse I am supposed to retrieve the remains of, along with two Daedroths (the ghost only mentioned one, possible doubling?). Anyway, no journal update from anything in the cave, the ghost doesn't recognise that I've found his remains upon upon my return to him, hooray broken quest :P

I'll add more stuff as I find it.

-Boat travel in Darnim talks of her destinations but doesn't take you anywhere.

Okay, I feel as though I should give you all a status report while I'm doing this. Instead of listing the individual changes however, I figure it'd be just easier to say that I just got done with arvisrend's script changes.

I'll list all the individual changes when I'm ready to upload the file. I've just had so much work getting in the way, so my time frame has been limited, but rest assured; all the bugs you list are getting fixed, so keep testing everyone!

Journal doesn't tell me where he keeps his shovel.
He doesn't actually keep his shovel in a chest like I was told. The one in his house doesn't update the quest. This means the quest is broken. I'll dive into the CS later to see what needs to be done about this.

Sailen, Religious Inquiry:
Girynu Rathryon told me to meet him in the alley behind the hostel, then didn't move, so I went outside and there he was. Confusing. Maybe we need to put a timer on this to prevent it from seeming he's in two places at once. Or maybe have the meeting in the attic and just have him walk there. On the other hand, maybe he just teleported there. Adds a little mystique.
Needs more directions to the houses in the list of suspicious individuals.
Golveso Darys needs a pawnbroker flag outside his shop, rather than an outfitter. The journal should probably mention the Indoril Cuirass he's trying to sell. Wonder how he got his hands on that.
Idroso Menas hints at secrets, but no matter how high you get her disposition she won't share them with you. This is either an error with dialog entry orders/filtering, or just a design flaw. If your disposition is at 100, you have to have a damn good reason not to tell me your secrets, and a dialog change should reflect this.
Khayam-I's dialog updates the journal twice, this should be spaced out among the entries instead of thrown at you at the same time. If you refuse to help him, you can still remove the candles which should set him free, but that has no effect. If you refuse, picking those up should probably be made impossible, to avoid quest complications. Maybe her house should be locked and a guard stationed outside the front entrance after you report Idroso Menas to your Ordinator friend. Also, her basement trapdoor needs to be unlocked on the inside.

Holy fuck, why is Nothasea Delvas' speed set to 98? She runs around town like an idiot, looks very funny on a noble.

As a more general note: we need entries for towns that are available to all M2 and M3 NPCs, that mark them on the map. For easy navigation.

Also, regarding specific people dying - do we have a policy on having dialogue changes reflect that? I killed the lord in Akamora, yet still his wife is delighted to being married to him. Now... what's the standard fine for necrophilia?

Missing "." in "You want advice? Get out of here while you can. Fort Windmoth is no place to be" ("little advice" answer).


If any of you ever decide to axe "Verulas Pass, Morag Tong Training Camp", make sure to kill the "little advice" answers conditioned to it.

Script TR_m2_q_10_IlverothLeave uses a doOnce variable, but never sets it. I'd propose adding a "set doOnce to 1" between lines 21 and 22. Also, replace "if ( daysPassed == 3 )" by "if ( daysPassed >= 3 )" on what is now line 25. NOTE: neither of these has been tested, but at least the latter one is a definite bugfix.

Am I the only one who thinks "Save a Slave" would be an infinitesimally better quest name than "Save the Slave"? Am I the only one who wishes to see something even better?

Ok, cool, I plan on doing a bugfix round tomorrow morning, too, so PM me for the latest file.

The title is a bit... unspecific, in both cases. We should come up with a better one altogether, I think.

This is correct, decreasing reputation is a no-go except in the most extreme of circumstances. Definitely not something for a misc quest.

Old Soldiers (necrom) appears bugged. I get the items he wants returned but when I go to Seitur no one has the correct name, no one has any dialog relating to that name, and the person with the closest name has no dialog about the items either.

Also, visiting all of the shrines in Necrom I have to say, this was worth the wait.

Hmm, I shall start a new game and check again. Could be a bug on my side but I don't understand how that could have happened.

I've bolded out the bugs in my above posts that I've either fixed now or found fixed by someone else (hi Not).

Not a complete changelog, but a couple of things I changed:

I removed Hartise's Greeting-5 that was written by Not in order to link the "join the Fighters Guild" topic. Instead of it I added a Greeting-7 saying
"Welcome to the Helnim branch of the Guild of Fighters. Do you have a contract for us, or are you here to join the Fighters Guild?"
Note that "Fighters Guild" is the "correct" spelling here, since this is how the topic name is spelt.

"Quest" TR_m1_TG_ToHelnim added. Please check its entries for inanity and errors.

Killed more bugs in Tel Muthada scripts (yes, that includes Soren's automatical disappearance as reported by Mwgek, but also some more stupid things). Two of the quests (TR_m2_TM_Brothers and TR_m2_TM_SadSong_a/_b) must now be tested again from scratch, since so much was changed. Try to test them with fresh savegames, or else remnants of global scripts that were started back when they were buggy will fuck them up.

In the journal
"Simund told me that name of the woman he sings about is Attia Saradelphin, an upper class Imperial missionary of the Imperial Cult in Cephorad Keep. However, he has no chance wth her as not only is she too upper class for him, she is already seeing someone else. Simund gave me a gold kanet flower to give to Attia to show his true love."
I have removed the first "upper class". There's still too much (badly written) class warfare in that quest.

There's a latest rumours in Ayemar about Hlorgir being held prisoner. That should be disabled when the quest is finished, with a range of rumours based on how the quest is completed.

Perhaps savants should have some dialogue about the Nobura Tayo? It's the sort of thing they seem to know all about.
