TR_Data.bsa is registered but I'm still plagued by errors.

Post by screwdman »

Hello, I seem to be having trouble loading the new Sacred East release of this mod. I have made sure that I registered TR_Data.bsa properly, yet I am still getting mesh errors. Perhaps it's a problem with some of the past release files or maybe some of my other mods.

Here are some screen shots of my files:

-The current .esm's and .esp's I have running

-My archives and TR .esm's

-My Morrowind Warnings file

Thank you.

You should remove the files TR_map1.esm and TR_map2.esm from your load list and (to be dead certain that no other mod you have loaded has smuggled these files into your load queue despite you have not activated them) from the Data Files folder. The new TR_mainland.esm file replaces them.

And for the sake of all that's good, don't let Windows Explorer hide known file extensions. It's a pest and a security hole.

When I removed TR_map1.esm and TR_map2.esm, an error came up stating
Unable to find masterfile: TR_Map1.esm
despite having TR_Mainland.esm activated. Is there something else I should remove?

I have no clue about your meshes not appearing correctly, but I do sort-of understand your "missing master file" problem(although you shouldn't really trust my information). Do any of your files(saves or mods) show up as dependent upon Tr_map1.esm?

A save file may be the problem, although I assumed that those problems wouldn't show up before I got to the main menu screen. I'll check to see if deleting that file works.

Nope, that didn't work.

"Missing master file" means that a mod you use depends on an old version of TR. Remove that mod. Judging from your screenshot it's probably TR_CensusAndExciseTravel.ESP. Maybe there's a newer version already.

Apparently deleting that file didn't solve the problem, but that may have been a contributor.

Alright, after a bit of searching, I finally found the mod causing the problem. It was a TR extension of "Hold It" that took me a good amount of time to find. Morrowind appears to be running fine now. Many thanks to everyone for both helping me and putting up with my noobliness!
