100hugo's Interior Showcase
hey everyone!
i've been creeping around this site for a while now and i've finally done a showcase! I'm resonably new to modding and i'm welcome to any constructive criticism.
Anyway, this is my two story 2x3 hlaalu house. the exterior is found next to the entrance of balmora.
p.s i'm kinda a newb but i had trouble 'f'ing the lights to the ground. just wasn't sure if that was normal
Thanks!

I don't think you can 'f' function the light objects.100hugo wrote:p.s i'm kinda a newb but i had trouble 'f'ing the lights to the ground. just wasn't sure if that was normal
Anyway, I can't really offer a comprehensive review because I'm not a reviewer. However I will point out a few things in your showcase.
It's not clean, your showcase edits several other cells not related to your showcase. Open your showcase through TESAME, you will see this screen (example 1 on the bottom). In order to know your file is clean you need to ensure that you delete everything other then the cells you edit on purpose, custom items or scripts and TES3. Remember to save your file after you have deleted everything else.
Floaters: There are a few floating objects in your showcase (especially all the ones on furn_de_p_bookshelf_01.
Bleeding: Likewise, you have a few objects in the cell that are bleeding, examples include objects like light_de_candle_08, this is due to the uneven surface of de_p furniture. This can be solved through the use of rotation:
And yes I did just quote myself.Matin Sanguine wrote:Rotation: Some surfaces are uneven (like de_p furniture), which makes objects resting on them bleed a little in some places and float on others. This requires you to rotate the object itself to ensure that it is doing neither and rest on the uneven surface at the same time. This is accomplished by double-clicking the desired object, on the object's panel which will appear there, (see the image on the bottom of this comment) on the panel will be a section labeled "rotation" and adjust the settings there (though make sure it is by a small amount, within 1 or 2 degrees)."
Like I said, I can't really offer a comprehensive review so these are just some general points that I noticed personally. And there are good sides to this showcase, don't get that wrong.
Keep trying and good luck.

Thanks Matin! I've fixed those floaters on the bookshelf downstairs and i checked the candles so they aren't floating or bleeding anymore. i also cleaned the file properly.
If anyone else would come and give this a review before i upload my next one just so i don't miss anything that would be great!

I've checked over my showcase and i think i have fixed everything. i wasn't sure if i should remove Balmora from the TESAME thingy because i did add a house exterior there.
Anyway, here it is.

I apologize, but I won't be able to get to the showcase for a while (computer issues) but I'm sure someone will be around to review it shortly.
Again, I'm sorry for the wait, but things have been really busy lately, and it's hard to get to all the showcases that we have coming through.

Well hello, there! I'll step in right here to keep the ball rollin' on this.
First off, file is still dirty. Three cells of Balmora show up as edited, whereas only one actually has anything new. Always remember to reclean your files whenever you edit anything!
- misc_de_basket_01 could be bled a little more, or rotated.
- misc_de_bowl_01 could be bled or rotated.
- misc_com_bottle_05 could be bled a little more.
- Never forget pillows on beds! And never forget to bleed them a little bit!
- I believe 0,0,0 fog is bad, yo.
So. Not bad, very close. Aside from the non-cleaning, this file is technically good enough to recommend.
BUT, I think it needs more clutter. The shelves and the such are nicely cluttered, but they're only in a concentrated area. The layout kinda makes it tough to clutter a bit more... but, you could always put up some extra shelves on the empty walls, lay some clothing down upstairs, place food or ingredients on the table, etc. Any of those things could give the place substantially more life and make it feel more like someone is living there.
I think with some extra clutter and fixing the previously mentioned errors, you'll be good to go!

I apologise for the delay, but have another review.
-com_sack_02s can be sunk further than this, but this is not an error and just a tip.
-common_shirt_01's ground mesh is a bit silly and is uneven at the bottom. One of the sides is higher up. This is something that is generally shared among clothing items of the shirt and pants variety.
-One of the light_de_lamp_01 is bleeding into the wall.
-I think your northmarker is pointing west.
Other than this, it looked good. I am very much impressed with your rotation on de_p furniture and you have my recommendation for whatever it counts for.

From what I gather, my recommendation should put you back in the waiting game. Now it is just time for someone to confirm my recommendation and probably get you promoted.

Reviewed this a few days ago and forgot to post, sorry about the wait.
Biggest problem I found was that a few sacks could use to bleed slightly more.
