Possible to remove message boxes?

Post by Matrimelee »

Hi there,
does someone know if it is possible to remove message boxes which indicate that you got a disease or that you leveled up a certain skill?

I seriously doubt there are. Why would you want to?
But that's just my opinion, so it's likely completely stupid.

I'm almost certain there is a way to do it. I recommend asking on the official forums though as they would be better able to answer your question.

Ah. I can understand the disease pop-up, but you intend to keep the skill-up sound, right?
But that's just my opinion, so it's likely completely stupid.

I don't see why it's any of your business if Matrimelee does. By your own admission you haven't even played the game. I hardly think you're in the best position to cast judgement on other people's modding preferences.

Right, that is true. Sorry for offending anyone.
It's not like I haven't played the game because I don't want to. More because I didn't have a computer that could handle it (IKR, some installation error) and now I have no computer whatsoever.
Yes, I am an inquisitive little bastard, and I ask too many questions.
Maybe when I play the game, I'll understand. Just asked that because I'm a big guy for immersion, but I would like to know whether I have a level-up. Heard that you could break the skill system in Morrowind just by leveling up skills while you're due for a level-up.
Sorry if this explanation offended you even more.
But that's just my opinion, so it's likely completely stupid.

Open Construction Set -> Gameplay -> Settings

from "Spells" look for "You have contracted %s" and erase it

from "Menus" look for "Your %s skill increased to %d." and erase it

Maybe this'll do the trick. I didn't try it out, though, so you might end up having empty pop-up messages.

I can't delete those entries and I can't leve them blank either. Someone at the officials suggested that I might want to talk with one of the hotshots from MCP since that feature is hardcoded.

@Vocal Lurker & TheLexicon
chill out guys. No feelings have been hurt. ;)

Ach, that's too bad. Hopefully the guys at mcp can provide you with a solution!
