am planning to do a full TR run and am looking for a good place to start with a new character.
A place with some nice low lvl quests would be appropriate. ;>

I first traveled to the Mainland from Ebonheart by abot's Boats mod I think? (which I regardless recommend if you don't have it yet)
Personally started in Darnim, small fishing village with 1-2 starter quests, and an easy quest from Ashlanders nearby, but the surrounding area is rather dangerous and it's a long way to any other city afaik. You'd soon have to use travel services to... anywhere else.
Firewatch has more low level quests and is probably a wiser choice. Then Ranyon-Ruhn has some nice quests that you can do without too strong a char. Helnim... is so big it's got to have what you're looking for if you don't get lost.
Necrom you should definitely visit, though there are very few quests there at the moment.
