Akamora water can't be rendered correctly? MGE XE

Post by Matrimelee »

Am I the only one whose water can't be rendered correctly with MGE XE in Akamora?

Does the water have any special properties there? I am a little bit confused why the water looks like the Vanilla Morrowind one at that spot and the rest of the water (around the world) has shaders.

I am not sure if it's the fault of MGE XE or TR so I am posting it here if it's a problem with TR.

Akamora's water is fake, like the water on the tiers of the Vivec palace.

In Morrowind's gaming engine, water only exists at a single height, across all cells. In Oblivion, this was improved by letting you set water height per individual cell, and Skyrim improves upon it even further. Unfortunately, this mod is for Morrowind, so we have to make due. If we want to make flowing rivers, we have to rig up a make-shift solution; if we want water at different heights, we have to rig up a make-shift solution. This so-called 'fake water' allows us to do that.

Argh, that's very unfortunate.

Not really. We just need to get a better retexture going.

I think someone did a fix for this and posted it on the Bethesda forums a few months ago.

Try this:

That makes it really weird bright blue.

It was really weird bright blue before.

Edit - Prior to my using that mod, the water in Akamora flashed between the bright blue and normal coloring. Now, the water is normal colored, not bright blue.

Obviously there is a difference, and it is my opinion at least (as the curator of TR's data files) that from the available data, the linked mod isn't an improvement. In fact, quite the opposite.

have to agree, that "improved" water looks horrible out of place.
