Can't see why the much reviled mummy would still be in TR if a mummy wasn't wanted to begin with, so: why not at least replace it with Arcimaestro Antares' well-animated version? Has a spear instead of being unarmed, otherwise still made from beth source. It might not be 100% flawless - two small slits under thighs in its dead position - but that's *nothing* compared to the present version. Attached extracted files:

I think we would be better served by removing the concept of a mummy creature from our mod entirely. They come across as rather silly to me.
But if we really must keep it, Antares's mummy would be a definite improvement over our current model, yes. They should probably be limited to Ashlander burials, in case they haven't been already.

The one single problem I see with removing creatures from our mod that it has way too few of them already. This is a gameplay issue, not a lore one: Seeing the same old skeleton over and over gets boring proportionally to the size of the gameworld. And it's the bad kind of boring, because reading books and visiting every house in Almalexia are optional but fighting things isn't. I found the presence of mummies in judiciously chosen locations (best with some ashlander connection) to be refreshing, but I had far lower quality criteria back when I was actually playing TR.
Right, worth having for diversity if only in a couple of locations. How many of these would there be, though? Its current uses are mostly wrong or less than ideal:
Nimmutnabanit, Dunada-Nammu - Ashlander burials of sorts, fine
Nassudan - necromancer, bit of a stretch but not inimaginable
Varyon Ancestral Tomb - sehr wrong
4 more cells - just random caves, bad

Only on a very wide thematic level. They're not used by the same people and look very different (iiuc the mummies are ashlander embalmed? corpses, not flesh constructs like bonewalkers)gro-Dhal wrote:I think bonewalkers make mummies redundant really
