Post by faCe »

Hi,

I wanted to ask if some of you guys experience low FPS in towns like Firewatch, too. I often have less than 20 FPS in these places.

Cheers,

Wait until you get to Bosmora. Some areas are using more statics then the vanilla cells would normally use. Like the 'real' forest area near Bosmora. Not sure what is causing this in Firewatch.

Looks like I'll have to visit Bosmora. :D

I guess the frame drops in Firewatch are caused by all the houses.

I really can't wait for OpenMW because we can expect much higher frame rates from using it.

The loss of fps in Firewatch is probably caused by the many container plants I seem to recall the city having within its walls.

Aeven and I also came to that conclusion for the lag in the forest.

Bosmora is pretty hard on FPS... I blame that trader with all those arrows laid out on a table.

But the sacred forest west of Necrom... ouch! This has to be the worst area yet.

Could you post your specs? I haven't had any real frame rate problems and I'm running MGEXE. My fps does dip considerably in the forest areas though.
my opinion.

I do not get FPS problems any longer, as I recently bought a new machine that is capable of playing Skyrim with maxed settings, and can therefore handle the morrowind graphics without issues. My frame rate my go down somewhat, but it isn't noticible in gameplay. I am also using MGEXE - try reducing some of the settings when generating distant land.

Previously Helnim and the forest area west of Necrom were the worst as far as fps issues.
