TR Doesn't Seem to Load

Post by Mr. Noseybonk »

I can't seem to get TR to actually load into the game. I place all the Data Files in the Data Files folder, I registered the bsa file in the Archives section of the ini, and I have the files ticked to load, but no new land seems to exist in the game. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Are you just going by the map or have you gone to the cells? The map needs to be patched with the Morrowind Code Patcher, http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/19510/?. Patch it with the '-interface changes- : [] Map expansion (for Tamriel Rebuilt)' checked and anything else that looks interesting. That should fix the map along with other issues with the game.

It's both. I patched with the Morrowind Code Patcher and nothing is showing on the map and when I try to go to where there should be land, there's nothing.

Type coc "TR Testing Cell" into the console and see if that works.

then type coc "Firewatch" and see if that works.

then type coc "Firewatch, Prison" and see if that works.

There is a file in the ...\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind directory called "Warnings.Txt". This gets updated every time you run the program. Look in there and see what issues you may have. Neglect all the "Previous string is different ..." and "Following string is different ..." warnings - they are normal when you have MW+BM+TB (and TR) installed.

Mmm, I'm kind of stumped. Seems like both TR_Data and TR_Main are not being recognized Morrowind. Any errors when starting up? Do you have the CS and if so can you open TR up with that?

Have you installed Morrowind into Program Files?

Older games like Morrowind aren't coded to work with the UAC and folder virtualisation added into Windows with Vista and carried into every subsequent Windows version.

You hit the nail on the head.

Guess I get to reinstall everything somewhere other than Program Files since I don't want the UAC turned off.
