Claim 6-17 and 6-33

Post by Maklir »

Since this is my first claim, I would appreciate some ideas how this could be. I think this is in the Dres area, but I've never really understood what Dres is like, I tried to find something about that here but couldn't. Can someone point me at a Dres style in the game itself so I can see how it is.

Anyway, I would like to have a shack or two by the shore where lonely fishermen live, since this isn't a big area, mostly sea. And of course I would make the sea bottom much more alive with rocks, plants and stuff.

They were divided so people wouldn't take so much and be working on it for a long time. Why not claim one and after you've finished claim the other.

Just make sure to follow the guidelines to textures and placement of objects there.

Claim granted, still number 6-17.

Before you go any further, lower the road. What I mean by this is this: when you walk on the road ingame, it should look like there is a worn path, like so many people have walked on it, it has left the path worn down into the ground. If you walk around the AI region on Vvard. you will notice this effect.

As for the rest of the claim, the road needs the most detail of all, roped fences, flora, ect. Don't forget vertex shading around statics, seperating water from land, and whever else you think you need it (use grey or brown, no fanciful colors please).

If you want to start a new thread in the MAP 6 forum, that would be great. Update us on your progress there.

KEEP MODDING!

Thanks, I know about the flora. I decided to put the rocks and the textures first, then the flora and the other stuff.

And I'll remember to lower the road, and thanks again for your advices.

Hey Noir, or someone, I lowered the road but it seems as it goes up again when I smooth it so it's not "low". Here are the results.
I also put some vertex shading. Haven't done anything for a little bit of time, but I'm back now.

Hello, Maklir. The roads in that screen shot look pretty good (except what I see of it in the distance there). Really, they do not have to be lowered very much at all, just enough to differentiate them from the surrounding terrain by somthing other than texture.

Also, while I don't know if that is meant to be finished or not, some plantlife sprinkled amongst the rocks could do wonders for this.

Looks good so far though!

Allrighty, but I decided to put the flora and the other stuff after I'd put the rocks.

Here is my claim for those who need to match their claims to mine.
This is NOT ready for reviewing.

Deleted the attachment
Maybe later...realised it will mess up other claims, it goes ove the limits (the cells) a little bit.

Anyway, I've been very lazy lately, so please flame me so I will start again :)

Malkir, you are an asshole. And your modding is the worst I have seen in all my time in TR. You should just give up your worthless existence and jump out a ten story window in shame for the sorry excuse for spam you have disgraced our boards with. Get yourself a dog for a girlfriend, if even a dog will have you, and aspire yourself to cleaning septic tanks with your tongue to earn a meager living for you and your mutt. Find yourself a piss-laden hole in some fetid backwater to sleep, since society cannot muster enough pity to let you rest in our trashcans and drink from our toilets.

Did that help? :)

Maybe it didn't go through and you need to repost. Or maybe it was so incredibly offensive that a moderator found it and deleted it. I know I never saw it.
