Music Composer Applicant

Post by Telsar »

I am a music composer that would love to help with this amazing project.

I have the equipment and software to record fully orchestrated and professional sounding original compositions in any format you guys need.

If you could give me more info on how this music thing works (i.e. music submission, number of songs needed etc...) it would be greatly appreciated.

I can probably compose a new song every one (at the earliest) or two (at the latest) weeks.

I've provided a sample of my music (I hope) so you can discern whether or not you can use me.

I dont think we should use pianos in our music, but it is very talented nontheless.
Basically, dont use any "melodic" instruments that bethesda didnt use.
Also, we could use some percussive-oriented tracks, the percussion being bongo-type stuff.

I think you should make kind of an eastern sounding song, with lots of world percussion (like bongos kind of) and a sitar. It'd be a great song for desert areas.

I have a song program, I might try my hand at it, but It's just an idea.

Thanks for the input. I'll try to incorporate everyone's ideas a little

The song is called "Sea of Destiny" because it was originally made for Clone's Sea of Destiny Project. However, that was in the days of dial-up, so I couldn't get music to him, and the plan was scratched

Also, the piano won't be in my TR music, this was just a sample

btw: the file is called "sample", but winamp calls it "sea of destiny theme"...

Funnyly enough it didnt do that for me. You can embed track information and all sort of things in the file..

Perhaps i have found what many of you see in the banjo/sitar desert music...as i mentioned earlier, i downloaded the Djora Rebuilt trailer, which starts off as a desert most notable, and thought that perhaps this is the type of music you all were talking about....

So take a look for yourself and see...i hope itll let me upload (it wont)...so go download it for yourself

PS: You must be a member to do download the trailer.
Why wont the forum let me post a 19Mb rar file?

I don't really know what to say.
This is extreamly good.

*Muth is saving it to his collection*

Somewhere along the lines of TSP.
I love it.

If you can use that in the game and convert it to something morrowindish.
You'll bring it to another level as whit fly's music.

Greatly done.
If you don't bother with your past history. How do you know where your currently at? It's past what makes us who we are. And who we will be. Ignoring that, is ignoring who we are and where we're going.

Thanks for the input.

I was planning on converting this song to a morrowind-ish style, and I may be able to have the new version complete two weeks from now.

I will be leaving tomorrow and will be gone for a week, so I won't be able to get any composing or posting in for awhile.

Hey that sounds really great Telsar. I am starting to compose music myself, and i was wondering how long a piece like that takes to compose and record.

Also, can someone help me figure out how to upload files; I have a mp3 in .rar format but it says:
Could not upload Attachment to ./files/random_piano_improv.rar.

Whats up with that?

Sorry, I had stopped checking this post because I thought I wouldn't be getting any more replies.

@ Enlil: No, I don't mind if you save it.
@Aaricus: Well, the time it takes me to actually compose a song varies. Usually though, at times I get "musically inspired," and I'll sit at my keyboard for 4 hours straight to compose a song. However, my pieces are usually compromised of 3 to 4 piano "mini-songs" that I am able to string together during that 4-hour period. The time it takes for me to come up with and develop those mini-songs could take hours, days, or weeks. But really Aaricus, it depends on the writer. Everyone who writes music writes in different ways.
Oh, and recording just takes a little longer than the lenght of the song.

I like it Telsar. I think some nice guitar (acoustic) would fit for some adventurous stuff (nice string picking and old folkish sounds) just listen to some of nemon's stuff on his video. hey they had the lute in MW wich is like a guitar.

p.s.- telsar, is your name from Star Wars? i remmember reading about a Telsar or Tesar or somthin...

This question is probably dumber than i anticipate but:
Is it possible to have different musical scores for each province? It wouldnt seem right for sitars and bongos to be playing in skyrim and classical imperial-style instrumentals to be heard in the black marsh...

Then I think we must mess up the morrowind.exe/ini file...
but when we are talking about different music types:
must the music be text"less"?
If not,
within temptation have some good songs.
and if anyone of you have played the old game "Knights and Merchants",
I must say they had some good medival music.

We can't use other music than the music we compose ourselves, because of copyright.
Btw, isn't Within Temptation goth-metal or something like that?

Teli is right. We have to use our own stuff. But Within Temptation is totally sweet. Nightwish too. And yes, both goth.

Have anyone played Age of Wonders 1?
They used .IT files for music, and it sound good! .IT files is orchestral "midi" files, in a way.

But nightwish is not GOTH METAL! It's symponic metal. Goth are more dark and "vampiric".
