[FAQ] Tamriel Rebuilt FAQ

Post by Nazz »

Q: How is the work organized?
A: In Tamriel Rebuilt, things are done in layers.
  • - First the Exterior of an area is created.
    - Then any Interiors that were in that exterior are worked on and finished.
    - From there, NPCs & Creatures are added, along with Pathgrids
    - Next, Quests are added.
    - Finally, we check over everything, detail areas that are lacking, fix incorrect items, errors, and things of poor quality, and release it!
This is the order in which things are claimed, and claims made to areas that do not have the appropriate preceeding layers finished will NOT be granted. Modders whose speciality is not in one of those areas should look for threads elsewhere, or ask an older member where they can help.

Q: How do I claim a(n) exterior/interior/NPC/creature/quest?
A: First you will need to go here, and make a new thread for your claim in the appropriate forum.

Claim threads posted in the incorrect forum will NOT be granted. The coordinates or area that you would like to claim are already taken care of, so all you need to worry about is creating only those cells listed in the Claims description.

In the body of the thread, you need to include exactly what you intend to put in your claim. This is a MUST, and a claim will most likely not be granted without this information. If the plan you have submitted is acceptable to the Core, or whomever grants your claim, they will tell you that your claim has been granted at which time you may begin work.

You are now strongly recommended to update progress on your claim regularly. If there is no progress or word from you on your claim for over a month, there is a very STRONG chance your claim will be revoked.

This rule was instated so as to make sure people don't just claim something and then disappear. People who fail to update will have their claims revoked without notice. Updates should be posted in the claiming thread, and should be made in the form of replies to your initial post. Please see existing threads for examples.

Guidelines to Interior Claiming:

The moderator in charge of Interiors is Hermit. All PM's and questions should be forwarded to him. Read this topic for further reference: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=3837

Q: Alright, I have finished my Claim, so now what?
A: After you have finished you claim, you need to upload it to the correct spot provided you at the top of your claim thread, in the Attachment box.

Q: What happens after I submit my claim?
A: When a claim is submitted, it will be looked over by someone, to make sure it is clean and follows what the claim was originally going to contain.

If the claim is not clean, it will be cleaned by said person. If it is found unsatisfactory, even in this early look-over, it will be sent back to the original claimer for them to fix. Once the plugin is both clean and found satisfactory to continue it will then be merged with the rest of the claims on the map it goes with.

Once all the claims on a map have gotten to the point, the map will be detailed by a specific team of Detailers. Once the Detailers are finished, the map will be submitted again and will be ready for error reports. Any errors found will be noted and fixed in a specific Error Reporting thread for each specific map.

Once all the changes that were needed have been made that layer of the map will be released.

Q:How do I fix the world map problem (the map doesn't scroll over a certain limit)?
A:There is no fix to this problem, the limit has been hardcoded into the game. The solution we have for this problem is to have ingame maps included in books and scrolls to aid in navigation.

Also, please read the other FAQ Threads that can be found in the FAQ & Rules board.

Thank you, and Regards -
