The Elder Scrolls

Post by Gooblecakes »

errr... well... it seems kinda stupid that nobody I know even has the faintest clue what these games are named after! All I know is that the games are called 'the elder scrolls', and im wondering; what are they?

Yes the Elder Scrolls are very mystical texts, or actually a single scroll I believe, however random texts appear on it when the Priests perform their ritural. It isn't exact either, and require interpeting as I understand it.

Umm... I kinda have another one of those silly questions, but might I ask what language/alphabet are the elder Scrolls written in? I know the scrolls are practically impossible to read, but is it because of translation issues?

AFAIK, they are not written in any language, or if they are they are unintelligible for all races. Hence why the Moth Priests are the only ones able to read them.
<insert witty signature here. i might spend time trying to come up with something, but its not like anybody reads these anyway>

to be fair, i believe that it said that the elder scrolls were the artifacts of a. some gods, or b. some ancient civilization. i believe this was said in one of the earliest games. also, has nyone ever noticed the name convention that seems to place the word moth in every significant military installation in morrowind? curios, is it not?
