Imperial Ebony
The ebony weapons in morrowind are very Dark Elven with the style and Daedric runes on them. but the imperials use ebony aswell (bloodmoon). should we make Imperial style Ebony Weapons?

Here are runes on ebony weapons. admittedly perhaps not daedric but deffinately not imperial. they do look elven
why i said about imperial ebony is because ebony is mined in Vvardenfell from red mountain. so one would assume the dark elves who live there made the wares. as aposed to shipping the raw ebony to Cyrodiil and getting the weapons shipped back. seems silly

Well that may be the case but around 95% of Ebony comes from Red Mountain so what gets exported about the Empire, even if it's half, that's not very much when you consider the scale of the Empire is it? even if it all went straight to Cyrodil, that's a bloody big province to spread a couple of tons of Ebony over. I doubt they'd develop a style very different from that we see in Morrowind as they would probably rather save cost and time by using the same patterns. Besides those runes don't look very Meri to me, maybe Nordic.

Actually there are 2 types of ebony armor. The ebony found in most non morrowind provinces is "light ebony" which is stil a heavy armor but made with much less ebony than in Morrowind. I take that from 2 sources. 1) the rankings of the armor in the different games follows this suit and 2) There are books referring to the making of ebony and there is more than 1 style so it is logical that when looking at the different games and the look of ebony in morrowind that these 2 styles exist.
I would further conjecture that what is in cyrodiil proper is a mix of "heavy" and "light" ebony plate with the heavy going only to the very elite and that in all provinces besides morrowind and cyrodiil you would almost exclusivly find "light" ebony. Furthermore because of importing and the greater craftmanship needed light ebony would be almost as if not more expensive in say high rock than heavy ebony is in Morrowind because of it's rareity elsewhere.

The weapons definetly look more of an imperial style to me. How many dunmer use broadswords too?
Armor would be good to have at least two styles of though. hmmm jeremy was working on a different style, I wonder if he'd let us use it?

"There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact, it's all dark."
Oh, sorry. There's runes on the Daedric weapons and on some of the armor, but they don't say much. "HJAUDHGEWOPJI" or something along those lines. There's no daedric on the ebony, and if there is, whoever put that there has bad handwriting. But there are runes on several of the textures, mostly armor and weapons as far as I'm aware. Like the bonebold helm that looks akin to a shelled leech with a gash in it's face for your eyes. Didn't bother to look that up though, because I was getting bored of it.
Ebony Armor
Well, the one I've made is a more swanky looking version of the original Ebony armor.
It's not released yet, but it will be very soon.

Retextures are fine. Where did you pull that rule out of sirwoot? 90% of the items i submit to Objects of Tamriel are retextures.
Great work Jeremy.
Your Knights haven't been discussed for a very long time, but last i heard we were going to be using them at some point... just not likely in the Morrowind province.

Excellent work Jeremy ! And we use retextures. D'ya thing we should make a new model for every banner we make ? The rule is that if we can make a new model and not a retexture - we should make a new model.

Jeremy I think that armor is great but personally is a bit to similar to the normal Ebony in texture, also the cuirass and greaves don't seem to work together very well, IMHO. Still I think it is a great work and we do need some Light Imperial Ebony. I like the pauldron, makes them look Imperial.

No retextures? Jeez ... since when can people just pull rules out of their asses ...?
Even Bethesda themselves used some retextures.
Jeremy, good to know you're still having an eye on TR. We'll certainly use your armour, but most likely, we'll start to implement them in Skyrim and Cyrodiil, not in Morrowind (tghough maybe one or two knights of Stendarr might find their way to Old Ebonheart).
If you have some you'd like to share, you can always submit other quality retextures, btw ... that goes for everyone. Think of Morden's netch and chitin retextures. Adds more variety to the game and all. It's just that we don't want candy coloured noobish retextures. And we *prefer* new meshes *if* we can get them, but sadly, we can't always. And I'll always prefer a good retexture over a badly done new mesh.
