well, if that thing you have up your sleeve is an "awesome new castle", we need one in the current empty area anyway (castra praetoria) and deleting stuff to make room would be useless; although you will have to keep in contact with yinnie about how to make that one.

I will start work on this right away.
Me and the Female just moved into our appartment at college, and we will not have internet service in the appartment until Friday the 10th. Until then, I will check up on the forum every few days from the library.

oh and turelio I didnt hand it over to him, I handed sirwoots half over to him. There's a difference. and even if I DID hand over the whole thing to him, he'd be cast out of TR society for saying he didnt like the work of 10 other people who worked REALLY hard on OE and destroying their work.

I was more refering to Sirwoot, however, I do not think he would be outcasted. Yes, it would be a sad thing, but it is up to him. After being in so many peoples hands, you cannot really say that what was before is still there, it is just like many ancient cities, who are rebuilt every once in a while, it isn't a bad thing, and it would be in his right to do it, to change as much or as little. In the end, the only thing he must worry about is the Core accepting it.

actually there was a rehaul around the 3rd or 4th person to work on it, so waht you see is basically 6 people's compiled work.

Oh don't worry so much about it. He knows what he's doing. We will not have internet access in our appartment until the 10th (next Friday), but I can say that he has already started working on his part of the claim. So far what I have seen is very nice.
So stop worrying so much.

what im worried about is how so much of it is almost 100% done; therefore revamping would be more than just a bad idea - it would be almost stupid (more work) and unneccesary, plus there is a huge empty area in the middle 4 cells that he could be creative in (its the equivalent of a full cell, but its where 4 cells meet).
My opinion is I look forward to his work highly, and am sure it will rock, but if hes deleted anything i will be really dissapointed.

I'm a competent human being. An art major, at that. I know what to do and what not to do. If something looks good, I'll keep it. If it looks shitastic, I'm gonna delete it, regardless of whether or not it falls under the "100% complete" category or not. It's all good.

very nice, but two problems I noticed.
- The region is WG, do not use AI trees/rocks. THe MH trees are used all over the province except AI and BC, so those can still be used.
- Why are trees growing out of the street? use planters.

One issue I have:
Old Ebonheart is the largest, and wealthiest, Imperial city in Morrowind. Now thatched roofs typically are used by poorer people, as they are much more vulnerable to the elements. Don't you think Old Ebonheart should maximize the shingled-roof buildings and minimize the thatched-roof buildings?

Definitly. Maybe you should even retexture some thatched roofed buildings to shingled roofed? Also, there's a houses pack on the web that does exactly that ... I'll check if I have it archived somewhere.

Yeh, I personally feel we should have some new meshes for Old Ebonheart, there are only a few Imperial buildings and it'd look quite boring if we keep using them over and over again in the city. On top of that, as Dexter said, most Imperial buildings look rather poor (the thatched ones in particular), so we need more wealthier styled Imperial buildings for the city, as well as other major Imperial cities once we get to other provinces. I don't know if the retextures look good, I haven't seen them yet, but it seems to me that the thatched roofs aren't really flat but rather bumpy, so retexturing them with other roof textures might look very odd.
I should note that the exterior modders might also want to keep the interiors in mind. It should be possible for buildings to have a fitting interior, and when you go add windows and stuff everywhere on Imperial buildings, it tends to get very hard to make the interior fitting. You should still be as creative as possible of course, we don't want all the same buildings lined up as Russian appartment blocks, but just keep it in mind as you make the city.

Yeah, all buildings I added were the richer imperial buildings. I would say to make very tight, straight, and narrow streets seperated by large gardens.

At the moment I am working on the terrain, which is almost perfectly flat. Making such a large area of land flat would be virtually impossible in the Elder Scrolls universe, so I need to vary it some. Nothing worth posting right now. Plus, I just got my Internet hooked up in my appartment yesterday, so I am working on all the backtracked stuff I have.

Okay, haplo. I must admit I am worried about Old Ebonheart.
I must admit your screenies so far lack the grandiouseness one would have to expect from Old Ebonheart. Remember, that is one of the major cites. Like Narsis, like Almalexia, like Port Telvannis, like Tear. It represents the gtreatness of the Empire in Morrowind. Also, it is called "cathedral" and "fortress" in lore. It needs something grandiouse. New models. A large castle. High towers. It needs to make firewatch look like a fishing village, dwarf all other imperial cities. I am sorry, but your screens look too much like a backwoods town like Pelegiad.
Also, splitting this claim, even the city, was a great mistake. OE needs to look like it was made from one piece. I - adn the other cor emembers - don't want a Tamrielic post cold war Berlin - two cities, in completely different styles, welded together by accident.
I'd like to have a look on it, and the review board would like to, too. As would Nazz, who is responsible for map 3. To see what it is going to look like, what progress has been made, ect. Please PM yinnie the file ASAP, so it can be uploaded and had a look at.
We need to make this a great city, and thus we want to make sure it will be.

alright, these screens are from a couple days ago, and I've made some pretty decent progress since then...and about the split-claim thing, I'm giving my half to dexter so he can finish off the whole thing by himself on thursday.

Hermit, AFAIK the current situation with OE is when they finish, I will edit their work very slightly to make it consistent.
Barabus's new buidings would be awesome for this town in my opinion, if they get a retexture, plus we should make fort ebonheart alot grander (maybe add a grandiose tower to the middle).
As for new meshes for things like castles, who would do them? alcar's imperial mesh pack only has little things, no whole new buildings.

I am sure we will find a modeler willingto do some grandiouse imperial meshes. Also, I am very much sure Dexter will already make the two sides coherent, but some detailing will need to be done anyway. We'll see to that when it's time though.

We don't need enormous new models. The Imperial tileset is one of the most varied and adaptable ones in the CS. What we need are new pieces. New tops for the tower meshes, maybe circular tower pieces so we can build round towers as high as we want without having to use the two stock round towers, maybe a new keep...
Above all, however, is the houses. With the Imperial set I can build a metropolis without using a single new mesh. With the town, however, we need at least two or three new houses. In fact, that gives me an idea...

yeah...btw, I'd add a giant cathedral and a large uber-imperial mage tower if there was a model for one that I could use, but there isnt...I'm only using whats on hand and extending whats originally in place...sort of like the tuatha dundaerul...

Don't make it *too* uber. There's nothing worse then oversized everything... Impression can be gained through a *lot* other means then simply make a huge model and place it somewhere. The best impression there is, is to make lots of good detail. The size of objects aren't necessarily important at all.
That was my original idea. Personally, I don't like big models. They are awkward and hard to work with. I think a better feel would be achieved by using stock Bethesda models, with a few new variants to add flavor. For example, I hate Vivec city. It is big and boring. I am going to stay as far away from that as is possible.

however much I agree with dexter, I think the ultimate imperial model would be a huge medieval-style cathedral with stained-glass windows, but only if it were
