Umm.. Hello everybody.

Post by Kynareth Silverblade »

Just today I found out about this WONDROUS project. I really love Morrowind and just like Neverwinter Nights, I always play around with the toolsets, make things because its sooo fun and then leave them alone because they never contribute to anything because I always felt there was no point. But Now I can say there IS A POINT!

I have oodles of spare time and would LOVE to dedicate myself to this project by helping create the wondrous world of Tamriel but, I have absolutely no idea where to begin contributing.

I am quite familiar with the Morrowind Construction Set to the point that I believe I am just as good as the next person. Can anyone give me guidance, take me under their wing? I have no idea about initiating on my own. I only follow orders, SO COMMAND ME!

Ummmm... Please?

Welcome! Begin where ever you wish to, I think help is still needed with everything to one degree or other (not sure about exterior cells). There are some tutorials (especially in the tutorials forum) and lists of what needs done in the various forums.

Just work with whatever you want to work with and, most importantly, have fun doing it!

edit: Don't be surprised if it takes awhile to get responses, most of us are in the U.S. or Europe (so far as I know) and that can lead to some rather strange posting rates.

Yes, I believe that the exterior cells are almost all claimed. I think interiors are what we need now.

It's good to have you on the team. This group needs more schizophrenics! ;)

Okay okay okay, I will be serious now.

I am dead serious about wanting to contribute. I took a look at the Interior Cell Forum and OMG! Overload! It is too confusing for my newbie mind.

ALl these Cells Available, Cells closed, Group Map 5 Group Map whatever slinged around the place and thirty threads of jibberish in the topics.

Can someone, who is willing to help me, help me understand the workings of those forums. It is hard to just get a straight, 'this needs to be done, someone claim it'.

Do I recall correctly that I have to go through a formal procedure to claim even a small interior?

I'm confused...

I'll try to help if I can, though I've never claimed an interior before.

Basically what you should do is find an interior that needs to be done. If you go to the Interior forum, you'll find a few thousand stickied threads with "Available Interiors."

When you find something you want post a thread with the names of your claims. In your post you should detail what you want to do with each interior. If you are approved, then you can start working on it!

Hope this helps. :)

Edit: removed something I wasn't sure about.

Welcome to Tamriel Rebuilt.

Our claiming system is divided in 6 maps for exteriors. Interiors are corresponding to these 6 maps, so if you have an interior in Map 2, it will be somewhere to the east of Vvardenfell where Map 2 is located. These Maps are just to make the project a bit easier to manage for the core members (admins and moderators).

All interiors for Map 1 are done, there are plenty available for Map 2 and all the other maps are currently closed for claiming. They will open once Map 2 interiors are almost done. So if you want to claim an interior, you should check the Available Map 2 City Interiors or Available Map 2 Non-City Interiors thread. You find an interior you would like to claim, and make a new topic in the Interior Claiming Forum saying "Claim Request, [City/Cell Name, Int. Nr.]". Then it will or will not be granted by a core member and you can start modding if it's granted. You should also download the Map 2 file, which is in Member downloads, so you can make sure your interior corresponds with the exterior.

Good luck and happy modding.

I have truly wasted an entire "hour" of my life trying to write something in this waste of time post. But I erased it all and replaced it with this stupid message. I am young and irritated and tired.

Forget I ever came because "your" forums have clearly no idea how to throw out the stuff that has clearly passed its expiry date.

Every bloody post in that Interiors For Claiming Map 2 forum is 5-7 months old and in no chronological order whatsoever. How am I suppose to make semse of it all when I am both upset and angry.

I Just CANT! I wish I could confer at least a fraction of how upset I am right now to you all but that would serve no purpose but earn detestation from you all and thus ruin any chances of me being able to contribute to something I am serios about wanting to do.

All the unclaimed interior posts, though they were started months ago are updated on a regular basis, and are, despite appearances, quite up to date.

um...yeah...that's the childish attitude that makes people skip important things in their lives...

At these forums, we do not have unlimited space, and we like to keep the junk to a minimum. If you bother to look at the post and the date modified, you'll see they are kept to a recent version. Some posts are modified many posts a day, some only once every other day.

If you took time to read the stickies at the top of each board, you'd be able to understand just about everything that goes on in these boards.

Oh, I am sorry that you only look at the posting date of stickies. You know, there's an edit function. We make use of it. I update the interiors, daily. Usually more than once. Also, interiors claiming is done in the aptly named interiors claiming forum, which is for all maps.

See, it works like that:
- You post "I want to claim (city), (number). I want to make it (purpose of interior). I have read all the stickies and know that my interior should contain no NPCs, no creatures, only scripts that are approved of by our scripters (to weed out compatibility isssues). Now do I get my claim?"
- You get a reply ("claim granted", unless you make some mistake)
- I edit the interiors master list, and change the colour of your - previosuly white, thus clearly unclaimed interior (city, number) to green, which means it's clauimed, and add your name, so everyone knows who claimed it. Then I go to the available city interiors and edit (city)'s post accordingly, removing (number) from it.
- You work on your claim until you are done.
- You submit the claim in either a new thread that is caled 'Submitting (city, number) for review
- Sniper4, our lead reviewer, uploads your claim onto the review board, a forum whcih is invisible to all but reviewers, moderators and administrators. It is reviewerd for quality of work, lore obedience, and maybe other things specific to that interior. Either you are great and it just passes, or you are notified in a PM that you have to fix something. The claim's colour is changed to blue. After that has happened, you can claim something else.
- If it has passed, it is submitted for merging. The claim's colour is changed to yellow.
- Finally, the whole claim will be merged into teh group map where (city) is located. The fgroup maps will be populated withz monsters adn NPCs, and quests ... and ultimately, TR-Morrowind is done.

I hope that clears some things up. Oh, and a whole of three members that I know of live in or close to your time zone. I like in Germany (+1 GMT), most member live either in europe or in the States, so be patient about replies. I surely won't get up in the middle of the night to check the Forum for posts.
I Just CANT! I wish I could confer at least a fraction of how upset I am right now to you all but that would serve no purpose but earn detestation from you all and thus ruin any chances of me being able to contribute to something I am serios about wanting to do.
If you want, post what you want to claim, I'll grant it if it's not a list of 20 interiors or soemthing similarily outlandish.

This project is by far not dead. Now be nice and behave and don't shout at people, okay?

Oh, I'm sorry If I have appeared arrogant or impatient but I was just confused and I have had plenty of time to calm down. (however stupid getting a little perturbed was in the first place). I have looked three times, despite the fact you immediately assume that I "didn't bother" looking at the stickies etc)

I looked again this morning and this time checked out the 'Master List' of interiors and there 'seems' to be things written in black meaning there are things yet to be claimed but you see, I *have* been checking the last edited and the dates and they still say, (at least on my screen!) May and other early times. Its just, that if I'm looking at something that is indeed old and then make a post wanting to claim something that was probably submitted ages ago, I would probably look stupid and be embarassed.

Can I 'trust' that the master list or some other post is an accurate source of information to tell me what is claimable and has been claimed?

I understand your frustration with the system, because it can take some getting used to. But hermit lined it out pretty accurately. Most of the posts in there are updated with colours to show the status of the claims. Some areas are closed at certain times (I think everything except map 2 is closed now, and before that it was everything except map 1,) but that's because certain maps are much closer to being finished than others, so they focus on finishing every single interior in the needed areas.

If you still are having trouble finding a claim you want, you can PM someone (hermit or sniper4) and ask them for a little more help, maybe they can direct you to a specific post with an interior that is needed.

For example, there is this:

http://forums.tamriel-rebuilt.org/viewtopic.php?t=1513

I hope this helps. I'm glad that you came back; once you get used to the system, I'm sure you'll find that it works fairly well.

I really want to help do this so again, before anyone forgets that I asked, I looked at the 'Interior master List' in the Interiors forum.

Is that an accurate representation of what is and is not yet claimed? Because if it is an accurate list, there is only like a very very small amount of things that are unclaimed. Can anyone verify this to me and if it is suppose to be up to date, someone should update the post because Hathras manor was submitted on the 4th and it still says that it is claimable. It shouldn't tempt me like that.

The only thing that the list says isn't claimed yet is these 6 entranceways to a number of crypts and Darconis Palace which apparently, says to me, was started but not finished.

If they are the only things left I wanna to do it!

Darconis is currently on hold, as the city has been a bit detailed and the layout has changed a bit; an update can be expected soon. What little is left unclaimed (I think some Dragon Glade interiors, as well as the Marog Telvanni Tower) should be done within days; then map 3 will open again, and there will be TONS, literally, of interiors.

I have no idea why the Forum lists the Interiors Master List as not edited since May. I edit it daily, and so does Sniper4. Maybe because we're moderators? I honerstly cannot explain that. But rest assured, the IM Master List and the Available Interiors lists ARE representative of what is still to be done.
