Claim Request: (33, -24): Sirrilas, Daedric shrine ( map 3 )

Post by Aaron »

I'd like to claim this shrine, well, because I like making daedric shrines :) Is there any lore or creator requests regarding for example, what daedra are worshiped here? Also, as there's a velothi building of some sort right next to it, and a dunmer stronghold closeby, would the ruin be occupied by the usual daedric cultists, or is it relatively empty? Anyway, I was thinking I'd put the primary shrine in the upper levels (the thing is pretty tall) and the lowest parts that the underwater door opens into would be flooded with lots of plant growth on the walls, maybe make them a former crypt for the shrine's high preists? I don't know if that fits with lore or not, if not I can try to come up with something else.

Edit: Also, I'd make the interior for this relatively large. Not huge, maybe 3 cells, but large for a daedric ruin.

I am as of yet not aware of any claim maker reqests that contradict your ideas, which I really like, by the way.

The daedra being worshipped in dunmer daedric shrines are:
- Malacath
- Mehrunes Dagon
- Sheogorath
- Molag Bal
- Boethidah
- Mephala
- Azura

I like the priests' crypts idea.

Granted. Have fun with it!

Alright, I plan to make this a large shrine to one Daedra, probubly Boethidah or Mephala, as there aren't many shrines to them. Also, did the Chimer burn their dead before the days of the Tribunal, or did they sometimes bury them whole?

Dunno for sure, read "Dunmer Burial Rites". I think they kept their bones but removed the flesh, but better read that book.

Sweeeeet.

Make sure to put nto a readme that this interior is to be populated by giant spiders, cave spiders and spider daedra. And put vorrheis' cocoons, spider webs and other spidery things everywhere. Or at least into the crypts, maybe not into the main ritual room.

I tried once to download the spider daedra and the spiders, but all those downloads don't work.

Ok, I think this shrine should not be inhabited by any humans. Only spiders and spider Daedra (assuming we can find a working download of them...) I'm thinking this shrine would be a good location for the start of a shrine quest for Mephala (I know we already have one, but it's kinda Morag-Tong specific). Obviously that'd be added in the quest phase ;) I'll probubly do that myself, although I don't know how I'll get the voice.

Anyway, here's some new screenshots, with mosses, rubble, revamped lighting, and some mushrooms on the rock ledges around the waterfall.

Mephala is vorrheis' creation.

Also, Aaron, that interior looks nothing but awesome! You're a genius.

Keep up the great work!

Since the middle level entrance to the shrine is a cave door entrance rather than a daedric entrance, I'm going to make it lead to a small cave which will be occupied by a small group of rather weak necromancers, it will be an arrangement similar to that cave in the sheogorad region where the outlaws are hiding in a hidden cave up above the main cave, which leads into Marara's lair (the vampire). A logical precaution for necromancers in Indoril territory I belive ;) The cave will also be linked to the interior of the shrine through a broken wall, so a casual explorer would completely miss the cave the necromancers live in and pass through into the shrine... where they'd make a nice meal for the spider daedra.

Also, a couple more pictures, I finished the upper halls which will be the main way into the shrine. These pictures are of the upper and lower parts of the entrance hall.

Here's two more, this time of the necromancer's lair I mentioned. This first shot is of the passageway that runs below it, the entrance to the lair is directly above the center of this narrow passage, between the two pillars. The second shot is in the lair itself, which is relatively small, only 4 rooms, this one showing the 'bedroom' (background) and colapsed statue.

Uh... well, I'm working on the catacombs now, but I've run into a snag, I still don't know how to make them look like an ancient burial place for former chimer high preists. Dunmer Burial Rites isn't a standard Morrowind book as far as I can see, is it in BOT?

That's an idea... But given this is in a Daedric ruin, and I planned to have the catacombs use the daedric interior peices and not cave... and concidering it's underwater, I doubt there's anything I could copy from that other than the mummies, which would have degraded long ago from the water.

Then why don't you make it more of a degraded area due to the flodding where stuff has fallen apart and ther's rubble about.

Oh there's colapsed and rubble filled areas throughout the shrine, I just am trying to figure out what to use to represent the catacombs. I mean, if I really want to take the easy way out I could just have the burial chambers themselves be caved in, so there's no way to know what's in there, but then there's nothing really identifying the cell as being the catacombs, and there's no reason to explore it, as I planned to put some decent stuff in the tombs to make it worth swimming down to them.

Edit: Ok, I'm gonna change the layout of the catacombs somewhat to place all the burial chambers in such a way that they're slightly above the water, then I'll bs some kind of tombs out of daedric tiles (I'm good at bsing) and place ashlander mummies (minus the ash salts of course) in them. That should do the trick, maybe adorn the mummies in some some fancy jewelry and such befitting high preists.

You might want to contact greybeard, and ask for Vorrheis ashlander mummies, once you are going to place creatures in it (I suppose you are going to place the creatures). They have a script attached, so when the player comes near, they rise and attack.
