That aside. The Nord gods, that number 8 total, are basicly the same as the ancient mora(men)'s depiction of the Aedra, or the Eight Gods of Order, which the imperial cult shares in common.
Alduin, whose elvin name is Akatosh, called the world eater, creator of Nirn (the earth).
Dibella, same name in both languages, goddess of beauty.
Orkey, a god of trickery, called the old knocker.
Tsun, a dead god.
Mara, Goddess of love.
Stuhn, also called Stednar, god of justice and mercy.
Kyne, goddess of warriors.
Jhunal, called julianos, god of priests, knights, and hermits and orders.
Shor, called Lorkhan, god of the underworld, whose heart was ripped out, later found by the dwemer, and used in Dagoth Ur's Ashkalukahn creation, and source to the Tribunal's Imortallity.
Ysmir, called Talos, the Dragon of the North, whom men rembember by the name of Tiberius Septim, first emperor of the third empire of men.
Herma-Mora, an Aldmeri Demon who seduces with tricks.
Mauloch, whose name means Mountain Fart , an orcish god with effect on the Nord gods.
Then their are the Daedra, worshiped in all cultures:
Azura, goddes of the night and wisdom and prophecy.
Boethiah, Ancestral god of the Chimer and Dunmer (Dark Elves).
Mephla, the goddess of mischief, called the web-spinner.
Sheogorath, god of madness.
Malacath, god of orcs and of strength, strangely, weakest of the Daedric gods.
Molag Bal, god of rape.
Mehrunes Dagon, god of destruction and chaos, whose will is bent against Mer and Man.
Hicirine, God of the hunt, father to the werebeasts.
Clavicus Vil, whose purpose I forgot.
Sanguine, who is a god of deception.
There are six other daedra, but I forgot their name.
Those aside, there is also the King of Worms, Zurin Arctus (The underking), and many other gods.
Those are the main ones.

Stendarr is the God of Mercy and Justice. Therefore, he must also be the bearer of Duck Tape, for only Mercy and Justice can use Duck Tape for the Good of man.

Akatosh is Cyrodiilic, Auri-El is his true (elven) name, and he was the leader of the early elves and killed Lorkhan (Shor, known as Shezarr in Cyrodiil).
Herma-Mora is Hermaeus Mora one of the Daedra Princes, Mauloch is the Orcish name of Malacath the former Aedra who was eaten and defecatted out by Boethiah (hence the name Mountain Fart) he used to be Trinimac - strongest of the Aedra and another elven champion.
Orkey has no western parallel as the eighth Aedra is actually Zenithar - known to the elves as Z'en though the Altmer do not worship him.
Tsun is probably Arkay - god of life and death.
Stuhn is Stendar not Stednar, he was the 'apologist of men' in the early elven pantheon
Julianos is the god of wisdom and logic BTW.
Lorkhan is not god of the underworld in any other religion as such a place doesn't really exist, there is only Oblivion and Aetherius, neither of which counts as an underworld, or true afterlife. BTW it's Akulakhan - not Ashkalukhan.
Tiber (not Tiberius - he was a Roman emperor in the real world) Septim is obviously not a real god - that should be pointed out he was just a rather poerful long lived man.
The full list of 16 Daedra Princes are:
Azura, whose sphere is dusk and dawn, the magic inbetween realms of twilight; known by the names The Daedric Prince of Moonshadow, Mother of the Rose, and Queen of the Night Sky.
Boethiah, whose sphere is deceit and conspiracy, and the secret plots of murder, assasination, treason, and unlawful overthrow of authority.
Clavicus Vile, whose sphere is the granting of power and wishes through ritual invocations and pact.
Hermaeus Mora, whose sphere is scrying of the tides of fate, of the past and future as read in the stars and heaven, and in whose dominion are the treasures of knowledge and memory.
Hircine, whose sphere is the hunt, the sports of daedra, the greatest game, the chase and sacrifice of mortals; known by the names The Huntsman of The Princes, and The Father of Manbeasts.
Malacath, whose sphere is the patronage of the spurned and octracized, and the sworn oath, and the bloody curse.
Mehrunes Dagon, whose sphere is destruction, change, revolution, energy, and ambition.
Mephala, whose sphere is abscured to mortals; known by the names Webspinner, Spinner, and Spider; whose only consistent theme seems to be interference in the affairs of mortals for her amusement.
Meridia, whose sphere is also obscured to mortals; who is associated with the energies of living things.
Molag Bal, whose sphere is the domination and enslavement of mortals; whose desire is the harvest the souls of mortals and to bring mortals souls within his sway by spreading seeds of strife and discord in the mortal realms.
Namira, whose sphere is the ancient darkness; known as the Spirit Daedra, ruler of sundry dark and shadowy spirits; associated with spiders, insects, slugs, and other repulsive creatures which inspire mortals with an instinctive revulsion.
Nocturnal, whose sphere is the night and darkness; who is known as The Night Mistress.
Peryite, whose sphere is the ordering of the lowest order of The Oblivion; who is known as Taskmaster.
Sanguine, whose sphere is hedonistic revelry and debaucherie, and passionate indulgences of darker natures.
Sheogorath, whose sphere is madness and whose motives are unknowable.
Vaernima, whose sphere is the realm of dreams and nightmares, and from whose realm issues forth evil omens.
I have that bit on the Daedra as a text file as the question comes up so often.
All the Elves acknowledge one of the Aedra to be (Altmeri) Y'ffre (bosmeri = Y'ffr) who is a general god of nature, he created the physical laws of the mortal world by becoming them himself
Mannimarco (a clever rearrangement of the name of a barbarian tribe during Roman times - the Marcomanni) is the God of Worms, he used to be King of Worms - a powerful Illiac Bay necromancer but was elevated to godhood by the player character in Daggerfall because of the Warp in the West by which all the possible game endings actually happened.
The Underking is not a god, he was Zurin Arctus (don't believe that nonsense about King Wultharf being the underking - it's invalidated by Morrowind's intro anyway) the dead former Imperial Battlemage and he died during the afformentioned Warp in the West, which was his goal anyway so let the guy rest in peace for a while - must be tired staying up for centuries after he died LOL.

Jyggalag - he doesn't exist anymore in lore, or if he does he's dead and gone somehow - the wheel requires there to be 16 Daedra Princes (gaps in the wheel) to correspond with the 8 Aedra (spokes of the wheel) it is possible that Malacath is not counted among the 16 as he is not a true Daedra but rather the corpse of an Aedra.
A little observation I came up with looking this stuff up when I tried to rationalise the fact that there are 10 Aedra with only 8 spokes to the wheel: all versions of the 8 Divines cult ignore the most important of the Aedra (from a mortal perspective anyway) Y'ffre though I have a theory that Arkay replaced him when the physical Ehlnofex were set by Y'ffre - he 'became' the land and the force of nature at the same time Arkay was created to govern the life and death of mortals - before the Ehlnofey there were no natural laws like life and death or even the form one took - all mortals shifted from animal to plant and back again. It is known that Arkay 'the mortals' god' and that he did not exist before the creation of the mortal plane.
Further to this Magnus, the Aedra who devised the schamtics for the mortal plane and engineered it's form is not part of the wheel, this I believe is because he successfully escaped (in part) from the mortal plane - he is now in Aetherius which by defenition is outside the wheel so even though his remnant is felt by mortals as magicka on Nirn it is not Magnus, it is only a small part of him.
As for Trinimac/Malacath I have no idea how to explain that in light of Vehk's tower and the wheel.
I have another theory about how to fit in the Aldmeri god Xarxes but I can't be asked right now as almost no one has heard of him.

All the Daedra are in Oblivion they are an integral part of it and it is an integral part of them; Oblivion by defenition is within the wheel as the rim of the wheel is the Aurbis - Anui-El, the soul of Anu the everything. There are/were other Aedra but those who remained within the wheel are now dead or they bred to produce the mortal races; those who did not participate in the creation of the mundus would be outside the wheel now in Aetherius like Magnus who escaped the creation at the last moment - they're off enjoying being in the prescence of Anu and have nothing to do with Nirn now but the Daedra are all within Oblivion and hence within the wheel.
It should be mentioned here that the 16 have nothing to do with the creation of Nirn, that is why they have retained their immortality.

Because it is not claimed as a theory - Vivec has accomplished it himself, so did the Marukhati Selectives. Or at least they each claim to have done so.

Yes but the Nordic version of him created the world. You gotta remember that every culture puts their own spin on the creation - the Ra Gada version of Auri-El, think his name is Tall Papa or something along those lines, he created Lorkhan (called Sep IIRC) as a helper, the Monomyth and the Cyrodiilic creation myth are generally the most consistent being only two sides of the same story, one says the creation was good (human), the other says it was bad (elven).
So while we know from outside the game that Auri-El didn't make the world, he was the first of the etada; the Nords don't believe this, in their distorted version of the creation myth it was Alduin - their version of Auri-El - who made the world.
