i made these dragonbone boots for fun, they were a quick job but would it be worth it to spend more time improving them? are they "lore freindly"?

I like the whole idea behind it and since there are dragons in Tamriel I see no lore conflicts.
But you need to sharpen those textures.

It would be neat if you could make a complete dragonbone armor set.
You already got the cuirass... and soon the boots.

The problem with dragonbone and dragonscale armor is... dragons incredibly rare in Tamriel, which means dragon bones and scales are incredibly rare as well. Personally I think dragonscale armor should be the best medium armor, not a midrange one, and dragonbone would obviously be very good as well. Not to mention VERY rare and VERY expencive. Probubly the sort of thing you can't buy, on par with daedric armor in rarity.
Claims completed:
Yashazmus, Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon
Mzankh, Dwemer Ruin
Nchazdrumn, Dwemer Ruin
Sirrilas, Shrine of Mephala
Moriken, Abandoned Dunmer Stronghold
Old Necrom Morag Tong GH
Darconis Diamond Mine
Assorted other boring claims.

I think the cuirass is actually an artifact (like the lord's mail -not rare item), in which case we could not use this. However, I like the idea of imagining a full dragonbone armour (would kick ass if done right).
So, my suggestion would be to sharpen the texture by alot, and remove the skull from the knee-part - they just look stupid, as a dragon skull would be about the size of an entire kagouti. and it couldnt be dragonling either, but their skulls would make VERY neat pauldrons however (if they cover upper arm too that is - the dragon statue in ebonheart is actually a dragonling, so thats how big the skull would be).

Has this not already been done?
http://www.euro-morrowind.com/index.php?section=plugin&code=05&id=2506
(Looks a little weird at first)
Just wondering, since it would be a little pointless to do something already done...
(Theres also a full set of: DragonScale, Dreugh, Savior's Hide - either on Euro-Morrowind.com or Summit)
Just my toughts, and ofcourse i could be wrong

Isn't dragonscale actually not made from real dragonscales? I seem to remember that I read somewhere that dragonscale armor is actually made from other creatures. It would make sense, judging by the cost, rarity and armor rating. And not to mention that dragons haven't been seen let alone killed for armor in a long time.

you need better textures. Those right there kind of stink. The coloring is wrong, and there is WAYYYYYYYY to much leather/cloth showing.

I disagree; I like them alot. All I would do is add some sort of covering on the back of the greaves also - and when the whole thing is done, let morden tweak the textures a little bit to give better detail.

whoops I thought we were talking about dragonscale, not dragonbone.
That looks great for dragonbone. I'd say add more detail /change the greaves a bit, and it'll be perfect.

um.... I believe dragon bone cuirass was supposed to be a unique artifact unlike anything else. The imperial library says:
"Dragonbone Cuirass
Also known as Dragonbone Mail, this cuirass is one of the greatest artifacts any collector or hero could own. It is constructed of real dragon bone and was enchanted by the first Imperial Battlemage, Zurin Arctus, in the early years of the Third Era. It is a truly exquisite piece of work and many have sought to possess it. The properties of the Cuirass allow the wearer to resist fire, and to damage an enemy with a blast of fire. Little is known about the involvement of Zurin Arctus with the enchantment of the Cuirass, but an old tale speaks of a debt that he owed to a traveling Warrior. Like the Warrior, the Dragonbone Mail never stays put for long. The Museum of Artifacts offers 30,000 gold for it."
Making more dragon bone armor would be like making a wraithguard cuirass, or a gold brand tanto .

you could make it like a fake type of armor, like a replica made by some fanboy armor apprentice that has stats a little higher than chitin.

negrodomous, they are good, I just think if people could do more (unsexy) things, it would be better for the project. We arent going to use uber things with the exception of very few. What we really need are more common like armors. I really wish people would stop making really rare things and ask the core whats really needed.

Make a new cuirass, and maybe we'll use it. It's a shame to let this go to waste ... but no dragonbone cuirass. I perfectly agree with Majra. We need people to do less sexy things, not yet another uber item. There're already sooo many uber items around after all ...
Not to degrade your work, mind you. I like it, though the textures could use a little sharpening.
Model a new cuirass, and we can maybe make it a new set of bonemold, or maybe a new kind of bone armour, or maybe a new type of mail.

Uber - derived from the German "über" (Americans have a hard time with Umlauts, so they usually pretend they're vowels), which means "over", as well as, when attached to another word, a "big (word)".
As I used it, it's used to describe things that are too powerful and that muight disrupt the game's balance.
And, aaah, you retextured ... well, too bad. Why don't you do what Morden did, though, and make cool variations of existing armour? Check what he did for chitin, netch leather, and steel armour.
