Map Screen 'Error' ?
Hi, I'm a new member. I haven't explored the map yet but I have it installed and enabled. The first thing I noticed is that a thin strip of the map is visible along the western edge of the map screen west of the coast of Solstheim. Cuneo is down but as soon as I can sign up for Photobucket I'll post a screen to show you. I am currently running Havish, Firemoth, and Haldenshore in addition to the two expansions and Map1. Hope that helps.

Following the signs is all good and well but permit me to be a little anal here: it's really COOL to see the province of Morrowind growing a piece at a time on the map. It seems to me that part of the payoff for all of your collective sweat and toil is seeing the in-game map fill in around Vvardenfell (And Solstheim), don't you?

A pity, that. I'm certainly no modder but I hear that a lot of the engine and CS are hard coded leaving the modders with hair pulling experiences like this.Morden wrote:but there is nothing we can do, aside from running an external application and somehow tying in your movement through cells to it.

I hope the upcoming title (TES IV Oblivion) doesn't have the same annoying problems with its CS.

The method is:
-open console and wright "tm" (w\o quotes)
-stick your nose to the ground
-turn around a few times
-cast 100% blind on yourself
-run
-when blind effect is gone try to find where you are
In a few hours you won't require sich thing as map and compass. Beleive me.

welp
Has anyone questioned/heard from a dev about this? Like perhaps there
might be a "map render" setting or something to that effect which defaults
to a very low value, but which the user can increase without an exe hack?
When I'm exploring, I switch back and forth between big and small maps
constantly to make sure I haven't run around a mountain or something and
accidentally skipped a huge area. This bug is quite annoying with my style
of play, to the point where I would consider an exe hack if that was the
only way to repair the functionality.

The only real problem is not finding towns and such but finding remote caves, tombs and ruins. No more 'Here, I'll mark it on your map', all directions will have to be included on a scroll describing the route to take in detail.Stalker wrote:The method is:

If you're just running around the map, finding towns will not be too much of a problem with all the road signs and such.

Map Screen 'Error' ?
Is it possible to have the "here, I'll mark it on your map" mark on your portable/inventory map? Can't we have an inventory map that, when you equip it, shows a map like the menu map, but with the rest of Morrowind on it too? Or is that impossible...?
Y'know what? I bet that we need a scripter for this.

caves are not supposed to be found without help though. Most of the time caves are found by strenuous search and asking people. That is what makes the adventure, not knowing exactly where it is, and going straight to it

I've getting used to not having a world map... and i like it better cause its more like real travelling. You actually have to use road signs
On a side note.. i couldn't find anything in the FAQ threads about the map bug. Is it in there somewhere, or have i been wrongly telling people to check the FAQ?

On the same subject then i have downloaded the Map1 with the cities and interiers as well as exterials.
But me being me I already had the First Exteriers only map running in my current game, no i find after unchecking that and checking this new one all exterial cells are duplicated, cause the landmass will not disappear even though the mod is unchecked in datafiles.
Any ways around this?
I know that a similar thing happed with Firemoth Mod and if it was unchecked the island stayed in the game??????
I downloaded afurther mod to get rid then saved then go rid of the mod.
