Use of WELLS - a suggestion...
Any chance of using wells to their full exciting game potential?
Is it just me or would I be right in thinking that water wells of Tamriel [and Morrowind in particular] are decidely under utilised?
I'm really really surprised but I've only ever found one that I can climb down into [the Skaal Village on Solstheim] - yet to me they are the perfect starting place for a load of secret underground passages.
* They could link faction houses
* Have niches with loads of stashed goodies
* lead to caves and pools
* be wet, dry or filled with lava
* used for secret asignations
* perfect for dumping that unwanted body...
* well...you get the idea.
So far no one seems to have created a "live" lid or exploited the magical properties of this potentially fun gaming element....
Just a thought.

Reality is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

Negro, that was in the first post in here.Zalthor wrote:[the Skaal Village on Solstheim]
But then, he's not known for being all too observant.
I disagree with the tunnels in the wells... Gooble is right, it would break alot of game continuity with Vvardenfell. Although there is one in Solestheim, that is the only one in existance. Perhaps if used extremely sparringly, it could be acheived, but most wells just lead to underwater rivers or collection pools. Those are boring.

How would a well be anywheres near a lava pool?Zalthor wrote:or filled with lava
Someone did a well mod before. You had to find out why the local Pelagiad water supply was tainted.
I have attached it because it might be quite hard to find on the net (it is quite old).

Well not realy the body would be found sooner or later when people started drinking water from "that aufl smelling well" and died becoue the water was cotaminated by a rotting corps.Zalthor wrote:* perfect for dumping that unwanted body...

Great idea...in fact...it's sort of been tried already, except it was a bucket and a water pump in the garden. Draw off your bucket of water, keep it in the house and when you need a health fix "drink" from the bucket.Negrodomous wrote:someone could model water jugs and make it so they heal you a little when you drink them, then set the well as a container and fill it with the water jugs.
The mod was/is the dh_homes mod and when you buy the single room res in Balmora it comes with that.
This said, why not do it again but a different way?
Way to go.

Thanks for that Stumpytheguar.Stumpytheguar wrote:Use sparringly. Ask special permission before including a climbable well in your claims. And I suppose we'll add some later to the already made maps when we start working on quests seriously and not just talking about them.
It's not my hope that modders swamp the whole of Tamriel with multi-functional wells, but certainly a few could be an extra bit of gaming fun.
How nice it would be that every time you see a well you get that "I wonder if..." feeling LOL
Best

That was exactly what I meant and where I was coming from. I can't now recall exactly which map but someone has already modded a steaming lava vent - it's the back of Dragon Glade if memory serves...Eraser wrote:Not really, ever seen any of thos natural hot springs?
It looks brilliant - and if something along these lines could be the inspiration for a natural underground sauna you suddenly have the potential for a Spa town springing up directly above it. We have numberous here in the UK.
Bath is one of the best known [the Romans originally built a town there] and there is another close to me in a town called Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
A Spa town is a long-standing idea to improve the health of the nature. It also equals MoNeY
