I was wondering.

I red at multiple fan sites, that TES 1:Arena, was supposedly first a Gladiator game like gladius has become. Since im working on a Gladiator plugin (the one that did it originaly kinda abandonned the project) it was really nice for me cauze i could take the official names they gave to the gladiators.

But now i was wondering, did the modders creating the cities keep this in mind? and made Arena's in the cities that where supposed to have them? or has TR abandoned this piece of lore completely, and i am making this for naught?

i think that TR really has abandoned that cause its not really a piece of lore. I mean sure the game was originally going to be this fighting in arenas type game but they changed it from that concept to start the totally awesome series that we play today. Even though i cant say for sure i dont think there will be arenas in TR.

if they do include that its probably from another piece of lore because im sure that TR has probably abandoned that original concept

well, to be totaly truthfull... its real life lore...

... from the beginning of history, leaders have always known, to keep people satisfied, you should give them 2 things, food and entertainment, now the only way to provide mass entertainment, without television or internet... would be building big buildings, that can fit a lot of people... a.k.a theaters and Arena's

i never thought it was game lore though considering the fact that they changed it from the arena concept to something else.

But then again ill be the first one to admit that im not a lore master.

well, that was what i was wondering about... i was just playing arena... (its a free download nowadays... YAY for that site) and there are still hints pointing into the old game, if one searches closely, you can even discover what the gladiator teams where gonna be named, it seems that the concept change was kinda a last minute one, prob, because the hardware of those times couldnt handle big fights with lotsa NPC's as well as they hoped...

We are only going by the most current lore, and ignore lore that is older and contradicting. So the various gladiator teams will not be featured in TR. However, we DO have some arenas. Narsis has a beautiful arena with a mesh dome, for example. And there is already an arena in the original game in Vivec.
