It would be nice if someone would adapt them a little to be a little more Yokuish. I think some of the straight lines could be made curvey and the decorations could be replaced with some more Redguardian iconography.

That pic plus this sketch should be just enough to make a good model out of it.

I love those hanging lanterns. If they're picked to be modeled, just make sure they follow the normal rules of gravity instead of flying toward the right of the screen
, but they're perfect otherwise.
(Also notice how some are, in the background, hanging from the wooden poles that are sticking out of the walls. Something to be remembered by our city modders.)

If you could upload that shape design just in simple black and white, a texturer could use it easily. Would that be possible? Because filtering it back might cause some difficulties...

I'd have to invert colors and repaint over it, accidentally smashed all the layers. Won't take long though.

Lady N is right. You propably would be a good texturer

Gez wrote:Yoku is the culture of the ancient Redguards, before they invaded the land that is now theirs on Tamriel they lived on another continent, called Yokuda. Yokuda was destroyed by a cataclysm and the Yoku fled to Tamriel to get a new place to live, where they first sent their "warrior wave" (Ra Gada in Yoku) to clear the way for colonization. The term "Ra Gada" was corrupted into the Cyrodiilic phonetic approximation Redguard, which is how they are now called.
Yoku therefore refers to elements of Redguard culture that predate their arrival in Hammerfell and they becoming the Redguards.
That sounds a suspiciously great deal like the Numenorians from the Silmarillion.

That may be the case, but this lore concerning the history of Hammerfell has been established by Bethesda.

Sorry for the sketchiness on this one. Was thinking that a rope bride with a trunk center would be difficult to walk on unless you
were barefoot or had cleats lol. So why not fill the center with ceramic or stone tiles or wood slats?

Was taking a walk the other day, have gotten myself in the habit of looking at people's front yards since joining this project and saw a very
cool planter made of stones and concrete. Thought it might fit Hammerfell as a fountain, pond or well base design.

That sounds a suspiciously great deal like the Numenoreans from the Silmarillion.
Nah. Numenor was destroyed by the decadence and fall-from-grace of the Numenorean civilization, partly due to Sauron. The Numenoreans also had longstanding contact with middle earth. The Redguards destroyed Yokuda with what is essentially an atom bomb in sword-move form because they were better then everyone and knew it. They were guided mainly by divine grace to Tamriel, a world that they had not inhabited in thousands (?) of years and certainly didn't have any contact with. And then there is the whole "granted to man by Valar as payment for service against the dark lord" part of western history... in other words, the similarities are superficial at best.

I like it, and Morden's right. The towers on the sides might be a perfect inspiration to what we call "The Hammerfell Mountains Architecture Set". (the others are Goldmoor and Desert) Awesome.

I was not sure if you needed a wrapable texture for walls, so mine is inferior (more uniform) to a detailed image. The grill (vents) concept I believe is suited to desert homes. The grills can be any metal really and different quality, ruined to gold leaf. The one pictured is a bit worn, as you can see.

I did a couple of variations on that grill as well. Though I am rushing now and uploaded BMP they converted to PNG so don't worry about details, those I can work out.
this is not a stand alone but would be used to make color in a decor, it is a bit hideous:

This is the perfect grill if you would want to change the metal.

ooops converted to JPG but seem to have uploaded an intermediate transparency layer, well you might like this?

This is complicated with a metal background as well

I can make lovely, detailed ones for places too, I have to run, lost track of the time
Still unsure if this is the place to post these. Reading Blender and TES Script for Dummies too, so I am trying to work this all out.

Desert Well Concept
Posted: Thu Jul 17, 2008 7:46 am
by SirPooFace
Hi everyone. I am submitting my concept for a well. Best used, I believe, in desert regions as a lower class/village well.
The design features a conical cover above the well that I think is quite typical of what might be expected in a desert well as there is a need to keep the blazing sun off the water within the well to prevent evaporation of a precious resource. The well is built of basic materials that would not be too expensive in a desert region. It uses minimal wood and has a wall of caked mud.
This has been my first contribution to the Tamriel Rebuilt project, so if you have any advice on how I may better any future work please do tell me.
Thanks

It's cool. Though to prevent evaporation more it could be closed on all sides except one (the least sun-exposed one, so north).

The magic shop sign might not be used for magic magic shops, considering the Redguard's stance on magic (could work for alchemy). That aside, I feel it would be a sin not to include some of this awesome work.

I especially like Tava.
I missed Napoleoman's comment about the Numenoreans. Its interesting to me because Numenor was an intentional reiteration of Atlantis, which is just one of many iterations of the deluge mythology, so I don't see any real criticism from unoriginality. Further, the message it sends is rather different, the Yoku beat each other up until their own country is destroyed, so they just run off and take someone elses.
